Just received my Bog Oak! Had to run home on my lunch break just to look at her. Shes a beaut!!! I will post more pictures of her later today when I get home and have more time to make a lengthy post. For now here's one quickie I just took. Gonna throw it on the power supply now to get warmed up, go back to work and it should be heated and ready to go when I get home again later today!

I do have to say, having a vaporizer with a piece of wood older than Jesus is a pretty cool thing. Thanks Ed!

Mine has arrived also. Sadly, appears damaged. The metal connection tube that the stems hook up to is loose and jumping around. Ed has been contacted.

Afraid to plug it in but it is damn small. and damn pretty. Just wish it was in fully functional order.
Talk about anticlimactic. So sorry to hear! We know Ed will make it right (and probably feels worse than you)!

If something is wrong I would expect it happened during transport. Would some kind of plug that goes over the core protect it against most forces that would stress it when handled rough? Don't know how the Woodscents is being packed though.

Sure it's not just the "expected rattling" Ed evoked earlier?

I sent him pictures. I am 99% sure this isn't right. The heater tube where you connect the stems is completely loose and bouncing around. The outter piece is completely loose and disconnected. Even the screen is loose and had fallen down bellow.

Edit. Yes, surely happened in transport. Yes, a core support inside should help during shipping.

I hate to pose the question right now when i am still stoked to try my WS as soon as possible but one of the things i loved about the PD was durability. It survived a few drops from my table. Is the WS design significantly more vulnerable to damage? If the WS is damaged like mine is but from user error and not shipping what type of cost might be involved to fix it?

That's definitely not right. I'd set the unit away and not use it until it gets fixed. My unit has the rattling but the tube is solid in the middle of the log and does not bounce around at all. Don't worry though I'm 100% certain Ed will get you set right. The man aims to please.

I have been an Ed customer since 2007 or 2008 I believe, i have no doubt he will take care of this unit. I agree with the above idea of using a core to support the tube during shipping.

But this does bring up slight durability concern for me from what i have been accustomed to in a log. It is probably worry for nothing, but i can't help but wonder what it would cost to fix if i had damaged it myself.

Back on a positive note the package was very complete. Tools, stems, wpa's, screens, and more. All very well packaged. The power supply and dial "feels" cheap but everything else is very nice. Not to mention Ed already said he is upgrading everyones power supply anyway i believe.

The unit is very small. Takes up very little space.

I guess it will be the Evo tonight. It has been a few weeks and i am itching for some water hits.

Is anyone else getting a high pitched sound from the heater when they have the dimmer set to lower settings? Mine as been doing it when I am below 7. It is very faint. It doesn't really bother me but I worry about safety.

Strangely, it does not do it when I have it hooked up to my VVPS.

As soon as the WS has a CE certificate and I have one at home I'll let you know :)

Good morning, sorry I didnt get back last night here, did my last session with my girl at the councilors last night, went well and glad we did it, then had dinner in the city, didnt get back til late.

@Mr. Me2 Lol they call it the Big Dam Bridge, thought we were a bit redneck and country down Mississippi, hmm not sure think they get that.

@sixstringsmash Thats a beautiful rig up close and with the varying tones in it, its a nice piece. A vape older than Jesus, who else has one of those huh! The biggest oart of the 12/3 PS will be in today and will ship out to you all tomorrow. Figure alot of you all should have em in hand by the end of the week then the fun can really get started.

@ArthurJ Good morning, glad it showed and as I said above the new PS will be there very soon my man!

@IAmKrazy2 Good morning sir, I have replied to your PM here, I do so hate this for you, you had to wait a few days longer than normal and when it shows its not working at all, ughhh this so stinks and believe me its not cool and so not what I wanted to do to you nor hear from you. I will get you right as I said in the PM. Thing is the Air path tube is pressed fit into the Ti base by a machine process. This is a solid and secure way of mounting the tube in the base. I checked it before mounting and giving a wiggle before shipping after bench test. This just means that I need to do a better job of checking them by wrenching on them to ensure they are solid before installing. There is no need for a support or insulation while shipping. I will get with my guy about the press. Alot of you may not remember the problems I had when introducing the wood solo stem with the metal tips, I tried this way and that way had a bunch out there that failed and gosh what a time it was before I was able to get them right. Once done they have been solid and still rocking. This is just a slight bump in the road to progress and success. Is a very good learning lesson as well. Yesterday I ordered a # punch set, as soon as I begin making more bodies I am going to stamp each and every one with a different #, each #'d WS will have a QC checklist where I have laid out all components and procedures for assembling and bench testing them before shipping out. All will have to check on this list and will be recorded for future reference for my own QC and also for warranty issues if any are needed to be addressed.

@rosedale That is strange I agree, I have sent you a PM as well and will get you fixed up and going, Dont sweat it and return it and we will go from there. I will get you right you can count on it!

I gotta split yall, got kids to pick up and take to school, my middle son has a butt load of strawberries he was selling for school that he has to deliver. Yesterday afternoon I had strawberries stacked in cardboard trays really large and wide, stacked from the seat to the ceiling and they all had trays of em in their laps on the way home.

Got my WS last Wednesday...only had a few hours at the mancave that day, and unfortunately I got one of the bum power supply's. Haven't been back to the cave until today.....plugged the WS into one of my UD power supply's, and 'voila' instant gratification. Just pinched a little nug, threw it into the 14mm stem and it killed! Dumped it out, nice and medium brown, looks like there's one more hit left if I crumble it........

One question @Ed's TnT, what is the wattage for your heater core?

I'm pretty sure my problem wasn't caused by damage in shipping because the outer part with the screen was wrapped separately from the central heater tube. Just wonder if your damage was a combination of damage in shipping and a looser central heating tube connection to begin with.

From what Ed said this would be correct. He advised it was secured and tested, but he is refining the process to eliminate the problem in future units. Beta product, small bump in the road.

Gosh today has been a long day, I have been turning til my back hurts today and I am yawning bout to go to bed. I had so much on my list to do today that I did a number on it but still didnt get it all done. Will say this though, I got a bunch of PS in today and will get everyone taken care of tomorrow. I just had enough time to get a heat up time chart. Will get temp to dial in the morning. Am an early bird kinda guy, my body wakes me at 4-5am most mornings. Will go over them all in the morning to ensure all operate normally before shipping em tomorrow. So what a freaking war horse this beast is, I am so excited bout the new PS, having all plugged up from PS to temp control to ext. to unit, I rolled temp control to max,

1 minute - 305 degrees
2 minutes - 433 degrees
3 minutes - 511
4 minutes - 560

from 5-8 minutes at max the WS temped out at 620 degrees.

I gotta get some rest, still have a lot of follow up to do here and emails and will get to those tomorrow. I just aint feeling it tonight, thankful to spell check for letting me know how terrible my typing is and for letting me know its bed time, good night you all!
