Multi-brand Vivant Alternate

Hello @Baron23 , thank you for your feedback. Please allow me to clarify a few things. The 1-1.5% defect rate is including all types of defects, that is why I stand by my statement that the problematic top caps or devices is very low right now. I haven't gotten around to seeing the numbers by specific defects.

The plastic is being looked into every moment our team is awake. We have performed multiple testing's ourselves and will release some videos to show the community our findings. As for the plastic turning white, we have dropped many top caps (used and unused) into different levels of Isopropyl Alcohol either directly or with equal parts water just to test the cause of the problem and have been unsuccessful so far in seeing the top caps turn white like the pictures sent to us. This leaves us to wonder if there is specific brands or if the isopropyl used that has this effect is not medical grade alcohol.. We are still in the phase of finding the exact cause so we can fix it therefore there hasn't been an official statement released from us because we are still uncertain at this point hence the reason we are asking for the communities patience as we are truly trying. This goes for all the different issues that have arised, please keep in mind we are only human too and doing the best we can at this point in time.
We have stated in multiple threads and forums of the material we use in and on the Alternate and I do not wish to go against the FC Rules and will honor what Stu said about discussing material safety elsewhere.
I am sorry (yes I truly am being apologetic again) for how you feel about us. I hope we are showing we are not your typical CS individuals and we are actually working on a solution as we have said many times but we wish too the fix was as easy as it seems.
Please be open minded as plastic turning white with ISO cleanage has a lot of different possibilities and we can't rule out the type of alcohol being used to clean it either. It is not in our character to push the blame so we don't often like to say things like this because we know there is still a problem and it still needs to have a solution/fix but it seems my explanations so far as not being accepted well to certain members and yes, I am sorry for that as I am doing my job the best I can.
I have in my lifetime experienced customer service where the company won't take any responsibilities whatsoever and the CS doesn't even offer an apology and this is not the type of feeling I want to give to other people. We apologize because we realized you have been caused an inconvenience by a company we represent so we feel it is the least we can do, to accept there is a problem and apologize.
I hope you will one day feel comfortable enough to purchase an Alternate and give us your honest feedback of the product as well or even another product we release down the line. Thank you.

Thank you, Vivant. That was a very nice response. I'm sure we all look forward to what your team's findings are and yes, in the meantime I am also going to adhere to the forum's rules and shy away from material safety.

Is there anything in the firmware update that I would need if I am satisfied with the timer??

I temp step 185C 195C-205C with 1-2 minutes at each step. I don't move up until vapor gets wispy.

Regarding more/thicker vapor I have 2 suggestions: Put the green "switch" all the way to the top.

2. Make sure the screw in the top of the mouthpiece is fairly tight. Too loose = more air less dense vapor.

I have 3 more observations:

The filling tool was well thought out and executed. Really helps keep the medicine where you want it and protects the places where it could gum up the works.

Compared to my conduction vapes (Solo, Air) this heats up really fast. Compared to a CFV you feel like the tortoise not the hare.

The battery indicator is the most accurate of any vape I own.

@Vivant you have made your entry into the market in a BIG way and we expect great things from you in the future.

Hi there!

I ordered the Alternate very early from a chinese seller, but the presale failed. I want to order another one. After reading all the reviews, I'm concerned cause of the plastic taste and the cracking or melting parts.
What do you guys think, should i wait until they worked on it or should i give it a try? Or would you recomend another dry herb vaporizer around 100 to 150 bucks with 18650 batteries?

I ordered mine thru heaven gifts also......Being in Canada it was my cheapest option seeing at the time it
didnt look like a Canadian authorized supplier was available....( now they are tho) .

I think they are the exact same product...but Im in the process to see if I can cancel the order seeing how it hasnt left China yet and Heaven Gifts has now said they have none in stock.

I was really excited to use this device.....I just recently received my medical marijuana card here and the producer sells the Mighty at cost ....Still too expensive for me ....but it might be a option.

Continued company bashing even after you were warned to stop. Warning point issued.

i thought exactly the same, now im sitting with a melted vape awaiting a refund, just dont bother, remember what your mam said, "if it looks too good to be true it probably is"

also to mash, get a mighty ive had mine since it came out, hits like a train lasts well and is safe to use, also is there a possibility that those people that think the alternate is great haven’t had access to any high end vapes? not judging just wondering why some many people are willing to risk the health.

edit: i know you have a herbalizer vape dr so that wasn’t directed at you

I have had access to many great vaporizers (Solo, Arizer Air, Ascent,Alfa,Milanaa,MVT, CFV, CFC Alternate and I rented a Volcano for several months when I first got my cannabis license.

I find myself reaching for the Alternate because it is simple to use. The plastic taste is gone and I enjoy the ease of loading And unloading.

My Alternate works great and I use it more than the CFV at the moment.

When I asked Randy at @PuffItUp he told me it was like a crafty but with replaceable batteries. Randy was not wrong.

what temps do you vape at? do you hit it on 428 for a full session? also the only vape there i would class as high end is the milaana and the volcano the rest are all made in china same sort of thing as the alternate, even the arizer doesnt have a sealed airpath

to clarify high end to me = herbalizer, mighty , hopper (when functional) sumlimator cloud evo milaana , logs are ok but microdosing aint for me, all those vapes will destroy the alternate

I also have no problems with the vivante. I have it set for 320 and possibly that's why I've had no melting. Also no plastic taste.
I do think the company needs to work on materials because other similar ones like the boundless ones haven't had these problems- although I don't use the boundless anymore.

So I was unable to get a response from mistvapor regarding getting a cooling unit replacement, bummer since I do think this vapor does a fantastic job in vaping dry material. Vivant, if you are able to help us that had the defective cooling unit, that'd be awesome. I'd rather not have to do a full return/refund since the alternate is legit, and as long as I know I am not inhaling toxic fumes, I' am good. Please PM me whenever you get this. Thanks.

For anyone else with a unusable cooling unit, I found out the boundless cfv mouthpiece fits but it doesn't lock. Currently using it with a rubber band to help hold it. Internal path is peek. If vivant had a glass or metal WPA I would just use it with a j hook

My mouthpiece oven ring is also looking to be melting. :|

Really was hoping this wasn't going to happen.

Hello @Ted_Stuffins Please feel free to contact whom you bought the product from to resolve your situation and if you aren't getting the help you need, feel free to contact me directly and I will be more than willing to help. Thank you!

Hello @sickmanfraud Thank you for your feedback. We are at the same time working on our next handful of products/accesorries along with another firmware update for the Alternate along with fixing the problems that have arisen but you should see the very next device available in a month or so. Thank you!!

Hello @Pistil_Pete, Going to PM you now, Thank you.
Even though I'm having no problems and really like my vivante I hope your company is going to resolve the melting plastic issue before releasing a new product. Or at least make it a priority to work on the melting. Given how many people are having the melting problem it seems pretty significant instead of the usual few problems that happen with a new vape.

Hello @little maggie , I am sorry this was lost in interpretation. I had mentioned on my previous responses that any and all issues especially the plastic becoming deformed is our priority at the time.
However, we have individuals on the design team who are also working on their projects for our future releases at the same time. I truly love my team as they are the best multi-taskers I have met in my career.
Rest assured, issues will get resolved first. Thank you -Emily

I bought the alternate off of heaven gate like 2 weeks ago. It's still in china. Now i'm seeing all these posts of melting plastic. If the plastic melted it had to go somewhere so those people absolutely inhaled plastic. What I've seen Is mostly only the mouthpiece melting. I have a cf mouth piece from the cf that was confiscated during a fire drill. Can i use this. Also I love higher temps.I didn't buy this vape to do low temps. I bought it for using it through a bong mostly at high temps. I already bought the silicone universal WPA for this. I mostly use it to help me go to sleep. low temps do not make me sleepy. So I can't just stay below 400f forever. This better just be a mouth piece problem. Because if not I've fucked myself over buying from china and releasing the payment before I received it. No way they will honor a refund.

I'll probably just get the wpa when it comes out and just only use it through that.

I hope that vivant comes out with a new mouthpiece before a new unit. I hope not to have this turn into a ecig version war with many different product variations thrown at the wall to see if any stick. I hope new products from vivant will have innovation. I think a mini cloud evo style with powerful even heating convection would be great. This market has been slow for innovation since the storz and bickel portables in 2014.

I have had my Vivant Alternate for two days now and the cooling unit is melting in the same place as everyone else's. It has been used 5 times.

When are we going to be able to buy the new cooling units that are made with the safer material?

Hello @Taz4101 , please see the response from us 2 posts above yours. Fixing the problems are our priority right now and that will be taken care of before anything else. I simply said that to @sickmanfraud not out of bad intentions but to let him know we haven't stopped working on future products at the same time. No, we are not going to ever "rush" out any devices, I think we have shown we take issues very seriously since the Alternate released early January and we solved the first issue which was safety timer setting and then as new issues arose, we are doing everything in our power to find the cause to offer the correct resolution. I had mentioned in a previous response that there are internal issues that are being looked into and for the community to please not jump to conclusion on the cause of the issue. As of right now, the defective ones we have back in our hands are all from the same batch so we are looking into this as its looking like it was a batch issue. I don't feel comfortable talking too much about this at this time because I am only giving you guys the info I know so far but there are new developments daily and we haven't been able to nail the cause right now so I once again ask for your patience along with the community. Also, I assure you we have a great team of innovators so you won't be let down. Thank you

Hello @Stinky , Please see my response right above this. I do not have an ETA as of right now, but I assure you this is our priority. I will update on here with new developments as they come along. I hope you guys can understand it is taking long because we don't want to bandaid the issue, we are looking for exact cause to determine proper solutions. Thank you -Emily
