Got my Mighty back form an RMA so here's some thoughts on the IQ from a solid two weeks of use:
I am in LOVE with this thing. At first I struggled a bit with the tight draw, but it wasn't too big of a curve for me. The IQ is dead simple to use. The only major variable is pack density. You have to pay attention and not pack it too tight, especially if you're using a water tool. A too-tight pack combined with the added draw resistance of a water pipe can be problematic.
Other than that I have almost no complaints. I run it hot, starting sessions at 385 and going up to the full 430 by the end of a session. I can get it to produce massive clouds and/or milk up a bong like no one's business. Yes, the IQ itself heats up quite a bit but the cool zirconia mouthpiece (I use the 10mm extended) makes hitting it easy even when holding it is a little uncomfortable.
One actual hardware issue I have is that the unit will shut off if I set it down too hard or give the bottom door a solid tap. At first I thought that I might have had an accelerometer that shuts it off if dropped, but it's so touchy and sensitive that I think it must be a badly designed battery compartment. It seems to lose contact with the battery and shut off.
In the final analysis this thing is now going to be a part of my main go-to gear. It's excellent for taking on the go and the guys in my band (dedicated smokers) actually like using it (they hate the Mighty.) Looks like the Mighty will be relegated to my "around the house" vape and the IQ will do the heavy lifting when I'm out and about.
Win/win!
Overall rating: 9 out of 10. With some minor tweaks the IQ could easily dethrone the Firefly and the PAX.
Davinci battery question. I'm charging the IQ batter to 100% but cannot get that to show of the IQ. Anyone else? The last DOT does not light up. I know it's picky but this device is expensive.
Also, I cannot get that batter to charge in the device. The batteries ONLY seems to charge onmy usb charger. Seems to be the case for the other 18650's I have purchased. They are 3000MAH vs 3500 MAH but I don't think that matters. I love the device but the batteries have really been a pain in the ass.
Also....
I added a 3000mah battery and it was 3/4 charge . Left over night in my truck. Next morning the battery was dead. Why? Got down to 45 degrees that night but still.. the device was "hidden" and not exposed to the cool weather.
Anyway, is anyone else having this issues? Thanks
These batteries can be finicky. I use 18650s in various gear and sometimes they just don't top all the way up. Not only that, but battery meters are notorious for being inaccurate.
Some of my batteries never light that last light on the IQ, but they seem to last just as long as the ones that do, so I don't sweat it.
