Does the new mist's need time to warmup?
Someone who just got one that also has the mi said to me there was some waiting for warm up with his compaired..
Just checking :)
Might be completely wrong here but . . there is a 5% swing (might be 10% but I'm too tired to check) in each Milaana. There is a possibility your friend has a hot Mi and, not sure on this end, a colder MVT ?

When I use mine I generally give it a couple seconds when it is cold and then start drawing. The first hit or two is mostly flavor with little or no vapor. Then there is lots of vapor.
With concentrates I get vapor from the first hit and lots of it. Using the technique that paytonpenn posted I get great results with oil.
So in general I say no warm up but if you want clouds from the first hit and are using flowers then a tiny heat up of say 10 seconds or so might be appropriate.

@Crussell27 how much stirring and or rotating did it take to get the even extraction?
I mounted and "tuned" 15 coils last night. It was an eye opener for me and it is something I have to do. It adds about 15 minutes to each build but from now on every coil gets tuned. Tuned the coils give a central browned area. I'll post some pics later today or tomorrow. Hope to assembly 10 or 15 units today.

My MVT originally created a hot spot that extended from center to edge early on, and occurred rather easily if not careful with applying heat. Since the screen came loose and I repositioned it (slightly further from the coil, I believe), it seems that the hot spot has become more centrally located, moves slightly toward the edge as the load is consumed, and is less prominent until later in the session. This could be perception, as I have nothing to compare it to except my often-faulty memories, but I do believe I'm getting better extraction with lighter-color ABV.

Or, maybe I'm just learning how to use this thing properly, as I've also become picky about the grind and packing, and I've started stirring the load as well (usually achieving a couple more hits). But, whether the change is perception or reality, I'm getting great results. My wife is even liking this device, which may be the ultimate test.

I love the turbo tube because you have a bigger distance between the heat source and the flower and that means you can press the sensor for longer. This also allows you to shake the flower in the tube. No stirring required with the double screen added. I'm using it right now with a water piece without any water. Humongous rips. Taste is amazing every rip as well. Pure flavor with gigantic clouds.

I recently got a MVT from a fellow FC-er.

The only way it would heat the coils is to insert the battery with positive down, the usual way.
But it stayed on continuously.:hmm:

It would not heat the coils with positive up. Until, I noticed a tiny micro switch, at the bottom of the unit!
Dilemma solved!

Does anyone know why the cxt is complete, with the positive end down. :hmm:

Adding an instructional sheet to the unit, @mistvaporizer would complete an otherwise user
friendly :bigleaf:vaporizer?

A fine vaporizer.

@stark1 see www.mistvaporizer.com/instructions
If you notice something is missing please let me know so I can fix it.
When the positive pole is down it bypasses the power transistor (mosfet) and it is always on. That could be fixed but it would take another transistor and a larger circuit footprint. Cost wise it didn't seem justified.
If you want a more complete explanation of why it is always on with the positive pole down PM me and I'll give you a response that will glaze you eyes over and probably put you to sleep :)

@little maggie the list positions only change when someone is added or when a unit goes out. For each batch it takes about 4 weeks to make all the parts so you don't see any list changes during that time. The current batch is moving along nicely and I should have a dozen ready to ship Monday or Tuesday. Then another three dozen or so as fast as I can assemble, hopefully by the end of the week. So about 40 units should go out in the next week or two then it will be onto the next batch.

ok this is embarrassing. Custom frames 3 and 5 are spoken for but I don't remember who reserved them. Whoever it was please let me know, they will be ready later this week. The first 8 units are ready to ship!
One shipped this morning.
I've got quite a wait but could you explain what you mean by custom frames? Or how many pages back the info is.

He did some nice exotic wood trims on a few of the frames, and is offering them when your name comes up if you want to upgrade (I think it's $50 extra). They are posted a few pages back, or you can try searching for snakewood (one of the varieties offered)

I needed a way to check for hot spots so I got some hemp fibers and when I "vape" them I can get some darkening of the fibers which shows where the coil is hot. If I get a "hot spot" that covers 70% of the load I'm calling it good. Several rotations should give almost 100% extraction, I'm hoping. I did find that what looked good visually wasn't always good. I had a few that had a hot spot to the side which only covered 20 or 30% of the load. Some were fine as is.
This adds another 10 or 20 minutes to each build but it has to be done.
So this brings up another topic, is it worth offering hemp fibers on my website? I'm thinking $5/oz with $3-4 shipping. If no one is interested that's fine but I had to buy a kilo of fibers and that will last a long time so if you need some let me know.
