Cheap High Quality Bubbler

I thought dhgate took like a month to ship? I placed an order from Steven not even a week ago, and it's already in Canadian customs! BOOM!
I placed an order from Steve over month ago and it still hasn't hit customs. Bought 4 hydrafoot water bases from Sunshine store at the exact same time and have had them 2 weeks. Also all Sunshine stores hydrafeet have the extended downstem now as well.

Well I finally made my first dhgate order, and went with steven's store:

FC-187 v2
FC-186
PG014

Hopefully it all works out okay!

I'm guessing there aren't any 4/20 sales on dhgate?
I also recently bought a Steven FC-187 V2. Its still in transit but if it arrives in one piece with no pin holes or wobble on the table, I will be very happy as I think this dewar design will be very useful to me.

Cheers

Which one do you think milks up the best? I've been wanting one for my evo but can't decide which base to get, I have the VXH hydrabomb so I probably wouldn't get the circ base (similar Perc) but idk

The best Hydrafoot on Dhgate is the Tree hands down. The circ(showerhead) requires a certain amount of water ro function. The inline is just chuggy or something. All of them are different but fully functional. If i could only choose one itd be the tree

Hi all,

I posted about this in the Herbalizer thread. A couple people suggested I post here so I can get an inexpensive, quality, glass piece for my Herbalizer.

It seems like what I want is a water tool, since with that you have the option to use it dry, or with water.

I have a spinal cord injury, so I don't know if I want to deal with the extra maintenance of using water, but if using a water tool dry would be the same as a steamroller, it seems like I should get a water tool for the extra flexibility. I'd like to try hits dry, and with water.

I don't have any experience with using glass with a vaporizer. It's been maybe decades since I've taken bong hits.

I'm thinking it would be good to avoid something like a whip/bubbler combo, and take the whip out of the chain, but I'm open to opinions. Wouldn't it be better to use only glass?

What would you recommend given what I typed? And is the stuff from DHGate really as good as the more expensive US made stuff?

Thanks.

Sorry for all the questions in advance, to help you I need to find out more!

How are you using your herbalizer now (Try to be specific)?
How do you ideally want to use it?

What do you mean wouldn't it be better to use only glass? Why do you say that? Better for what specifically?

I'd recommend the Yingmin5 matrix bubbler piece.

Look through the pics, you'll get an idea of how you can use it in a multitude of ways. @ataxian is the one who has inspired me to go this route, and it's the one I HIGHLY recommend.

You literally can just use glass just because you like how glass is. I use glass because I just don't like silicon. I like glass. It's pretty. That's really it.

It's not as good as American glass. Of course not. We have some AMAZING glass blowers here. Is it functional though? The functionality is the key here and yes, it's functional (I mean obviously if you buy some crazy design and it works like crap and no one has ever tested it before and the seller didn't post a function video... well I mean come on... can't just trust China blindly here).

The reason I prefer China glass for most applications is because I can gronk spike it, and pick up a new piece. I couldn't care less if a piece I have from China breaks. It's $20-60. But my American glass? No thanks. I'm not replacing $500-2000 pieces. I have my limits! One day though.

No matter what you post, I'll probably still recommend what I originally posted, but I just would like to be ultra sure we get what you need.

Thanks, I really want to do it right the first time and get the right piece, so being detail-oriented is necessary.

I've only used Herbie for flowers so far, and I've only used the whip, not the bags. I may try things like rosins in the future, but I'm wary of how strong concentrates can be.

I think my main issue with the whip is the amount of lung strength you need to exert to draw on it. I also understand glass offers better flavor, etc., but I don't have any personal experience with vapes and glass, so I don't know all the pros and cons.

I saw this video of Herbie with the steamroller they sell, and it seems better than the whip:
I also like the idea of the carburetor it has.

Isn't having only glass in the chain better for flavor, for one thing? I thought I read a post about that. It would also cut down on the parts to clean, but I'm open to whatever's best, as long as the maintenance wouldn't be too annoying.

Here are two replies to my post in the Herbalizer thread:

"Whenever vapor passes through glass, some of it will be deposited on the internal walls of that glass. The glass you choose does not really affect this, although obviously a larger internal surface area provides more area for the vapor to "stick to".

I have used original VapeXhale glass, china glass and locally blown glass and can't tell much of a difference. As such, I only buy dhgate glass now. Of course, it doesn't help that I am the clumsiest person known to man!

I also prefer the bent-neck models, as they are easier to use ergonomically.

Whether you use water or not is a personal preference (assuming the piece in question is intended for use with water). I actually use my glass dry most of the time for better flavor

As always, YMMV."

and

"Leaning over the Herbalizer might not be the easiest thing for you? A whip with a bubbler attached is easy to pick up and use while sitting back. You don't even need to use it with water for it to work just like the steam roller.

I highly recommend you look up dhgate and also look at or post in this thread http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/cheap-high-quality-bubbler.5255/unread"

The Matrix bubbler you recommend has a bent neck, so that seems like a plus. Does it have a carburetor? And if I were to use it dry, would it be just as good as the Herbalizer steamroller? Also, I'd have to get an adapter for the bowl, correct?

Thanks again!

Was a false alarm.... the email said it had cleared customs of the "destination" country. It was a lie, it cleared export customs in beiging lol I'm not in a rush though since i'm on a break anyway.

Thanks for the heads up on sunshinestore shipping way faster.

Straight Tube makes ZERO sense for ergonomics. Hence why you see me recommend the bent neck there. I despise straight tube for my own personal use.

As for the "vapor loss" argument. That's so minimal, I really don't think it's important. I have a big bong, and a small piece, and I can't tell the difference vapor wise.

As for the carb portion.
No it doesn't? I'm not aware of many glass pieces meant to be used with water that have carbs. That's not as normal. However, you can get a glass adapter that will give you a carb. This again goes to the modularity thing. OregonGlassBlower can make you one if you can't find one for some reason.

Cleaning wise, I notice no difference between the whip and the glass.
Both have to go in an iso bath. Personally, I have a 5 gallon jug of simple green I bought from Home Depot for $20. That's all I need. If you want to be super crazy you can check out the ultrasonic cleaners. I'll be getting one before 2017 is over.

If you don't like the whip, the only way I can see that is if the whip is too constricted to allow great airflow. If you're willing to sit closer to the Herbalizer, then you could use glass directly with the Herbalizer correct?

That's part of the reason I recommended that piece. Because you can use the top part to easily mate with the Herbalizer, while also using a small whip attached into the downstem of the bong.

As for "carbing", generally, I use the whip as my "carb" and just pull out of my piece if I use a whip and then keep a finger over the whip to keep it fresh.

If you don't need the whole setup that I recommended, he does sell the main part that you can use.

I just like that because it will let you try TWO setups right from the start.

@ataxian just posted the honeycomb version of what I recommended.

Total agreement with your statement to straight ones!

Regarding carps there could exist regional differences. Up to a few years nearly every glass piece in Germany had a carb. Meanwhile carbless WP are getting more. Guess ratio is nearly 1:1.

I agree, euro glass always used to have a carb hole while us glass didn't. Now I see more pieces without it, when I was younger they were more uncommon.

I shouldn't say that the only way you won't like the whip is if it's too constricted. Meant to say one way. Could be too long, among other things.

I thought the herbalizer could force vapor through?
Have you thought of using a vape like that? The SSV does that too.

@biohacker
That's my normal experience with shipping from China. A lot better than expected. My monitor supposed shipped from Korea in 2 days.. I think they had some warehoused here, but Asia products I've had great experience with

This is a game changer for me.... I can see GAS being more of a problem that VAS! lol

One piece is "dirty' or something...another has a bubble, haven't looked at them anymore than that but just about to give them an ISO bath and checkout the water function.

For the price, impossible to beat.

You'll have fun with these pieces! But give the FC-UFO from Steven a try. It'll not disappoint you!

And the whip works awesome for a sesh!

Or the Rattle-Can, it's a diffusion pump and larger than the FC-710.

Thanks bro! The UFO is on my GAS list in addition to the Peyote Pillar (large) as well as the Devastator clone!

The rattle can looks so cool!!!! Must be a nice visual experience?

I don't know how much water to put in the 186? I don't understand the double perc system, if I cover the top perc as well it feels like the water is going to go right up the downstem lol And I get water in my mouth.
So i'm just using it filled to cover the bottom perc and maybe just slightly the top and it seems to be working great. Am I doing something wrong here?

All 3 pieces cleaned up to sparkling and seem to function perfectly!

You did it right...the FC-186 is an exploding bubble machine!

The DPs deliver a nice visual experience but accoustic?

Their other names are rattle cans cause of the small glass (?) ball which is rattling during diffusion. I like it, some not.

How desirable would a carb be for using it dry? Interesting that there are regional differences on whether to include it or not.

I may need to clean the whip, but I'm going to order a glass piece anyway. And yes, the Herbie is close to me as it is.

In looking at the multiple pieces, I initially didn't really get what I was looking at, but after watching this video for something that looks similar:
I think I get what you mean.

In terms of what you say here, "As for "carbing", generally, I use the whip as my "carb" and just pull out of my piece if I use a whip and then keep a finger over the whip to keep it fresh.", are you saying a whip is connected to the glass, then you'll pull the glass out of the whip, and keep a finger over the end of the whip?

What is the difference between the Matrix version and the Honeycomb version?

I got a PM from somebody who said this,

"I am a big fan of the Herbie brand steamrollers. I have both. They perform identically. I prefer the bent version simply because it is more ergonomic. I also have a lot of glass and prefer the steamroller over any other setup I've been able to devise. The steamroller is especially satisfying right out of the fridge.

Maintenance.....

Steamrollers are very very easy to keep clean. A quick iso wash and it is like new. Also dishwasher safe."

Seems some posters to the Herbalizer thread really like the Herbie steamroller, and others say Chinese glass is about equivalent, so I'm having a hard time deciding.

Thanks for the replies.

Yes. exactly.

I prefer the Matrix perc hands down. Especially for someone like yourself who wants an easy pull.

As for maintenance... I mean iso+salt will get rid of the majority of junk. I just did a cleaning actually, and the main thing you need to do is ensure you're using an abrasive like salt in conjunction with something like iso. Without the abrasive, it won't matter what you do it won't clean as well.

When you say "Chinese glass is about equivalent?" what exactly are you worrying about in relation to American Glass?
We originated the designs, so of course they will be better made here...
Would I pay 1/5th the price of American glass for 90-99% of the functionality? Yes....
American Glass really shines for being the first for new functionality, and for having the best artistmanship(That a word?). Otherwise, nothing to really worry about.

China makes your TVs, phones, pretty much EVERYTHING. Let us not be absurd and think that China can't blow glass too....
They CLEARLY don't originate designs, you can tell it's obvious. But they can copy and copy until they get it right, or close enough that the discount is worth it.
