What's your favorite torch or lighter to use with the Vapcap?

@GreenHopper thanks for the response, I had gone off the idea of getting a torch zippo insert due to some of the negativity towards them in this thread but I think I may just get one now and see for myself.

Found this alternative brand zippo insert (if you feel like you need to buy and try them all for me :brow:)

So just a short list then :p

That alternative brand insert looks exactly like the Thunderbird, if it had a transparent tank I'd get it but alas it doesn't.

If you want to conserve fuel then don't underestimate the ability to adjust the flame height without needing a tool. When the lighter is cold you need to crank up the fuel rate, if you've warmed the lighter (hand or pocket does a good job) up then you can reduce the fuel flow. As I need a tool to do this on the Thunderbird I just leave it on a setting that's relatively high thus wasting fuel during those times the lighter is warm.

I have 4 Eagle single jets and 2 Hongjing triple jets... both work well for different purposes, but I'll try the honest double jet next after some good posts in the Vapcap thread. Hoping for a best of both worlds type thing. More accurate and conserves fuel but heats faster and more evenly.

I have had some very good luck with the Honest lighters. From the higher end to super duper cheap ones. I don't really like the super cheap ones but have several as back ups. Nothing wrong with them though AFAICT. If they ever fail, they are cheap and easy to replace.

Do you find having to refill to be a nuisance or is it a non issue for you?
I have several lighters that I use in rotation. When one goes dry I put it in a little basket that sits by the pantry. When I have a few lighters in there I fill them all up. It takes maybe 5 minutes or less. Not a bother at all and it feels good that I'm not just chucking a disposable lighter in the garbage.

A can of butane lasts a good long time. I average a can every 4-5 months or so. It probably costs a dollar or so a month to keep me in butane.

I use single double and quad lighters. I keep my flames short, maybe an inch long, on all of them. I vape several times a day, every day. I only use the Vapcaps now, so every session uses butane.

I have three of these. They are great table lighters. The Vapcap rests easily on the lighter lid while you twirl. The tank is large so filling them is an occasional activity. And, I think they look pretty good too.

Hey, thanks Squiby! I went ahead and ordered one, and also found this quad lighter to try. I thought maybe paying a bit more for a lighter might mean it lasts a little longer, but I'm not confident. The configuration of the jets is a little different on the Honest triple jet than it is on the purple Jobon one I have - the way I hold it, the two will be at the bottom of the cap and the single will be at the top, which seems like it makes more sense, but again, time will tell. Got another month before arrival, but will update when I've played with them! Hopefully my last purple one hangs in there that long!

Does anybody know if there is a single or double flame torch lighter that is small enough to fit into a Dynastash or even a DynastashER?

@Coughed §41? At dhgate?? And it's an original Cohiba no fake???
At ebay.de the same looking Cohiba will be offered for 27€!?
Oh, I wouldn't think it was original anything from dhgate. ;)
The price must be showing different for you. For me, it's about $36AUD, and the link you got would be about $39AUD if they shipped here for free too. It's a pain in the ass to find lighters here, so I'll have to take my chances online.

They are cheap but they are awful too, I've gone through three of them in a few months, dead igniter, and the flame isn't even and the exhaust gunk very fast (using high purity butane).
Cheap but for the same price they are others that are performing better and longer.

My double and single jet from Xikar are performing great and steady since the beginning, they stay my favorite for the moment. The stratosphere has a really tiny tank for daily use, but the flame is awesome, wide and powerful.

And I just finished a 250ml can of butane (Xikar), after 7 months of daily usage ( 5/7 VC per day on average) using a double and single jet.
Cost of the can: 4$
How cheap is that? :D

Hey,

The triple torch (Vertigo brand) that Dynavap sells is definitely my favorite.
I've already used single torch, bic lighter and campfire and all methods worked pretty fine.
The triple torch appears to make it click faster, and spread heat uniformly, resulting in nicely toasted ABV.

Cheers!

I like the Vertigo triple torch that Dynavap sells, my only complaint with it is the fuel usage. I find it drinks the fuel compared to my single flame drug store torch. Similar sized tanks, and I get nearly twice the bowls per fill with my single over the triple.

Is there any way to use the last 10% of butane in the lighter? I turn it up all the way, but no good. Was able to get nearly everything out of my single flame.

Trying to find lighters with large tanks/good efficiency for multiday backpack trips. Just ordered a Xikar Tech single torch, curious to see how that performs.

These are cheap, but seem to hold up pretty well for me. There are plenty of variations on this same cheap triple torch. I buy them locally for about $5, or shop ebay for multiple ones that are cheaper. Hold plenty of fuel, triple works well when outside, and don't seem to use as much butane as other triples I've tried. Maybe a bit superstitious, but the orange ones always seem to work best for me!

The very cheap single angled flame Honest is, at the moment, the most reliable torch I've ever had.
I bought four two years ago and I'm still using the first one. I also fill it with cheap butane from my local chinese bazar and it lights up at the first time 100% of times. In the same two years I had several torches fail on me including some fancier one.

What double torch would be most like the DynaVap store triple torch that I already own, but not cost $20 like the store's double vs their triple is $10?
I'd like less noise, use less butane/not fill as often as triple, and maybe smaller---and inexpensive. What models will meet these wants?
thanks

I really like this Honest double torch. I know there's a couple other people who have mentioned they like it as well. I don't own the triple torch so I can't compare the two, but I recommend giving this one a shot.

Love this one, too. It's the one I usually keep in my kit. Small, nice double jet and mostly no problems. Excellent VC heating. She does go through butane pretty fast though, and has a smallish tank

I have the inline triple lighter that Dynavap sells, but it has stopped working for me. It worked beautifully for 4 or 5 tank refills, then suddenly stopped working.

I always bleed the tank before refill, and have been using high quality butane (Xikar and Vector).

I can see the ignition is still sparking, and I can hear gas flowing. I have tried all adjustments to the flame level adjustment.

I can get it to light maybe 1 out of every 50 attempts right now. So it does work very rarely.

Anyone have an idea what might be wrong or a way to fix it? Thanks!

I have the same problem with the vertigo triple too. I tried cleaning all the jets with a dry qtip but it didn't help any.

I have quite a few lighters: zico, scorch, xikar, vertigo and several others. I must be doing something wrong because they all stop working even with butane in them after a couple of refills. The scorch has lasted the longest. I tried researching reliable ones and ended up with a list that is only available in the UK.
I'm not sure what exactly I need to do differently but, even though it's not the best environmental solution, are there any lighters that are truly disposable? Only for 1x use and then dispose of instead of refillable? I also have trouble with the kind of lighter that works like a bic or zippo where you have to slide a wheel.

Also has anyone tried something like a tesla?
