A few questions about preparing cannabis for ingestion, please give me suggestions.

Hello everbody! I hope everyone is well.

I am open to all the opinions and suggestions that this beautiful group can give.

Im trying to remove the things inside cannabis that is causing me indigestion and heartburn. Im aware of water curing for 7 days with distilled water. Though I feel there is a more shorter and effective method to removing chorophyll and other impurities.

Does it make sense to wash cannabis with hot water beforehand? I saw somewhere on the web(cant find it right now) where someone uses a moka pot(expresso/coffee maker) to run the hot water through the cannabis, to "clean" and decarb at the same time before cooking, they do 3 cycles on low heat.

From my understanding the boiling point of water is less than the vaporization of cannabis. They state that even though the total weight decreases all the goodies stay intact. Has anyone tried something like this or similar? And been successful?

Is boiling water enough to decarb the herb? I was thinking of oven decarb, by the standard temp and time that many use here, 240° for 40 minutes and then running the herb through at least one cycle of hot water, but Im not sure if this is too much and will degrade the potency much. Or should I do it backwards, run through hot water, then oven decarb.

Im also interested in making tinctures, mostly alcohol. The usual alcohols that people recommend is everclear or bacardi 151, but I'd rather use better quality alcohol that does not burn like crazy. Iike a good quality 100 proof tequila(50% alcohol) or any other kind of alcohol. Has anyone tried tinctures with tequila?

Thanks everybody!!

Ive been wondering the same thing about cleaning up the herb before preparation, as I've been experiencing the heartburn and indigestion as well, and it really sucks. Another thing I'm looking to avoid is the ITCHINESS that can come from using bud from unknown sources.

I haven't been able to find a tried and true method but I did see a video of a preparation dipping the bud in hot water to remove chlorophyll and other impurities. Not sure what effect this will have on potency.

I think first and foremost the key is to use organic buds from a trusted source. Ideally there would be a way to clean the buds further without degradation, and I think there are different ways to accomplish this, but for now it really boils down to personal trial and error, as we simply don't have enough information available atm.

I haven't water cured yet, but am going to try it soon. A magnifying glass designed to view trichomes would be a good tool in determining any loss in potency from your chosen cleaning method, as would lab testing.

As I make finds in this area I'll report back.

Youre right!! As far as these things go, there is no proven method and it comes down to trial and error.

Thanks @strictly vapor for your post. I will also be testing out the methods that I use and will also post updates, so others that are curious will have some guidelines.

Im not really a big fan of edibles and ingesting cannabis, I used to love vaping but unfortunately I developed a nasty throat irritation. Ive switched vaping devices, lower temps, different strains, water tools, oil catridges, I even went back to smoking for a few, but the dryness, irritation and burning persisted when I inhaled it. I went to a specialist, to see if it was another issue and he said everything was great.

Which is great!

And now Im here trying to find different methods.
