Probably. If your friend enjoys smoking a joint, the Vapcap will provide a similar ritual without the harshness of smoking and deliver a delightful and flavorful vapor from a device the size and shape of a cigarette.

I would say it's a great device for a newbie . .I got it and I'm a newbie. I was able to get great hits right away. What I like about it, as a newbie, is:
1. It's quick and simple. It does not take all day to get high with a vapcap. It's pretty hard to burn the herb.
2. It's a lot like smoking, ritual-wise, etc, it *feels* more like smoking than, say, a Volcano does.
3. It's efficient. I get mileage out of my herb. I consider a hit from a vapcap to be much more powerful than a hit from a one-hitter.
4. It stands up to heavy/all day usage. I've been using mine pretty much all day for several weeks. I've only had to clean it once, so far, and it was super easy (I have the glass one -used alcohol).
You'd think based on price and size that something like the glass vapcap would not make a good "all day" device . .but this is what surprised me most about it. It's a really good all day device. Every device has pros and cons and the main con for me in the vapcap is flavor. It's good but you really don't get that "amazing vape taste" that you can get with top quality herbs and other devices. The glass one is also breakable . .although it's not super flimsy glass or anything. For me, the pros hugely outweigh the cons.
I say at least get the glass one - you can't not be happy with it (imo).

Othello, that's one of my favorite games. Played it the other week with my friend on an old board from the '80s most likely. Great way to pass the time. But your right it does take quite a while to master that one.
I'm right there with you, since I got my glass VC it quickly became my all day device, then it broke...so I got the titanium tiped vong, and a good few glass spares and have yet to look back. In fact I was just thinking I need to sell on of my other vapes that gets no use since Vapcap came into my life. Vapcap is worth every penny I paid for it.

@hafalump I've loaned one to a friend, 69 year old, and I'll see how easy it is for him to pick up.
I explained all about how it works and as he has poor lungs I showed him how to achieve the lighter hits.
Told him to get as much practice with an empty bowl as he felt he needed and then try it loaded.
Made sure he understood the click and to respect it.
I've decided Honey Dippers are where the market's at, a nation of elderly wood turners must be right.

Since acquiring my Ti Woody it has become a go to for me during the day. It's just easy, quick and with Dynastash very convenient. The Dynastash fits great in your pocket carrying your VC and all the herb you will need for multiple days unless you're a heavy user. The VC also loads great directly from the stash. Just push it in to your herb and twist. Comes out full no problem. Plus the stash is a VC stand too which is awesome and the magnet really decreases the reset click time. It's great for a quick 5 minute sessions. For me I heat low on the cap always obeying the click and my material is always fully extracted after 4-5 draws. Draws are never hot. Taste is probably the only area where the VC doesn't shine but even then it's decent for sure and the effects are strong and solid as well. Cleanup is ridiculously easy IMHO. I've probably had well over 100 sessions and it's not even close to needing any kind of cleaning. I could honestly see going 3-6 months of heavy use before you would actually have to do it. It's also ridiculously easy to take apart possessing very few parts. It's a beautiful example of pure working simplicity. It's definitely my DD at this point. That wasn't my initial plan but the VC is just soooo convenient. I do manage to keep 2 of my other vapes in the rotation (mainly for night time) but it does require a conscious effort on my part to make sure they get there turn.

Thanks for this, such a timely mini lesson. I got the dynastashER and was really curious if people used the other chamber for their herb. Brilliant that it makes packing it so easy!

Had a vapcap disaster this morning. Last nite I tried getting my woody into the silicone og mp and wasn't having any luck. It was a losing battle bc it was such a tight fit. I lubed it up with a little bit of burt's bee's wax and managed it in all the way eventually and left it as it was overnite. This morning when I got to it I realized I was in trouble. There was absolutely no movement whichever way I approached it. Finally managed enough of a pocket of space that I was able to bite the silicone while pushing the mp out. Mouthpice came out with a triangle shaped chip broken off
. I had one of the dark exotic wood mouthpieces that had the deep texture groves and it just couldn't tolerate the strain. It's so fustrating, I can't get a nice seal around the mp unless I spin the vapcap a certain angle or I get a whistling noise. Wonder if those temporary fillings they sell over the counter may work in patching up the chip? I'm not very handy so any easy suggestions? BTW, I think the broken piece should still be inside the silicone mp. It didn't come out with the rest of the mouthpiece, would it be better to find it and glue it?

man, i think i fucked up buying the glass og vaporcap when puffitup was sold out...i am not big on the look of it...do the other material versions preform better?

@almost there do you have pictures of it? I was trying to follow along but I don't understand what broke.
@WakeAndVape that was one of the reasons I went with a uni version to start, the look and durability (I know I would break a glass one, I've dropped my wood one 3 times already lol). I can't speak to performance of the glass VC but I'm sure they all pretty much run the same minus the Omni that you can dial in the airflow.

Sorry to hear that. I'm assuming you were trying to use it with glass. Is this correct? If that is the case and your using it with a 14mm I would suggest an o-ring. One that fits snuggly around the body but is thick. Works awesome push it in and it even stands up solidly in place.
If it were me I'd get a new mouthpiece. I wouldn't even think about putting glue or any kind of filler on any of my vapes near where I breath in.

I'm currently waiting on Matt to let me when my special order gets in and I'm waiting to see if I make it on to phatpiggies new list hence I'm not making an order for a replacement mp immediately. I'll just have to deal with it till I can determine what parts and accessories I'll be needing for all my customs. As for asking for special consideration, this incident was completely my own fault and it wouldn't be right to try to negotiate any kind of special treatment. Thanks for the advice nonetheless, what are these large 0 rings you are referring to? I'm completely new with water attachment usage so pictures or links would be great.
@Creeper its a small chunk of the mp that broke off. It's shaped like a triangle so it's exposing the last o-ring that is holding the mp from falling off and a little bit of the condenser.

The MP isn't subjected to much heat, so I believe it would be safe enough.
It surprises me that your OG mouthpiece is that tight of a fit over the wood MP, mine went on with ease.
I cut my OG mouthpiece in two, and use the short tube shaped piece around the body of my VC to facilitate the fitting of a Teflon 18/14 adapter from a Sublimator, which then fits all my glass.
I stretched the short tubular piece of OG mouthpiece around a marker pen and stirred it around in some boiling water to loosen it off a little, but even before the stretch it fitted over my mouthpieces and slid up to near the carb hole with relative ease.
This works fine on all my VC.
Perhaps the OG mouthpiece has changed since I got mine?

I've used glass and every Ti tip that's come out.
For me the latest Ti is way better than the glass.
Don't get me wrong the OG performs well and for the money you can't go wrong.
I went Ti for the same reason as @Creeper I break glass.

@WakeAndVape: I've just started testing the new Ti tips myself. I need to experiment more, but they definitely offer more convection and longer lasting flavor than the Original Glass model.
Older Canadians will know what a "stubby" is... I present the stubby 14mm VonG. Which is about as small as I could make it with a carbhole. While it's cute, I'm sure it'll pack the same punch as a regular length VonG. Great things come in small packages.

About breaking glass, Dynavap has sent me a replacement body. I tried to clean my OG with boiling water and the VC did not like it... George and Matt offered me a new body 'in exchange for my experiment in the name of science'.

ISO alcohol and a cotton swab to get the glass body makes it incredibly easy. I don't know who mentioned it in here but I keep a dropper bottle of grain alcohol (Everclear) and I just switch out the condenser tubes.
