How's this for a messed up warranty. Because the IQ's Bluetooth had a problem with the app on my phone and I had to disconnect it. Because it was phone related, the 3rd party seller wouldn't issue a RMA, don't understand @Davinci_vaporizer,

Have a Quick question as to what the overall consensus we have found as the best batteries to purchase are that may lead to the unit being less hot then the Davinci Stock Battery and are the highest quality longest lasting and just the tried and true best battery to buy to swap in an out of this crazy device. I know Davinci offers them but from looking through a lot of threads it seems like people are having better luck with other ones when it comes to the device getting too hot which is an issue i don't want to have anymore Be it q30s etc. So what are the best replacements to order for Quality Safety and most importantly if different batteries make the device less hot that's huge.

Just ordered the nectar collector! Excited to test it out with the IQ!
As much as I love the IQ and I certainly do (even tho it's more a toy for the missis) my biggest gripe about the device is the stealth mouthpiece, many have switched to the 10mm adapter for superior air flow however that is to the detriment of stealth for me.
Are there any plans for a better airflowing mouthpiece that IS still stealthy I.e flat @Davinci_vaporizer ? With the whole unit looking very much like a power bank I can foresee a mouth piece that resembles a USB port etc perhaps? Just a idea for the creative types.
My unit doesn't get to hot, doesn't drain power so I think I've got a good one, flavour is still tip top although it could do with a clean. Got the glass spacers and while I don't think there overly needed for a full ten min Session they work real good for those how puff,puff put down saving much material in the process.
We've considered some redesign for the flat mouthpiece to increase the airflow. The power bank USB analogy is good i'll pass that along to our Pdev team.

Just don't pack them so tight in the oven. When old, the continued heat can break the flowers into super sharp daggers that will pierce your oven causing failure. Toss them with the AVB when they get tattered.So got my star screen in today, got to say just the right size for the IQ. I'll report in later on how good a job it does on keeping the bottom of the bowl clean.
I use the smaller DaVinci spacer with one flower prior to loafing often.
Also not using flowers and just the spacer makes loading and cleanup easier.

Not a battery guru for sure but I've had luck with "name brand" batteries +/= 15amp. I saw that Sony has some really awesome VTC6's. Those are what I'm ordering next. I've tested the HG2's the 25R's as well as two rewrap brands. The HG2's and 25R's perform almost equally well IMO. If there is a difference it is nominal. Hope this helps.

I remember you telling me that in our PM @Glass004. Won't be really getting a chance to use them for a few days. Used one last night. Units getting a RMA for draining the battery on my iPhone. This will be my 3rd IQ. I just wish I could get one that fully worked. Really love the unit, just buggy as hell. Hoping 3rd time's the charm. I was actually a little worried about the breakage thing when I was cleaning out the chamber. These things are so small, it would be so easy to stick a tool down there and chip off one of the little points, especially when everything's still hot.

So my 3rd party seller who I am returning my IQ today via a RMA which will be my 3rd IQ, told me they are doing me a favor by doing the return for me. You guys might remember my weird problem I was experiencing. When my iPhone was connected to the IQ it was draining the battery from my iPhone.
So then they say if I return the whole unit with everything included they would refund my money. I'm like, Ok no problem. Then when I asked if I could apply my refund to the purchase of a new unit, they come back at me and said I could do a RMA now. It's like make up my mind.

I'd forget your retailer and RMA via DaVinci. I think they have their act together now and you will get better service in the future with your next IQ.
I think there are a few querky units out there in so far as their energy management. This IQ rejects batteries a lot quicker for low charges than my other units. I have to keep 4 batteries in rotation to make it through the day, previous IQs I owned I only had to cycle 2 batteries per day. ( I am using a two battery XTAR VC2 charger). I too am a chronic user and place significant wear on my IQ.

So true, totally done with the 3rd party. If I wasn't tied to this vendor with this IQ I'd cut ties with them. They used to have great customer service. What only 4 batteries. I got 6. But that's only because my wife has a vape also that takes the same battery. Going to be lost for the next few days waiting for my replacement.

You can go directly through Davinci warranty even if you bought it from an authorized seller. I know that because my seller does not handle warranties for Davinci and told me to deal direct. You just have to register your warranty and device on the Davinci website with a picture of your receipt and the serial number.

I have the Samsung 30Q and while it is a bit cooler, by the end of your session at 400+ degrees it still gets very hot. I don't think there are any batteries that will make this a 'cool' device.
Nonetheless, a few top tested 18650s are:
Samsung 30Q
LG HG2
Sony VTC6
I think any will work well and serve as an upgrade.

I was just reading reviews on these batteries before coming across this post and I decided to order a pair of Samsung 30Q's and see if a 15 amp battery would run unit much cooler than 20 amp battery and not as hot as the 10 amp battery that comes with the unit.
I'm curious about the issues with the IQ getting too hot.
Is it only certain units? Is this related to a defect? Is it that different people have different heat tolerances? Or maybe a combination?
I've read somewhere that later model IQ's have less heat shielding than the originals that were released?
For myself personally I haven't noticed my IQ getting too hot at all, I use the stock battery and Sanyo's (which I believe are the same as the stock battery)
I've literally done 5-6 back to back 10 minute sessions at 430F to burnoff my IQ after cleaning and I never felt it was too hot until maybe the end of my 6th straight session.
In my normal use the IQ is warm but never too hot, so I'm curious about the different causes and symptoms of heat that people are seeing.

The only reason i didn't want to go that route is because my only other to vapes are a budda & a focus. I live in a non-420 house so I need to watch the smoke The buddha is ok and I had the focus. The pods suck. And to wait for the RMA Process from Davinci and get in processed and returned who know's the timeframe.

It does get warm but never hot as the backend of my hopper. I'm guessing this is an issue with certain batches? I've only ever used the stock battery or the equivalent of the stock made by Sanyo. I have had 3 IQs, including one of the first group sold All 3 ran too hot to hold after three 10 minute 430 sessions. I wrapped mine in five feet of black leather lace ( as in shoelace) and although it disturbs the sleek IQ look, the leather looks classy .I'm curious about the issues with the IQ getting too hot.

I appreciate the feedback i'm a samsung fan and that seems to be everyones top pick so that's what ill go with. If somebody can provide a link to the best deal on these from a legitimate site i'd greatly appreciate it. Hoping amazon is the place to go but either way.

Same thing, I bought 3 extra Sanyo NCR18650GA 3500mAh 10A Flats', which I believe are also stock, and they work well. I vape at the second or third smartpath and it seems to stay relatively warm but not piping hot unless I use it with another at the fourth smartpath.
I'm pretty curious to try out some of these different batteries but until I really have concrete evidence to go off of I'll just stick with the Sanyos'.
