Aside from the casing system, can someone elaborate on the differences between this and say, the project. Believe me, I love the Project, so this intrigues me as well.
ill just tiptoe around the rules and say, very similar in technology of temperature control obviously since you can use the same mod/firmware for the project. differences in the heater specs like amount of coils, setup of air in take and general air path. 18mm ground glass connection, where the male joint is the bowl. tubo comes with everything preset and ready to rumble.

Enjoying the tubo very much. Exclusively thru water for now..still not feeling too well to run it dry.

Two observations:

-none of my 4 18to14mm reducer make a tight connection with the tubo female, which I think must be ISO standard. Either the reducer are too short or too thin.. One piece is way longer but that one touches the base of the bowl..
Would love to try the tubo reduced w 14mm micro dose stuff.

-the OGB 18-18mm male adapter fits nicely - but if I don't tamp the load pretty much - and I'm saying I'm using the tubo upside down, so that it rests on the adapter from above (so no risk of material 'falling down') - it looks like it swirls around due to the shorter joint size (it does seal very well - but there's gotta be a small gap between rim of the joint and base of the bowl). I could see that almost every time I lift the tubo from the adapter: there's material on the rim all around.. Not only in the bowl. Not a major annoyance but I would like to fix that. This is only happening with said adapter.. Have to try out another I have. Just covers my theory of ISO size.

All of my stems do fit until now and I love this thing. So all good just some info. :)

P.S. No, it's not the 'blowback phenomenon' - I lift the tubo while finishing the draw.
so i tried the 18-14mm reducers i have and they are slightly too long and dont make a tight connection therefore. however if they were shorter by a few millimetres it would work without problems. unfortunately i dont see myself cutting these down... maybe sanding, but glass dust is the worst, lets not!
maybe its time to take @DDaves offer and send him a unit to design one of his kits, would people be interested in that?

Absolutely. I have Ddave's mods for the milaana and especially for the EQ. They make a huge difference.

And what is "the project". Is it a secret?

what is mind boggling is the fact that within one day it made it from my home to the US borders and is now snailing around... priority my a. :) any day now!

on the builder front: have prepared 17 heaters, my fingers hurt from coiling. cut a million glass tubes and am about to fire polish them. more evics have landed, glass pieces are incoming as well! shells are being sanded as we speak (not, since i am typing currently, hahaha). next week ill go to the cutter to stock up on all three wood shells. and then there is a wild wrapper wrapping silicone tubing with different color patterns, a joy to watch! ddave is contacted :)
next update will have some pics :)

To the tubo owners out there: how do you get optimal vapor out of your tubo? I've had mine for some time now but i have to hit it really hard to get good vapor. I end up hitting it so hard that I'm out of breath near the end of my hit.

Hey :) ! Mine TUBO is in the making yet,so i dont have one,but i had this issue with some other vapes when i hit them too hard in the beginning of the hit .
You can start drawing really slow, until you are satisfied with vapor density and then continue hitting hard :).

Hey man!
I've been using mine almost solely thru water for now (d20) - so my dry use experience is very limited.
I usually don't hit it too hard but with a constant slow to medium draw. You can definitely go fast with the tubo - especially after the first draws when the glass tubes have soaked heat. My temps are usually 200C, 220C, 235C and it produces super dense and tasty clouds thruout the session. Keep in mind that the temps are being measured at the coils NOT at the load where vaporization happens. So the temps displayed on the screen are slightly higher than they "really are" - the further the load is away from the heater, the more the temp would drop - in theory.
In my setup I mostly use domed basket screens or RBT screens (so all rimless - but that should not make a big difference to the stock screens). Use them regular like a basket, inserted as close to the rim as it can get, minimizing bowl size.
Slightly tamped loads - ground or nugglets.. Eats it both. :)
I feel like it's producing best results after the first 20s draw - or heat soak without a draw. After that one the vapor curve goes straight into the sky...:whoa:
Try to start at 220C or even 235C. This should really get your load going! Beware not to cough :p (see that vid where @BuzzDanklin is hitting it and you will know ;))

Hope this helps!
:peace:

Edit:

BTW: FWIW, I really find there is no NEED to stir with the tubo. I don't get any hotspots, no charring yet - pretty sweet. You get a damn even roast. Though I do stir from time to time when I'm looking at the load wondering why taste and color is still that nice... Keeps the flavor like crazy.
(I'm sure you could go a bit higher temps wise... But I'm so satisfied ending at 235, it would knock me out even earlier:ko:)

Sorry for double post. Could not edit anymore...

Hung out with Afroman again. Poor guy told me he's steaming all the time and like to have some cool water.
Miss Orbiter came around the block and shouted: "Got milk in return, handsome? "As much as ya wanna" he said "but don't turn me on too much with that shiny bubble booty... it might even turn creamy".

Bet next time I see him, he's looking for a different (gl)ass. Not that much of a romantic dude. Anyway, He asked me to take a pic with her for his Snapchat account:

I gotta admit, that was some dirty talk shit... well, they wanted it both - that's what I call a win win. ;):D

Great Sunday to everyone!:)

For sure interested! I love his stuff! I'm going to be using his other kits to see what fits and works here, but it should be very similar, if not identical to, the SSV kit.

@srama21 - I like to start my hits slowly just after it overshoots my set temp. Then once I feel it warming up I huff on it and get as big a hit as I want. You can go slow too, but I love hitting it hard since so few vapes can accommodate it! I still hit the 20 second timeout on occasion. I use a generously sized load and have mine set at 435 to 455.

Friday I had a bowl with this thing that floored me. I put a pretty full load in and did my usually whole nug thing. The third hit is almost always big, but on my heavy hitters like the Herbalizer and the Evo I tend to get a nice body rush that tells me I have finally gotten 'there'. But Friday night with this thing was the first time I've ever gotten that off a portable! This vape is ruining my vape test schedule because I keep reaching for it!

Well crap. Here we go again. I just sent him a PM to place an order. This just looks too good.

You'll be receiving a PM with an email address to place your order. I only know this because I placed my order this past weekend. Hopefully, you'll be lucky enough to be in line for one from the current batch, as I was. Mine is supposed to ship in about 2 weeks.

I'm still on my honeymoon with the Mistvape Touch, which I really love, but the Tubo just interested me too much to pass it up.

I use the Ddave mod for my milaana. I'm pretty sure he includes the eq caps with it. It's too bad there isn't a way to just buy the caps without the other screens.

This may be answered in the two pages I still have to read before I am up-to-date. The Basket screens from the DDave kit and the EQ basket screens are NOT the same size.

Here are 2 links to basket screens. PV is out of stock, but they have a basket screen only product :

Planetvape offers the option of being notified when the screens are back in stock.

Edit: Wasn't answered before.

Both Puffitup and planetvape.ca are both FC sponsors.

I'm not sure why you think the Ddave ones won't work. He has both EQ and Milaana kits and each includes basket screens that fit 18mm stems. I've used them with stems for other vapes with no problem. He sells them separately in orders of 5.

I have an Arizer Extreme Q and I have a @DDave mod v 2.5 and v 3 (vapor cooler) and the screens are NOT interchangeable.

Further, I have some extra (aftermarket) 18 mm and 14 mm stems for the Milanaa and MVT and the @DDave basket screens do NOT fit in either of these items.

This post is to correct information. It is, in no way, shape or form anything negative about @DDave or his screens.

If you purchase a @DDave kit (which I recommend) and you are "tough on" or tend to loose things like screens, purchase more to save frustration and postage.

EDIT:
I believe it was on this thread where someone mentioned a stem too long or not making great contact with the female joint. I would suggest purchasing a roll (or 6) of teflon tape. Wrap the tape around the stem a few times and: presto a stem fitting more snugly.

The teflon stays on the outside of the vapor path so I have no problem with it.

? My 18mm stems work well with the screens from Ddave. Anyway, hopefully I'll be finding out soon if the Ddave screens I have work with the tubo. :)
I'll be getting the woodscent this week and then, hopefully, in the next few weeks the tubo in beautiful colors.

Usually all glass pieces differ slightly from each other as they're blown and handmade. You can press and deform the screens to make it fit in almost every 14mm/18mm stem. It's pretty easy.
So I don't think there's a general "this works or does not" rule. Every screen I tried to install worked without much effort.:)
(As long as you don't try to make an 18mm fit a 14mm -or vice versa- of course ;):p)

I mentioned that my @DDave stem did not fit. And indeed, that is exactly what I did.....teflon tape. Not my favorite solution, but it does work quite well.

I also got my confirmation on my order, and it is coming from the next batch!! Can't wait!!

I broke out some DDave toys last night. Using a 14mm stem with the reducer doesn't work because the lip on the reducer hits the top of the wooden box before it creates an air tight seal.
Yep. That's what I reported when I received my unit. Tried 4 slightly different reducers, none fit. @funkyjunky has already contacted @DDave to find a solution! :)
