Multi-brand Vivant Alternate

As I read this thread I find myself confused. Is it easy to use? Because between the firmware and different adjustments it seems pretty complex.
Very easy to use. 5 clicks on and the rest of the button presses are very simple. Upgrading the firmware is very easy too, I really suck with computers and I was easily able to update my firmware. The people over at @Vivant have made a very user friendly device. The upgradable firmware is a huge plus and it should not scare even the least tech savvy people away. I usually hate apps on vapes or anything similar but in this case it's a huge posative feature and it's executed in a way that makes it very easy for the user to figure out.

My experience was exactly yours, I think. Plugged the Alternate into the port, clicked on the upgrade button, and boom. It was done in less than one second. My thought was "Okay, did anything happen or....?" Followed the simple instructions to set the timer, and worked exactly as promised. Seriously impressed with the software.

This sounds like a nicely designed and budget friendly vape. I've been using ecigs for years so something that uses those batteries really appeals. Really low smell appeals to me a lot as well. If altering your airflow changes the convection/conduction mix then, well, wow. It comes down to vapor quality now.

I've had good success converting cigarette smokers into eciggers and have been trying to expand the minds of some ganja smokers. They have really liked the Mighty until I tell them the price. A vape that is straightforward to use like the Mighty but at this price with replacable 18650's, low smell, some variety to the experience in a small package and from a company that appears to care about improving and adding to it could work great to change some habits.

I guess there's only one way to find out how the vapor is. I'm really going to stop after this. I swear:doh:

Mine has shipped. I've decided that there is no cure for my VAS. It was only a few weeks ago that I was sure it was cured with a zion and Ed's log coming my way. Then this week I ordered 2 vapes I'd never considered or heard of before. I blame FC. Who would even know about these vapes if they didn't hang out here?
PIU has fast shipping so I expect mine soon. Not sure about the session aspect. So far I haven't liked the ones I've bought and tend to end up using my on demand vapes. Will report soon.

Your feedback will also be valuable for my own vas since I also turned away from session models but could really use one for newbies and groups... I also succumbed to the Tubo like you though I certainly don't need it, what was the other one you caved on this week?

This and the Tubo. I also should get my Ed's log and Zion shipped soon. And was going to buy the RBT log when it comes out. I just need to stop reading about any vape I haven't heard of.
One thing that appeals to me about this is the airflow. I didn't realize, until reading this thread, that the reason I don't like the Boundless vapes is the restricted air flow. I think all the session vapes I've owned have some restriction. It will be interesting to try one that doesn't.

The game.

Has been changed.

This is a universal WPA from delta3dstudios.
**eta** forgot shutouts to @Ratchett

Granted.... not as cool as @Vape Dr. (I'm a little scared to start drilling into my only mouthpiece in case of inevitable f up)

But it works amazing!!! I can milk my glass with the best of em.

Now I would still prefer a GonG (looking at you @Vivant... :brow:) but this this is just as worthy!!!

Cheers!

Mine will be here Thursday so I'll be able to answer this myself. But I read a review where they marked this down because it has a plastic favor that wouldn't go away. Have any of you experienced that? They recommended something called the Utillian 720 which is much more expensive. I'm not looking for an expensive vape and am not interested in it. But the plastic flavor concerns me.

I'm on a break right now, maybe I will pick this up when it's available here.

Also I am very interested what happens after this vape :)

The Utilian 720 is just a rebranded Weeke Fenix.

I am sure there are people who have both who can help us all with a comparison. I do not need this broken down point by point, just the headlines.

Randy at puffitup.com has only good to say about the Alternate.

@Vape Dr. how about it?

Thanks

Any idea if other dry herb pods (flowermate, odin or boudless) fit this unit?

I'm currently using flowermate pods in Xmax Pro V2.

I saw that too. Have a look at posts numbers 182 and 183 about it. Sounded kind of suspicious to me so I asked The same thing. I would say dodgy if I was on the other side of the pond. I get mine Thursday also So we can compare notes. I'm not worried about it.

from the posts earlier, it is suggested that that review was just shilling for a house rebrand that directly competes with the Vivant. Other than that place, I have not heard about a plastic-y taste anywhere.
You can go back a page or two and see what I had to say before about Toronto vaporizer but yeah.. they rebrand the $45 fenix into the utillian 720 and their Zeus smite models are all just flowermate rebrands.. they charge more for those vapes than what they are worth by a long shot and then put out reviews that put down vapes that are in the same catagory, and suggest their utillian 720 which I'm pretty sure they say is full convection, it isn't lol. Or the Zeus models which are literally flowermate v.5 pros rebranded and marked up. Their site has been reliable in selling me items in the past.. but their reviews are utter shit.

I will tell you from first hand experience that the utillian 720 better known as the fenix is not anywhere near as satisfying to use as the alternate. It also doesn't have replaceable batteries, adjustable airflow or any of the cool features the alternate has.. it also tastes a bit like plastic when you first get it and all 3 of the units I have had all offgassed on the highest temp when I ran burnoffs.. the alternate never let off one fume or even a hint of a plastic smell when I ran it through 5 minutes at max when i first got it.

Moral of the story is Toronto vaporizer is a safe site to order from but their reviews and also their rebrands shouldn't be trusted. They are taking a vape that I can get for like $30 if I buy 100 of them from china and selling it for closer to $200.. that's the utillian, the Zeus models are just flowermates so I'm sure the mark up is atrocious there as well. Please disregard this site in the future when looking at reviews, they are obviously bias..:2c:

Hope everyone is having a great day.
Peace :peace:

Maybe Vivant can clarify on the type of plastic used. According to the Toronto vape review the plastic is not as temp resistant as some plastic like the Mighty. I looked at the sheet they listed and the temperature it was safe up to was not very high at all. I'm sure the Vivant plastic stays below the safe temperature limit but I'd like to know forsure before I purchase one.

Edit: Here is the sheet TVAPE posted with their review. http://www.boedeker.com/polyc_p.htm According to the specs the plastic is safe up to 121C which is low considering the oven on most vapes goes to 220C. Now the plastic won't get as hot as the oven but I'm curious what temp the plastic reaches.

Not in my experience. I agree, the Zeus are just rebranded FM, but at the time I bought it (about a year ago...maybe??) they were both the same general price of $159. I know you can now get an FM Pro for less, but at the time that's what it was.

I never really warmed up to that vape, tell the truth, and I donated it to a fella who works with indigent MMJ patients and he provides them with donated stuff. Good use for it.

Cheers
