Yeah I don't use the screens I have a few other grinders I use that have screens , this one is staying screenless. I have a # of vapes , just look at my signature below. I been using the grinder with all of them with great results . Had a minivap but got rid of it as I was not the biggest fan although it did hit really nice , it just didn't fit my personal needs . I have definitely been noticing a difference going screenless , it's not huge though but something there .

I asked because of your signature. I saw it and was curious as to why you owned so many other vapes after that. I'm surprised you got rid of the minivap. It's my favorite vape.

I'm going to use my second slx screenless soon. Not sure what to do to store Kief better

I really love trying all different vapes that catch my eye. Unfortunately the minivap just didn't make the cut for me and I find what I have suits my needs allot better. Don't get me wrong it wasn't a bad vape it just didn't keep up with some of my heavy hitters .

Got my Interplanetary Development SW2 today. Thanks @InterplanetaryTanner!

It feels solid and is machined nicely. The single turn to unscrew is a nice touch, but if they aren't expecting it, I could see my stoner friends dropping it.

I laid this very damp nug into the empty area.
BOH5INb.jpg

I lined up the lid's empty area and put it on.

The initial twist was surprisingly easy. After ten back and forth twists, this is what I had:
y0jURTw.jpg

And here is the fairy dust from it's virgin nug.
ReMMrrw.jpg

Typically I don't use a screen, so I'll most likely remove it. The magnetic screen connection is pretty nice. It's hard to imagine it ever coming off if I didn't want it to.

The magnet on the lid is considerably stronger than the one on my SCS.

For a $25 (on sale) grinder I'm very impressed.

Hey guys and gals, first post, and sorry for it's length!

I'm basically torn between getting the Ti Medium 4pc Space Case or the 2.4" SLX 2.0, and have come across a deal that looks a bit too good to be true...This Ebay auction is offering the Space Case for £40 +£10 shipping, and I am a little wary of how cheap this is.
I am planning to ask the seller a few questions, and I want him to take pics of the actual Space Case he is sending to me prior to buying, but what do I need to know? Do any Space Case owners know how to distinguish the real deal from a good imitation/counterfeit? As far as I know, the most recent generation of SC has Space Case with a registered trademark symbol, reading across the "top", and Made In USA across the "bottom" of the uppermost piece of the grinder. I am unsure if there is anything distinguishing on the bottom. Having the logo on top is a change from say 2008-2009 when I believe the logo was engraved into the bottom piece of the grinder, and the logo was also engraved along the "bottom" of the surface, which is also opposite to now.. BUT I could be wrong about this. The bottom piece of the current SC may still have the logo reading along the "bottom". I haven't read anyone confirm the number of teeth on either of the top 2 pieces so I can't go on that. All of the above is the sum total of knowledge I have to go at this seller with. I want him to take a pic or two of the actual unit. Seems reasonable?
I can't figure out how to upload an image of what I believe are genuine SC, but I believe the fakes have this garish white logo, and are missing the 'R' trademark symbol. This white logo style is used in the product listings used at www.spacecasegrinders.com which makes me very skeptical about whether they are a legit seller or not. www.spacegrinders.com do have the engraved logo, and seem legit. I know that neither of these are the actual manufacturer, and I know that there is no official Space Case website, not like www.slxherbgrinders.com or www.santacruzshredder.com, which are 100% the official site. So I figure the only way to be sure of the features of a legit SC is to ask you guys here, I know many of you have it. I think that the guys at Vapourtown sell legit SC (https://vapourtown.com/shop/space-case-herb-grinder-four-piece/), they are the exclusive UK seller for SLX 2.0, so I imagine they also sell only legit SC too. If this seller on Ebay can show me evidence that the grinder he is selling to me has the legit features, I will go for it.

Thanks for your time :)

Hey man, thanks for getting back to me so fast!

So it seems that maybe the garish white font is legit nowadays...hmmmm. They removed the 'R' symbol too which is odd. I am not a fan, it's such a dramatic departure from the older style engraving. The SC in this post here is exactly what I am looking for, I believe it to be the genuine real deal SC from like ~2012, it's the one in every great youtube review I have seen, and if this seller has this same model, I will go for it. It's just the price...£15 cheaper than it is on Vapourtown.com...Too good to be true? :D

Yes I would love to see your SC please, especially the top and bottom pieces, for any distinguishing logo features etc :) Also, instructions on how to upload images here lol...I can see an upload by URL feature only, but not how to upload from local storage!

Thanks again for your posts @CarolKing!

I sent them an email very late last night Saturday. I heard back from them 9 hours later, Sunday morning.

They also requested pictures and my address, saying they would send out replacement parts once they analyze the pictures.

I sent them the requested info and heard back just over an hour later, saying the same thing as @CarolKing's response.

Other than that there were no questions asked, they didn't ask where I got it or for proof of purchase or anything. Just an immediate response offering to resolve the issue promptly. They seem to really care about making customers happy no matter what. So far I'm really impressed with the customer service.

On a side note, I got my large titanium Space Case yesterday, and boy is that thing huge. I knew it would be big, but damn... :o

I think it could grind my SLX possibly.

I put two grams in at once and it wasn't even stuffed full. It just chewed through it with minimal resistance.

Grind size was really nice and consistent, a little finer than my SLX.

Overall I'm happy with the purchase. It'll be interesting to see how often it requires cleaning, I've heard mixed reviews of the titanium coating's effectiveness. I really like the black color which was part of the reason I went with Ti.

I think the SLX beats it in build quality, smoothness of threads, and the texture of the SLX feels much nicer in the hand. The slight knurling on the top piece of the SLX provides better grip when grinding. I also prefer the threadless screen design of the SLX. It's like a 3.5 piece grinder versus my 4 piece Space Case.

Eventually I will probably get a medium 3 piece Santa Cruz Shredder and then I will be set for life.

I don't have access to it now but if you look at the previous pictures I have the registered trademark symbol on mine. Space Case® is at the top and MADE IN USA is at the bottom:

I got mine from Puffitup about 6 months ago, it looks like they have a different design now, with Space Case® at the bottom, and I don't see MADE IN USA anywhere:

I have noticed that the Kannastor GR8TR is now imprinted on the top piece. Never used to be that way. Just saying.

Prefer no logo myself! I think i'm getting the solid body GR8TR (again) as well as SLX 2.0 large since the sales are to good to turn down!

4/20 is a deadly time of year for the wallet! Damn sale acquisition syndrome!

I don't believe it's possible to upload from local storage. I recommend imgur.com.

I upload to imgur and then select direct link from the drop down menu. I copy that link, then to insert it in my post I click the photo button next to the emoji button on the toolbar and paste the link in the field when it comes up.

There are multiple methods to post pictures:

That's the exact design I am looking for man. To me, this is the real deal. I don't like the new designs at all with that seemingly-painted-but-apparently-engraved white logo

Tell me about it! I am planning on picking up the Wolf X2 Sifter Box to go along with the SC. Maybe there will be a surprise sale on SC at the Vapourtown website on 4/20, because any US sale is still hampered by the crazy delivery costs to Ireland. $32 for the SC to be delivered by Spacegrinders.com!! That's without even mentioning the possibility of import fees to be paid on my end. A Vapourtown sale would be awesome. Everyonedoesit.co.uk don't seem to sell the 4pc Titanium Medium.

BTW in your last photo, this is showing the bottom of the grinder :p That's how I believe genuine SC are branded on the bottom side, and is exactly what I am looking for. Lawd let this seller be legit!

What kinda discounts are going on for the SLX now? Wasn't super interested in it, but it's been on my radar lately.

It's available for £50 or £60 (delivery UK to Ireland is £11. Can't say how much it is for anyone else) depending on size, here:
https://vapourtown.com/shop/slx-grinder/
I am kinda hoping they have a surprise 4/20 sale though so I can get a SC there! Seems you peeps in the US will have much better sales options with all the free delivery sites out there.

Here is a photo of the new style that has been mentioned, which I had hitherto assumed to be fake. It's really not nice compared to the sleek subtle logo on the older models. Why oh why did they do this??

I can't vouch for Puffitup enough. You can use the code PUFFEDUP to get 15% off your order. I would email them with your concerns about shipping and import fees, they are very accommodating and may be able to give you an even better discount to help offset those costs.

So this is what I meant when I said the GR8TR seems to gum up instantly, this is after my second grind of a little sour kush nug:

SofXrjz.jpg

See how much just gets stuck in the teeth and in the holes? Sure the sides are clear but this seems kinda ridiculous to me, and the grind again is not very fine and super uneven for me. Could say I need to cure the bud more, but SLX has no trouble and even SCS was better maybe? Same strain even, but most of my strains are moist and dense fresh meds, frankly I don't really want to dry out my herbs...

I did realize if you turn counter clockwise it's fine, but if you turn the other way then it unscrews the bottom plate as you grind (that was the issue I was describing before) so that's manageable though still not ideal

I am also not really a fan of the center magnet piece being in the lid like it is here, leaving room for herbs to get crushed in between magnets, as opposed to SCS and SLX where it is in the lower section. Definitely better for upside down grinding at least (which you wouldn't do here)

I will say the build quality is top notch and feels great in the hand, nice thick heavy plain aluminum pieces, but functionally it isn't proving so useful for me yet... Of course I still need to spend more time with it, more grinds, but figured I'd share this photo while I have it

Yep, search my posts here. Similar experience with the fine plate....the buds have to be properly dried otherwise you get a mess (I posted a pic but think i deleted it from imgur) and clogged holes. I agree about the magnet too, I was always fishing stuff out of that centre part. As for plates unscrewing, you really need to tighten the plate well and shouldn't have an issue, but then it's a nightmare to get it apart. I always thought the fine plate had a very even fine grind though so not sure what's up with that. Finest grind i've ever experienced, and the most even. For these reasons I much prefer the regular grind plate and the solid body for ergonomics as i've mentioned many times.

Thanks for that thought Shit Snacks, I was going to buy the Kannastor (again) but now realize why I even sold it in the first place. For me the tits about it is the ergonomic form factor but I think i'll just spend my money on the SLX large, and explore some other brands instead. Kannastor, been there done that!
