Underdog Log Vapes

I can't imagine an easy way for you to make them cost effective, which probably explains why you don't offer them now. It's a whole other 'production line' that would only have one item in it, and no extra manpower, right? Not easy.

With the vapes themselves, I sort of figure you can go into 'core mode' and build cores in batches, or 'turning mode' and turn out logs, and the display dimmers and display cables use the same hardware and wiring, it's just a matter of getting into the right groove. But this would be a whole other thing with a whole bunch of other parts.

A ten-turn dial, though... :luv:

You nailed it in one.

We can set up and batch run cores and the rest but the VVPS was a more complex assembly with more things to go wrong and more things to fail in service. At the end of the day it's just Underdogette, myself and a part-time shop helper to get everything done and we just don't have the manpower to do things like the VVPS.

It's been a while since I've been on here.. Good to see that UD is still at the top of the plug-in forum. It's my favorite vape by far (paired with glass of course) not only for consumption, but also for not being an eye sore. Thanks for sharing logs with the world @underdog and @underdogette!!

I'm wondering how everyone is cleaning their NonG stems. I've been using qtips dipped in ISO to scrub the inside, but can you just soak the whole stem in PBW or ISO? If so, do you take out the screen first or leave the screen in while it soaks?

Also, are the SS stems press-fitted into the nylon? I wouldn't think there's any adhesive but it doesn't hurt to ask. I would be hesitant to soak the stem if it bonded somehow.

Stay ;pd;;pd;;pd;;pd; my friends

Heya Hyphy long time no see!

Glad you're still enjoying your Dog. For NonG cleaning I like to put them in a small container of iso with a little rock salt and then shake for 10+ seconds, remove and rinse. You can do it with the screens in or out but I usually just leave them in. If I were to take it out I'd just toss it in the same container with the NonG anyways.

Yes the SS tips are press fitted into the various stems so friction holds them in place so no worries there.

On a related note (adhesives) since some may wonder - we haven't had any adhesives in UDs or accessories for quite a few years other than the white craft glue that holds the leather bottom on. :2c:

I also bought a stopper off aqualabs to act as a carb... I suspect I'll mostly be using one at a time but I will of course throw a demo on here of the double. Maybe I can find (or jury-rig) one with even more hook-ups...

I have a stopper for mine but you an also use a (insert joint size here) bowl & either plug the hole with Blu Tac or a glue of some description. Since you usually get one with each piece of glass ordered plug one with silicone & use it for cleaning your piece with PBW :2c: :peace:

any australian users can please share what plug they are using? I am unsure, otherwise i will have to go to a electrical store and ask them what they recommend [and i have medical trouble leaving my home] i am technology challenged.

:)

You will need a 12v 1a+ power supply with a 2.1mm jack at the other end. You will likely have one lying around the house mate. I use one from an old modem/router that is 12v 1.6a but they are everywhere & super common. I ordered one of these from the same seller as a backup.

I used to swab then out with Iso on a Q tip or soak in a test tube filled with Iso. I forgot about a soaking NonG for 2 days but there was no issue & I can't tell it from any other any more. A couple of months ago I got my hands on 800 alcohol swabs that had to be destroyed as they had just expired. Perfect for pushing through UD stems & NonG's & very convenient.

I clean glass with PBW but only after I use a solvent like Iso or acetone to remove any sticky residue. PBW sucks for cleaning dirty glass but will make your clean glass look spectacular. Never had a UD stem dirty enough to need more than a good Iso cleaning though.

I don't reclaim but the best way to clean a UD stem if you reclaim is to push a wad of hemp fiber through the stem a few times.

Yeah.... I am going to need more pictures of what you call teasers. Damn that's a pretty pup. Love the two tone and the yellow spot!

I'll post a couple more below but that one was the nicest of the bunch other than a custom or two that I don't have permission to share yet.

I'm a sucker for sapwood

Me too!

Alright here are a couple more...

Hey Underdogs - A quick public service announcement: if you or someone you know is into this kind of stuff (Underdogs and vapes in general) we'll be looking to add a tester/reviewer to our team in the next 1-3 months to replace someone who is 'retiring'. No rush, just putting it out here now so we can start looking for the right person.

No joke I was looking thru the dog archive the other night getting ideas from past ones for my eventual custom and made a note of how sweet the bump with the line was :D

Too funny! Glad you like it, it's a look that I like as well.

Damn, Underdog! Very evocative of the custom Coco you turned for me last fall. Beautiful!

Thanks! Hope that CocoDog of yours is still treating you well?

Love my Dogs! They all perform well, have unique personalities and great aesthetics. The CocoDog and the full size Amboyna Burl are my favorites!

Love my dog, this is one of the best companies out there right now. They genuinely care about their customers. I've been trying to figure out the best method to use concentrates. I tried hemp cotton and mutiple screens stacked on top of each other. I mostly use very runny c02 oils and haven't had great success with either previously mentioned method. I've had an idea for a while now about an underdog concentrate screen. I was thinking a regular basket screen with small titanium cup in the center. Maybe some holes cut in the titanium around the edge of the cup. That way air could flow over the concentrates while they sit at the bottom of the cup. Let me know it anyone has a idea where I could get a tiny titanium cup like this then it's just a matter of cutting a hole in a basket screen and placing it.

@woahbackup any luck?

Just opened mine and messing with it now...

I found a little tuft of hair on my Banksia dog lolol

Lol.. ah old Tufty. When you turn a Banksia pod there's a whole layer where it's basically just orange fuzz, sometimes if I get to the point where there's a little patch left I'll just let it stay if I think it adds character.
