Oppinions regarding desktop choice

Edit: @damm have you had any experience with chest tightness from the hydrabox? This thing looks great but I don't wanna invest in something I'm going to stop using due to respitory issues

With my setup; I have 0 issues. I can finish 2 bowls (16x) without having the urge to grab an inhaler. My lungs are crappy my mother ignored my Asthma as a child and smoked around me... as a teenager I was too close to a forrest fire so yeah they suck

I don't smoke Tobacco; but like I said no throat hit. Very large rips without any pain; it's incredibly smooth (with water). I've used the Dry pipe addon with it; it's doable but I need a drink nearby because it's dry.

There is a decent airway path underneath that cools the vapor and smooths it out. Pure Cherry or Walnut depending what you buy

Q-Tips or Pipe cleaners to clean it out every now and then; it's pretty smashing and yeah brand new bag on a Volcano and brand new solid valve is more harsh (to me) than my Hydrabrick Maxx.

Sad, I clean my Volcano left and right and .. I just can't get it as smooth

Volcano is a ridiculously dry hit. I used it daily for years and now it's packed away in the closet, replaced by a $35 Vapcap. I've talked to quite a few volcano owners who have said the same thing about the dryness. I love it for what it was, but probably would not buy one today. Although it is excellent as a "magnifier" it really seems to be able to take not great herb and turn it into something better.

@Dr. Yan-I-Tor did you look at the Herbalizer? I still think it fits your want list very well. It heats up in 5 seconds, and everything stows away to look like a simple aromatherapy device, very discrete. Also works with a bag, a whip, or direct draw/hydratube for all kinds of different sessions or one and done rips.

My crappy two cents, I see you went the LSV route, so did I. I then went to the Nano because the two vapes share enough similarities to make the transition easy and effective. Same knob adjustment to set the power, same need to finish regulating the heat via draw rate and both are really dependable if the operator (or dog) doesn’t drag them across the room. Downside on the Nano is that after the LSV it seems like its uses too small a load to work but I shortly realized that I could get either medicated or totally stoked with the Nano with less MJ. I guess my question is what didn't you like about the LSV or what are you looking for that the LSV didn't do well?

Vapexhale Evo: I had an og cloud until a friend dropped in and the HT. Loved loved loved this thing. My only concern at this point is how easy it would be to keep the HT clean

Have you tried Cranberry Extract/Rez Block?

Ex Cloud+ user here. VAS got the best of me and I picked up an EVO a few weeks ago. My biggest surprise was how much lighter the EVO is compared to the C+, night and day. The detachable power cable is also boss, I already have a spare power cable in several rooms.

I've been rocking the nano for a few years now, mine. Almost ordered a second one but went with the EVO instead.

If your going to be running your vapor through water, I'd go with the EVO. ELB's are quick to reload and cheap enough to have tons of spares. Nano GonGs on the other hand have the possibility of being broke, are extremely hot right after use, and can add up if you want 2 or 3 of them. Also with glass variance, I have one nano GonG that I prefer over all my others, so I end up using it 99% the time anyway.

The small load size of the nano really bugged me at first, but I got used to them. When you need to conserve, the nano is absolutely amazing and has saved my butt a few times. One of the other pluses for a log vape is that it can be left on 24/7, so instant vapor at any given time. The EVO has a 1-hour shut-off time limit and requires a few minutes to heat up.

Can I add my opinion?

I will vote for a vape nobody mentionned, the Herbalaire H3, look at this bad boy!

The Plenty is nice as a heavy medicater or a party vape but you can't microdose.

The Evo is very nice (I only used the Cloud+ myself) but is designed mainly for water filtration.

The Vapolution3 looks like a good contender (I never used/tested it), maybe I'll try to catch one in the future.

Log Vapes are really nice, always ready to go if you let it plugged (they don't use a lot of juice) but I use them mainly for daily maintenance use cause it's a micro-doser and you will have to reload a lot to get where you want if you have a high tolerance.

Difficult choice... I recommand the Herbalaire first cause it was the vape which convinced me about vaporisation!

edit: Forgotten the Herborizer Ti, same price range than the Evo but a large step better imo..

I've looked at the herbalaire. It seems like a solid unit. I've never used one but I've always heard good things. How's the taste and vapor quality?

The Herborizer looks like the vape a terminator would use. So precise and scientific looking. Seems like it's sold out though. I'll have to watch some vids

I did look at it, it seems like a solid device. But it's just making choosing harder haha

The LSV is a solid vape. I had it for a couple years. I just found it was a lot to juggle when getting everything out for a session and then packing it all back up. Plus I found the vapor to make me cough more than other desktops. Same with the SSV i had for a while. Both great, dependable vapes that do their jobs well. I just seemed to always have a scratchy throat after a session, even when using water.

I never managed to try rezblock. Is it that effective?

I want a unit that can pair well with water but isn't unusable without. So far I'm leaning towards the hydrabrick maxx more than anything else. But I also hear the call of the Evo, although idk if my poor wallet can take such a jump. The hydrabrick isn't so unreasonable to my finances as the stand presently.

I just don't want to receive whichever unit I decide to purchase and realize I wished I went with something else. I'm not really in a situation where I can have multiple desktops so I plan on sticking with my choice for quite a while.

Thanks so much for the input guys! Feel free to keep it coming lol

Yeah it really is a really dry hit. I have a lot of respect for it because it worked for so long; when my lungs were eh; I could just squeeze the bag and still get my medicine. There's someone who made a hydration option for the easy vape valve; maybe someday he'll do the same for the solid valve.

Lots of people do interesting ways to hookup their Volcano to a water rig; just seems not worth it. I'd rather break out my brick

I rate both rather high.HerbalAire is efficient, tasty and pulls out some serious clouds!

The Ti is something special.... personnaly that's not an everyday vape for me cause it is designed for water filtration but if you are looking for the best tool to stretch out the better from your flowers go for it!

Seems like the TI is out of stock; and the XL seems to be in stock. Any experience with the XL? Reminds me of Roor Vapor XL

In a way they are so similar I wonder if they are using the same parts...

Yes the Roor is a rebranded Herborizer XL in fact (with different watertool).

Is it possible to get the bowl and heater of the herborizer without the bubbler or tube? Or does it only come as a complete package?

Looks like it's time to rethink things and do a bit more research! :sherlock:

The XL is in Stock; or you could get the Roor Vapor XL which is the same thing.

Yes I agree the TI would be nicer; but it's not in stock.

To be honest concentrates are so rare around where I call home that if I did go the herborizer route, I'd probably just snag the original model (the XL?) and be comepletely happy. At this point if I want concentrates I need to get a pollen press and make due with whatever you call the finished product.

How would the brick handle pressed pollen mixed with flower?

It'll take anything you throw at it; flower + kief or flower + concentrate. It's just using the butane to heatup the air so I imagine most forms of hash should work. If it melts you'd want a concentrate pad in it (like from the firefly 2) so that way you don't end up having to try and clean up the concentrate all over your brick.

Little melting; small bit of shatter should be fine in a healthy bowl of herb.. and don't think you have to finish what you start; once you turn off the heat it's gone. No more smell is emitted; let the intake cool and then you can put the lid on and it's quite nice just sitting there.

Then whip it out hen you want. On demand heating.

I think you've convinced me. I'm going to go for the Brick.

It's size, both when unpacked and packed up. It's versatility, and that it can be hit with or without water comfortably. Oh, and gotta love how all the glass is detachable/replaceable. I still get a sick twist in my stomach when I remember how my og cloud died. Since I'm mostly, if not always, going to be using my home unit while outside on my patio or on my screened in porch, a torch as the source of heat just seems like the most reliable option. Oh and the instant heating. That too lol

Maybe I'll get an Evo down the road, I've been know to catch a bad case of VAS before.

Thanks again for all of the input everyone! Off to figure out what I want to do about the water situation
