Discontinued Zion vaporizer

Question for those who have a zion, especially one with the new heater configuration. Does the load need turning or stirring? I am able to use my Mi without needing to stir, but I do need to rotate the stem. I am curious if that is still needed with the zion, or if you can just leave the stem in and get an evenly cooked load.

Since I won't likely be around when the zion comes out, I am asking for the sake of my great-grandkids in 2107. I think they are really going to love it!

I have the new heater and you don't need to rotate it at all. Your great grand kids are definitely going to love it, you might enjoy it as well!

As long as you don't expect integrity and customer service, probably good vaporizer. Ryan Dunham is a scammer. Ripped me off on a warranty repair. Buyer Beware

Good! So you say you have a working prototype? Do you know how far they are from production?

By the way, how many people are we talking about? Is "they" mostly your engineer friend alone in his garage? Will this be a boutique hand-crafted product or do they aim mass production?

Yes we do!

That will seriously limit the questions I'm going to ask... :p

So is this battery single or plural? And to what other vapes are you comparing to?

I'm confused by the last part of the sentence... what high heat? Isn't it supposed to be a "CoolVape" regeneratively cooled? :)

More seriously can you already describe the air and vapor paths? Where do stainless steel and silver come into the equation? I hoped it worked like the bud toaster but it's not all-glass apparently...

And finally, do you have any idea of the projected retail price range?
JUST DONT COUNT ON CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND RBT HONOURING THEIR WARRANTY. RYAN DUNHAM SEND ME BACK WRONG, OLDER UNIT, AND KEPT THE MONEY FOR WARRANTY REPAIR. HE IS A JOKE AND CON MAN HIDING BEHING FUNKY NAME, RATSA BUDDHA MY ASS

Mod note: You have already voiced your frustrations in the Milaana thread and received a warning point for name calling. You have now continued to company bash. Warning point issued.

Hey folks. Just wanted to give a quick update. In extended testing the UHMW foam backed washer needed to have the inner diameter enlarged to reduce the back pressure on the knob. This is a simple tool to revise so new washers will be made this week. After reviewing the battery door and electrical compartment covers they have been deemed to thin to stay flat over years of service so they are being scrapped and remade. This is also a simple change and the new wood has been secured and will see the saw and planer this week. In parellel the electronics harnesses are being fabricated as well as a handful of units that will lead the first batch to obtain early customer feedback.

All good delays to ensure that the Zion will be worth the wait.

Hey folks. The new doors have been cut and are with the machine shop to have the magnet holes put in. The new does to cut the voltage knob washers is approved and the production will happen in the coming weeks. Electrical harnesses for 50 units have been 80% fabricated and will be ready when the wood comes off the buffing wheel.

Check the IG feed for the latest pics and vids

Please note RBT will be closed the next two weeks.

@little maggie sorry for the delay in getting your Zion shipped out. The voltage control knob thrust washer needed to be redesigned to optimize turning force. As @cybrguy noted I was on the road talking to retailers the past few weeks. Now that I am back in the shop with quality parts in-hand it won't be long.

This week the trial run of door magnet holes was evaluated. It was decided to add .015" depth to the magnet hole to optimize fit-up to the body. In the next few days the magnet hole and the fit of the cap will be validated. This will allow for the assembly of the 4 wooden parts next week. Next steps are sanding, routing, cap drilling, stash compartment lid fabrication, final sanding and buffing prior to electrical assembly. Electrical assemblies will be made in parallel. Scrapping and remanufacturing the doors has caused some delay but the improved quality was worth it :)

The waiting list is now closed as there is nearly enough demand to absorb the available Zion's. Folks on the waiting list will be emailed to let them know when the pre-order is up on the www store. Orders will be taken through 4/20. On 4/21 the orders received will be ranked in order based on the waiting list. Any additional units not claimed by 4/21 will then be sold at full retail price. To show appreciation to all the kick-ass FC faithful the pre-order price will be set at $349. On 4/21 the price will increase to $389 provided additional units are available.

Instead of scrapping the doors, could you please keep them? They could be really useful for the power adapter I'm working on. Thanks.

I guess that's all I'll get as an answer.

I signed up via Ig a little while ago, I never received any emails. Is this notification the first we should be getting or is there a confirmation of sign up that I missed? TIA

@SSVUN~YAH sorry for the bad communication on my part. For anyone that I missed please email me at rbtvape.service@gmail.com and you will be added to the list. I have allowed sufficient margin in the waiting list to ensure all the FC peeps can order a Zion.

@KeroZen sorry I didn't reply to your post but the old doors where already scraped. If folks Need to discuss business related stuff hit me up via email or give me a ring as the thread is more for about customers discussing Zion... which should pick up on the coming months :)

If I have neglected anyone in the past, please call or email me and I will make sure you are taken care of.

The control knob issue was first uncovered by @stickstones when under normal use the knob shaft broke off. On the old design there was clearance between the bottom of the knob and wood to allow for it to turn freely. This clearance allowed the knob to rock putting stress on the shaft would eventually break. The new design has a UHMW plastic thrust washer backed with low compression set foam. This provides a smooth surface for the knob to ride on as well as support via the foam. The initial washers had too much foam and caused too much back pressure causing the knob to turn hard as well as stressing the potentiometer. The latest washer has a larger ID removing foam and reducing the force. Pics on IG for all tech nerds who are interested.

I think I'm number 5 or 6. If I hadn't been willing to wait I would have asked for a refund. That's always been an option. Meanwhile RBT focused on and got the milaana going which is my primary vape. I've heard that the zion is even better and am looking forward to trying it soon.

Just as a reference- I waited around 17 months for my HI. And yes it wasn't prepaid but I know back in the days when kickstarter did vapes people waited as long as I've waited for whatever vape they supported.
I was hoping to get my zion by my birthday which was last week but whenever I get it I know I'll love it.

Sorry for the slow progress of late a dislocated back had me out of commission. Doc offered pain meds and muscle relaxers but I declined :)

Five trips to the Chiropractor and a ton of Advil and I'm back on my feet. I wish you all good health.

The good news is The transition of Milaana to @cannabis.pro is going smoothly. This frees my time up for Zion.

All of the 25 sets of Zion wood have been inserted with magnets and fitted together. The thicker doors fit tight to the bodies. The magnets have been precisely set with a reveal .035 inches which seems to fit perfectly with the bodies. (See Instagram) Sanding and routing will begin in the coming days. I plan to frequent here in the coming months to give progress updates.

I understand and appreciate peoples frustration with lack of progress. I am confident a conserted effort in the coming weeks will get the Flow of Zion's going. Thanks for your patience and support for helping make this part time hobby a sustainable one :)

Much appreciation and respect to all who are still patiently waiting.

@little maggie thank you particularly. Since I didn't make it on time for your B-day I'll make sure to include a little something :) Your words of encouragement always me work harder.
