So I got home from work today and my new stems were waiting for me, having had time to play with all four of my stems now I bloody love the new fixed glass stem and will definitely start using it exclusively over the adjustable! Firstly, this one fits perfectly just like my adjustable stem and so much better than the other fixed glass I received and works so much better so I will contact Athena and get a replacement fixed stem sent out, thank you Ace.

Now I prefer the fixed stem over the adjustable as my bud gets cooked much more evenly and thoroughly whilst I also seem to be able to draw much better with it as well, all of which is rather strange seeing as the bud is sat further away from the heating element, maybe it's due to my packing or drawing technique or possibly both? It is also a lot easier to clean with my compressed air as well. For me the fixed is better in every aspect so my two adjustables will be kept as valuable back ups from now, really impressed...

almost forgot .. :bang: I will need an American / European power converter -> 110v / 220v, can anyone recommend some one reliable and out of annoying buzzing?

thanks !

I linked to one a page or two back that I ended up buying, it does the job however the buzzing is quite loud and very irritating!

I also asked about a silent one too but just like you I didn't get a response and that I imagine is because there are none available or if there are then maybe the cost is too high in comparison? I'll continue my search for a silent one though as I feel it's definitely needed and will post in here if I find one...

I got mine from a company here in Oz called Tortech.

I am not suggesting this is the solution for you (they don't seem to have international distribution - and it's heavy and may not work for 220v etc-but there site does mention european appliances...) however, this is completely silent and designed to run 24/7.

No buzzing or anything and i have had it switched on almost 24/7 for the last year with no issues.

I just mention this to let you know that silent ones do exist. I paid about $50 au.

I bought this converter in the end >>> http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/240v-to-110v-300w-voltage-converter-vr05f

Its overkill and a tad expensive but it runs cool and silent, i originally had the 50W one but it ran very very hot and made me nervous. This one seems like it will last forever and well worth it for the piece of mind.

18 months with the nano for me now and its still my main daily driver. :science:

I needed some 14mm gongs recently and scored free shipping again to the UK with the FC coupon for the 4th or so time too. Can't beat that level of service Epicvape really are a great company!

Septon, you're the man!

That is perfect, my local Maplin (under 5 minutes walk) has two in stock so I will be purchasing one tomorrow, it is also halve the price of what I expected to pay too, nice one

Picked up my nano to plug it in on Saturday and something is rattling inside it! It will not light up or heat up at this point. I have written Epicvape but haven't heard back yet. Really bummed not having my nano at the ready! Anyone have this issue before??

Good news, you have a three year warranty. Bad news, Epic is a small company and seems to move at small staff size speed. Good news the "guts" of the vape are fairly simple so warranty repairs tend to have a relatively quick and satisfying turn around.

As soon as EpicVape got my unit for RMA it was repaired and out the door the same day. I had a wobblly plug where the ps plugs into the side of the unit. I live in WA state and turnaround time for me was 8 days, that included the weekend when they are closed.

Most of that time it was in the mail either to or from epic. Randy tries to get the repairs done fast.

I'd prefer the honeycomb I think, but remember airflow restriction issues, and the adjustable was a pain because i'd lose alot of herbs with stirring.
I have both adjustable and fixed glass screen stems and gongs.

I generally use the adjustable stem/gong as I believe that the glass screen allows more particulants through. I have thought about putting back to back bucket screens in the fixed stem with a bit of hemp fiber filter in between, but it will get it stuck in there as there is no way to push this bit of kit through the stem and out for cleaning, changing the filter, etc.

I don't know why you found the adjustables to be a pain and that you lost herb due to stirring? Can you explain this a bit more? I find them both to work very similarly with the exception that after giving the fixed glass stem a stir, too dang much particulants come through for my taste (but others find them to be fine).

Also, I don't really see much in the way of draw restriction with either type.

With the glass screen stems you need to use a coarse grind or little nuggets. So you don't get bits in your mouth.

I started out with a few of the fitted glass screen stems and when I would accidentally drop them they broke right where the glass screen is. My adjustable stems will withstand a fall a lot of the time. I love epics strong thick glass. The glass fitted screen stems would break every time dropped. So I didn't order any more. I haven't broken an adjustable stem in six months or longer.

Thanks Baron, it's been a while since i've had a Nano, so a finer grind could potentially be responsible for the lack of airflow I was experiencing, although I still don't think the nano is as open as many other vapes i've used.

The basket screens would not "stick" even after bending/adjusting, etc.. And i'd lose tiny amount of material around the edges, but who knows like I said it was over a year ago perhaps the gong tolerance was out of spec slightly?

I agree about the honeycomb allowing too much stuff to pass through, however with a tiny screen, problem solved? I suppose that defeats the purpose, but I like that the honeycomb won't move. There just doesn't seem to be enough friction to keep the basket secured properly IME.

So, i managed to destroy my Nano this afternoon.

I went to pull the power cord out, and the whole female connection attached to the Nano popped out, including the wires and the little light.

It actually looks pretty simple to fix (would've been even simpler if i didn't fiddle with it and break one of the wires )

Anyway, it looks like i just need slide the wires back into the crimping. Only problem is that the wires are not differentiated in any way (positive and negative, diff colours etc)

@ACE OF VAPE is there a positive and negative? Do i need to connect them to the right wire, or does it not matter? More important, if it does matter, what happens if i get it wrong? Zap crackle and pop, or it just doesn't work?

Sorry for all the questions, but the cost of sending the unit half way around the world for repair likely makes it not worth it, but i am handy enough to do it myself if it is not dangerous.

Any assistance appreciated. Thanks

It makes no difference, however I find it easier to place the wire with the resistor on the pin closest to the bottom of the Nano. Be very careful however as the Resistor wire is VERY fragile.

Thanks heaps for this info. Unfortunately i had already broken the resistor wire taking it apart to 'inspect the damage' :bang: (it seems like i had actually fixed it when i quickly stuffed everything back in the first time:shrug:...I really should have left it well alone and just quickly asked on this forum:doh:, but hey, ya gotta tinker when the opportunity presents right?:disgust:)

Anyway, it is working just fine now, just without the light due to my stupidity. Basically, this Nano seems to survive much abuse. The story so far...
-knocked over with the stem on. Stem cracked but no damage to nano, and i was able to sand the stem to a shorter version.
-wood cracked (my fault. I left it on 11 for 2 days with an oil tray sitting on top)
-pulled the gizzards out when removing the power cord (again, no fault of the nano, i didn't realize the plug was loose due to the split wood no longer holding it in place), but an easy fix which would not even have required tools if i hadn't fiddled with it and snapped the resistor wire.:mental:

None of these things have affected performance one bit.

I usually treat my vapes well, but this poor thing seems to take all the knocks, abuse and neglect but still soldiers on and continues to provide.

Thanks @ACE OF VAPE for a great product and excellent customer service.

The journey continues:tup:

yes @ataxian ! Is that a COLA in the glass

I just took 48h with my e-nano and I think my e-nano is more powerful than other e-nano around here .. I get white clouds on the dial 4.5 if I upload it to 6 I barely have a couple of seconds to inhale And retire stem otherwise there is combustion ,,, if I want to suck slow it seems that 4 of the dial is the point..

I read that 6.5 is the most common point and 5 or 5.5 for single flavor !. I'm going with 4.5 for big clouds and 3.5 or 4 for just tasting ... maybe it's soon to compare ... I'm still taming the cable and trying different combinations of screens and crystals ... But I love it ,,, it's so cool!! I'm amazed at its efficiency without dominating this vapor ,, this can only improve ....

I think my honeymoon starts...

I also read about 6.5 being a good setting and started around there however having had time to now experiment more with my Nano I agree that 6.5 is too powerful, or at least with my Nano it is!

When I first got my Nano a few weeks ago I thought it was great and I stayed between the 6 - 7.5 range when using it, this week though I have had more time to experiment and I have found that the 5 setting is even better, the efficiency and vapour production for me is so much better at 5 and I was already impressed anyway.

I draw quite fast too so I imagine if I slowed down then I could easily vape on 4, I am really happy with the 5 setting right now though.

Honestly, I am that impressed with it that I may end up getting a second one that I can keep in my rucksack to have as both a back up and to use as a travel vape.

This vape really is EPIC!
