NY MMJ rip off

Politicians who fought pot for years don't wake up one day and start doing the right thing. They are much more likely to take the smallest steps necessary to cover their butts and then mess that up. In many states MMJ is a sad joke.l

Maine allows out of state patients to buy from caregivers/dispensaries. I am a caregiver and sometimes I meet out of state patients in Kittery, Maine. Prices aren't too bad up here. $200-250 for an oz of high quality bud is possible.

Maine has been very good to MA patients. My old caregiver was as far south from me as Maine is North from me, so I should have gone to Maine more tbh. Now that rec is legal in MA, I imagine going to Western MA is easier than Maine.

How is a patient to be able to medicate at the astronomical costs for medicine? Who can afford to pay over $1000 a month for what you can buy for a couple hundred?
Do you vote? If so, I should think your path forward with respect to politicians in power in NY would be clear.

These bastards really do need to be run out of office.

This is an all-too-common problem. Legislators who are ignorant regarding cannabis, push for super restrictive and super expensive options that in effect, squash the mmj movement :(

MN is a prime example as State only allows 2 producers and no flower, only concentrates and super restrictive on what conditions qualify and no home grows-- they've got you by the balls...
Result: some patients have a monthly cost of over $2000, not covered by insurance of course.

The other tactic is the big delays in even starting a new MMJ program which was voted into place.

The current system forces you to be a criminal, who can pay $133 for 1ml vape liquid thats only 475mg thc. The politicians need to go

At first glance I read the thread title as "NM" rather than "NY" and was worried, lol.

One of the good things about medical laws in NM is that you are legal to procure meds from non legal sources.

I'm under the IL mmj laws and there is no set price that the dispensaries have to charge. I know of two that sell pretty much the same menu for the same price but the older and larger dispensary also sells a rotating "sale" menu for almost 50% less. This is the same high quality weed as the rest and a nice way to save some money. Standard prices for flower are $60 an 1/8 on the regular menu and $40 an 1/8 to $250 an oz when on sale. I use to pay a little less on the street but being legal makes it worth it to me.

I wish they would do that here. It's like there all in business with each other there is not competition with with the dispensary's only with the delivery services. The services aren't bad, but if you live in the boonie part of any state they can really hit you with charges, but it's still cheaper that a dispensary.

they are setting these schemes up like " insurance will cover it".... insurance is not touching living nature= try insuring wild nature! not gonna happen and they do not know any other way to control the uncontrollable...

Which dispensaries are you talking about that charge that much!? The most I've payed is $350 at ATG, and that's the most I'm willing to pay. I pay $250 otherwise. I do like ATG's gorilla glue and captain's cake, so it's worth it sometimes. But $400 is absurd.

Actually I stand a little bit corrected. For the last 6 months I haven't been because of the prices. Just check the www.420 site were we keep a google doc of all the MA prices looks like the MA dispensary's have actually come down about 50 bucks sense I've been. But still 350 is still up there. I can get the same oz from my delivery guy for 240 to my front door, no delivery charge. Still 110 cheaper, I'll still take it.

I doubt most of the delivery services in MA are paying taxes. Most of them are just "patients helping patients". Many of them come to Maine to buy from caregivers, then resell in MA.

One got arrested not too long ago. Bostons Best Buds.

http://www.patriotledger.com/news/20170131/quincy-best-buds-pot-dealer-out-on-bail

"Ray Crowell, 33, was arraigned Monday in Quincy District Court, after being arrested Jan. 26 for running an alleged "marijuana delivery service." He faces six charges for possessing marijuana, producing THC oils and baking THC into edible products. Crowell says he only sells to medical-marijuana users."

Actually I think my guy gets his stuff locally not sure. Got my taxes back about 3 weeks ago got a 1/4 pound. Split it up. Delivery guy got it wrong. Wasn't even gone a 1/2 hour with the fix, and he advertises over a 1 hour away.
