Does not work for me. Holding it just went to heat and then turned off heat. Had to go through the time but I had just turned it down to 2 minutes.
The box came with a start up card and the rest of the manual is online or in a pdf. I would like to see a card with the button instructions easily handy. Like press and hold power button until beep to turn on heat or (which I just noticed but haven't tried) press the power button 5 times to turn it off. I can make a list of these myself but I'd like one to come with it.

yeah, doing that didn't work for me either. Tried numerous times but it never responds to any button presses while it's on.

As for the grinder/loading tool, it's a cool idea but in a way more messy cause stuff gets stuck in various places in the different layers. Mostly I use my SLX grinder and a Doob tube or small bottle.

I am having trouble with my usb. Need to fiddle before it works. Anyone else?

I am glad someone mentioned the power button puts the unit on or off if you click it 5 times. I was unable to do the firmware adjustment with the new firmware until I figured this out! Thanks!

This is about to become the next session circle jerk!:rofl::clap::brow:
Love to see new companies innovating and challenging; any response boundless? Jk

But seriously wow a couple years ago the flowermates were the undisputed champions of the $100 beginner vape... Look where we are now with the alternate :)))

Hi all,

Is it possible to change from Fahrenheit to celcius?

Has anyone had any luck removing the white 'alternate' logo on the device?

Sounds good though, will link my brother to this thread for him to read as he looks for his first vape.

"Shift between °C and °F: If you raise the temperature to 220 °C and continue to press the up button, the temperature reading will turn to the lowest Fahrenheit (158°F). Equally, if the temperature decreases below 70°C, the temperature reading will turn to 428°F automatically."

Would be nice if the manual listed all button combos. How do I turn it off mid count down?

I totally agree. The info about buttons is available but you have to look for it. I posted above that it says that clicking 5 times turns it off- that's supposed to work mid countdown.

Just clicking power five times mid-countdown is not correct. You have to stop the heater first by holding the power button for about four seconds, then you use the five clicks of the power button to turn it off immediately, or just leave it and it will auto shutoff in about a minute.

Remember, however, that if you turn it off with the five clicks, you will have to turn it back on with another five clicks before you can use it again.

Just wondering- is Vivante a Chinese company?

Which just points to how unclear the instructions are. It says to press the button 5x to turn off and nothing about turning the heat off first. For me it's hard enough to pick out the directions on the pdf for using the buttons without the instructions being incomplete. Some of you are good at and like trial and error. Unfortunately I'm not one of them.

A double post! I didn't notice mine was the previous one. Can someone give me instructions on how to delete a post? I still haven't figured that out.

Modnote: Posts merged. You can't delete a post, reporting it works just fine.

According to their web site, they are an American company, but I'm pretty sure the units are manufactured in China. I've also read elsewhere on this thread that they will not honor any warranty on units coming directly from China; only on units purchased from them or one of their authorised resellers like TVI.

Almost all vapes seem to have components from China even ones that say they are made in the US. I haven't looked at the warranty- problem should. But, if true, where does that leave those who bought from DH gate?

It seems like almost all vapes no matter where they are made use components from China. I looked at the warranty and it's vague. I was buying something earlier in the day and the company had a message saying the warranty didn't apply to ones bought anywhere else. The vivant one says, among other things, that it needs an original purchase receipt. It's not clear how they define that.

Yay my order from dhgate has been shipped. :leaf:

Are vapes (e.g. Vivant-Alternate) bought on DHgate "real"?

If they are, are Alternates bought "gray market" firmware upgradeable ? Or does Vivant note the serial numbers and not upgrade if not bought from authorized dealer (e.g. Puffitup.com)?

I have one on the way from Randy, but a $60 is a GREAT deal even if it has no warranty. Maybe a gift?

"Are vapes (e.g. Vivant-Alternate) bought on DHgate "real"? "
Almost all the vapes comes from China, the vivant from dhgate comes without warranty and the vt4 sony battery, but is build in the same production line of the ones of the western resellers. It's up to you to decide if you prefer a faster delivery and a warranty or to pay less. The same for all the other brands, but since the resellers are sponsors of a site of public utility like FC, let's feed them.

Hi guys,

I'm also interested to know if it's safe to purchase an alternate from DHgate?

They aren't defected units from the Chinese factory not up to standard to be shipped to vivant?

Do they still undergo the ultrasonic cleaning process? Not a worse plasticy taste than an original?

Have any of the people who purchased theirs off of DHgate got any comments on their experience or reviews of their device?

The lack of warranty isn't a problem as I'm located in the UK and having to ship back to America and pay customs taxes would cost more than reordering a new one from DHgate anyway...

Any information is appreciated.

Thanks,

VanCough

Hello @little maggie , My name is Emily and I work here at Vivant. First off, I am sorry it seems like we did not make things too clear on our website. Rest assured, I will make sure to relate the message to our web team and have the issue taken care of.
As for warranties, we will only honor warranties on devices bought through us directly or through one of our authorized resellers with the original purchase receipt. (The team is currently working on putting up a page on our site to display all our authorized resellers so it can be easily accessed by everyone)

If you buy the device from a company that is not a direct authorized reseller through us here in the U.S., unfortunately we cannot guarantee if the device is authentic and we won't be able to warranty the device.

Hello @VanCough , As we have stated, unfortunately companies selling through DHGate are not direct authorized resellers of our company here in the U.S. so there is no way for us to tell if the devices being sold on there is authentic, if they have problems or the process those devices went through, therefore we also aren't able to warranty those devices.

As for warranty on a manufacturer defective device being bought through us here in the U.S., we are able to process the warranty and issue a return label to cover the shipping for your defective device to be shipped back to us if in fact the device is found to be manufacturer defective. Our warranty team will be more than happy to assist in that situation.

I hope these answers helped with most of your questions, please feel free to let us know if you guys have any further questions or concerns in regards to the warranty process or any other matters.

Thank you!!
