Hey ive been testing my dog with my GonG and I'm wondering where exactly is most peoplr filling their stems to.

http://imgur.com/a/7y4aq

Ive been using zone 4 and im unsure if im just wasting flower.

I get an error trying to open the link but generally speaking I like to fill the stems only as high as the top of the screen with little to no packing/tamping. It definitely doesn't take much..

Wait let me double check... i fill the NonG till the end of the stem.. tell me im doing this part right lol

It's less important with the NonG and all 'inside core' stems, because as long as you haven't got fluffs sticking out past the rim, they won't touch the core's (potentially really hot) screen, but like everyone else has been saying, less is more.

Always consider a tiny bit of a buffer area between your herb and the core screen, the swishy hot air is where the magic happens. With outside-the-core stems like the glass ones and oversized stainless tips, the top of the basket is where you want to be.

Edit: I use an o-ring on all my Underdog cores, despite them not being 'necessary,' for this reason; it gives you an extra ~4mm of 'swishy hot air' space while providing a soft stop for your stems, be they glass or metal. They're a free option on all Underdogs (if this changes, I'll happily edit this out, but I've always appreciated the option). They're also really easy to install yourself if you order a pack of them, they just pop on.

Hey @underdog, I have two dogs that I like to run at the same voltage pretty regularly. I've been running them via a splitter off of my VK. Will the barebones guy that I bought be capable of doing the same thing assuming I have a wall wart that is 12v and 2a or so?

Hmmm.. on paper, yes. That said I haven't stress tested one of those that much so I'm not sure how it will work out in reality. Worse case scenario you release its magic smoke right?

Ordered my 2 space and travel VVPS late Sunday night. Hitting the dogs and playing with the voltages this afternoon. Dog and Dogette, you help make life a little more approachable each and every day.....thank you!!!!

Also, a shout out to the USPS! Tracking brought it to the airport facility at 0629 this morning. I knew in my gut that meant it wouldn't make it's 20 mile journey to my P&DC, much less my delivering PO, that alas, I would have to wait until tomorrow. Then, post regular delivery this morning, it was dropped at the front door. Good job, gentle persons!

Picked up a lovely package today

An absolutely breathtaking Cocobolo with matching stem, micro (black walnut I think?) and a 3-channel VVPS to keep the litter fed and tamed.

I'll do a video in the next couple of days with the coco to show the differences between the SC1 and SC2. Right off the bat I noticed SC2 has a fair bit more restriction to the airflow. A small sacrifice which results in faster and denser vapor production!

The 3-channel is kicking ass and taking names so far. As previously mentioned, it holds steady voltages. No jumping around like the LED dimmer. And probably as a result of the consistent output, my dogs seem to be running slightly warmer at the same voltages as the dimmer. All in all its a hell of an upgrade!

Once again, I'd like to thank the kind soul that donated to my cause. People like you are one in a million so stay awesome!

I may not be Daddy Warbucks but Little Orphan Coco has found her forever home! :science:

Will give those bags a try but, I need to figure out a way to blow it out into a glass container and have another screened air vent so that i dont blow out the ABV it contains each time.

I also keep a large poptop mason jar of 1.5L for my ABV, its about time you do some cooking or extracting!

What have you tried with your ABV in the past?
Ratchet has a spittoon that is exactly what you need. I have a beta version I'm testing and it's great..

Interesting, I've found no such thing. Will test some more on the weekend between my SC1 and SC2 dogs and report back. All in the name of science, of course. :science:

Good on you on getting that gorgeous sapwood; I don't know you from Adam, but anyone can tell it's found a good home. It's beautiful.

Thanks man! It's a tough job but someone had to do it

And I don't mean to imply that it's uncomfortably restricted. It's still pretty free flowing, but it has a bit more restriction than the SC1 imo. Feels more like my Nano or EVO. The SC1 was as wide open as my LSV, but thats often considered to be too free flowing.

But there I go making comparisons

Idk maybe I'm wrong. I'll go test it some more :brow:

Freddie, let's never fight again, kiss me you fool. :)

You didn't imply it was uncomfortable, I personally just haven't found a noticeable difference. I run my dogs through water maybe 95% of the time, which means I've got a bit of a built-in resistance low-end. I'll give an SC1 and an SC2 a run through dry glass and report back. Nothing says we can't both be right.
I can't test tonight, my weekdays/nights are a bit heavy lately, but tomorrow's Friday.
