Easiest conversion to vaping?

I have a friend who I have been trying to switch to vaping. Over the past few years I've given her my mflb and flowermate neither of which I use. Those didn't encourage her. It may be because she has no trouble getting large amounts for free while I use micro amounts. Still her last boyfriend, who was an indoor grower, had several vapes including the vaporbrothers and that didn't stop combustion.
Maybe nothing is going to work but especially when we hit a certain age I think combustion is far more damaging.
Any recommendations? I'm thinking of giving her one of my vapcaps but she might feel more comfortable with one of the vapes that give really strong hits like the Mighty. I don't own any of those though since I cough easily.

If they have tried vapes in the past then it might be worth trying to ascertain what they didn't like about them.

Also worth asking what keeps drawing them back to smoking.

Do they smoke pure bud or do they mix with tobacco?

Are they after a smoother hit or do they like the dirty throat tearing hit a spliff/blunt/bong offers.

As an ex smoker I found it hard to get into vaporizing, the GrassHopper really helped me make the switch because of the heavy and hot hits it gave. Now that I've been off the wicked backy for a bit I find myself drifting more towards the VapCap. I still love my Hopper but it really knocks me for six.

I've also read on this forum that it's much harder to switch from smoking to vaping if you don't actually stop smoking. The effects are different and whilst you are smoking it's harder to appreciate the cleaner high you get from just pure vaping.

In regards to the efficiency a vape offers over smoking, it's something I've noticed my friends that used to combust didn't really appreciate until several months into their new vape lives.

You really need a device that can hit that spot well enough to get them to forget about the smoke long enough for them to notice the:
  • improved efficiency
  • greater lung performance
  • lack of shitty smell
  • superior flavor
  • stealth benefits
I think the VapCap is a great choice if they are spliff smokers. The EVO if they prefer bong hits or the GrassHopper if they prefer bong like performance on the go.

Lastly it's much harder to get someone to quit if they live with people that still combust, so convert em all I say :brow:

Just my :2c:

Having tried and failed at converting a couple people and succeeding in just one instance, if they like bongs, find something that will simulate that same rush feeling. If they like blunts, find something that simulates that. I have stopped trying to figure out what someone likes, and now try to find something that matches what they already enjoy.

My mother, loves to take just a single hit, maybe two and that's it. I have shared my pax 2, haze v3, and mflb with her. The only one that she liked was the pax 2. I then explained the cleaning process and how it worked. She immediately became disinterested. I'm going to get her a grasshopper now. She can handle the hot vapor, just need to make sure she uses the silicone covery to not burn her lips. She just wanted something small and pretty, for a couple hits. She likes batteries because they can be recharged and she wanted easy to clean. Grasshopper fits that for her.

I have a friend who currently lives in Singapore. He is a joint smoker. He used to own a volcano and a mflb. Sold both and never got anything new. Hasn't seen a vaporizer in a couple years. Showed him some videos of the boundless cfx and he said that's the one. Something he can put a lot of material in and use for a long time.

Some people are set in their ways. I have a fraternity brother who will use anything but a vaporizer. Knife hits, apple pipes, you name it. I cant get him to use a vaporizer to save my life. He just likes the taste of smoke. I showed him every unit I could think of. Best reaction I got was, "huh neat". I have since stopped trying and let him enjoy consuming how he likes. Maybe one day he will try something different, but for now we are both happy and that's what counts.

I guess in my long winded post, figure out what they like, and try to mimic it. If they don't seem to take an interest in it that's fine. Just caring about someone else's health is good enough at some point. Offer to share and maybe one day it will click. Being that she has access to large amounts, maybe something that has a large oven will suffice?

Thanks. I would never think of the boundless as being in any way similar to a joint. Maybe that's why I'm not thrilled with it. I just sent one to Vitolo but I have another and will see if she wants to check it out. She uses joints and a pipe- no water or bongs.

She is the only friend I have who uses herbs. Others my age used it in their twenties and identify it with that era of life. There is this whole marijuana world I know nothing about. My friends kids live in a different state and are trimmers, her boyfriends in this state are growers. I think it's hard to understand how expensive it is if you buy at a dispensary as I do.

The reason I felt like a joint and the cfx would be comparable are they both; for him, hold over half a gram, can be used for at least 5-10 minutes, and on higher temperatures can produce some solid clouds. He liked the long battery life and liked the temperature control as well.

I can relate as I live in a legal state and purchase through dispensaries. Cost is definitely higher than it was before I moved. But, I also feel more comfortable making a purchase as I have more information on what it is and how it was grown.

I'm done trying to convert people, although it's hard to accept, it seems like some people just don't care and you can only let it bother you for so long. If the great taste and long list of benefits can't convince them, what's left to say? For me, vaporizing was an "a-ha" moment, from which I instantly knew was the right way.

I guess I can't relate to some stories regarding a difficult transition, as I found combustion immediately very unappealing in comparison.

This is just my personal opinion, but I know people exactly like you describe who use dry pipes and chillums even after trying all of my vaporizers. If the taste benefits alone don't sway someone I'm not sure what would. Lately I like showing people the vaporization temperature chart and how you can cater the effect to the ailment. Some people find that interesting.

to get anywhere near the stoned out to the bone feeling like you get from smoking from a vape will require water assisted vaping and a hot vaporizer past 400 degrees... my personal preference is to native hit the vape the first few hits for flavor enjoyment and then place the vape on the bubbler to finish the session off at the highest heat possible/ comfortable etc... I feel that I get as many of the active compounds out of the herb that way... when you see light green abv that still is sticky then that is medicine that you did not inhale like you would have with smoking the same herb...
there is no way to replicate the lack of oxygen effect that is the result of smoking with a vaporizer... that smoke buzz is it's own buzz just from the way smoke effects you and no vape can replicate that and smokers seem to like the overly dulled out effects and complain when it's not achieved via vaping and do not have the patience or know how to achieve similar effects so they give up...

Many smokers seem to confuse the two as being the same, but IMO

stoned = combustion
high = vaporization

I think it's pretty funny when people even go as far as to say vapor doesn't do anything for them, when the THC degradation alone from smoking dramatically weakens the psychoactive effects.

And no offense, but people who use vaporizers tend to be more intelligent in my experience. It kind of takes somewhat of an airhead to prefer dirty pipes after you ring off the numerous positive attributes of vaporization.

Just look at a dirty bong from smoking vs vaping. Is it not obvious which one is better for you?

I don't know if it's so much a matter of intelligence than a matter of acceptance.

I know many very smart individuals that just can't accept obvious concepts when put infront of them.

For example, I know many intelligent individuals that believe a magical sky wizard is going to save them from their wretched souls. these same intelligent individuals with doctorates and degrees reject empirical evidence because it doesn't fit into their religious writings.

PS: I'm not saying there is no universal omnipotent presence, I'm not that arrogant, but dinosaur bones were not planted into the ground to fool us.

I've been trying to convert my brother. He says he gets bigger clouds with smoking his little pipe. I gave him an extra Solo to use that I had. I think a VapCap would be something I might buy for him for his next birthday. That seems similar to smoking. I quit cannabis using the Pinnacle Pro, it runs really hot. Use a high temp with water filtration. The Pinnacle Pro had a lot of problems so not endorsing that particular vaporizer.

He can't afford the high cost of cannabis. I told him he would save a lot financially if he would just vaporize. Some people are set in their ways. I know the frustration. I guess live and let live.

He's a medical patient. I am hoping he might decide to grow. That would be a win for the both of us.;):leaf:

my bubblers smells like a lipid took a shit in there and I've only ever vape bubbled with it= no smoke ever in there... I've sen the abv water too quite green tinted so it's absorbing some things and honestly- they stink bad in the water so I'm glad it filters in a way..
I think of people who vaporize instead of smoke as ( conscious breathers) . I personally even before ever vaporizing have been a conscious breather the moment I put down the cigarettes 20 years ago- Thank God!

You might want to do more research on "dinosaur bones" :D

They were only discovered after Darwinism was coined... No ancient civilization has ever found one! And no museum has any on display, they are all "off-limits" replaced with foam castings ;)

I don't know what you're vaping, my water never has smelled like someone took a shit in it whatsoever. I can't imagine how many months of vaping without changing the water it would take to get anywhere close to that? My experience is the exact opposite of yours. If there was a big enough bet I wouldn't be afraid to drink mine, it smells like a mild scent of ABV.

I change it each time and clean the bubbler when it starts to get sticky on the glass... plus, my abv is dark brown and cooked... for pain relief if the herb goes in there I cook it... no light green abv here so that accounts for what goes through the water in my situation...

You can't fall off the edge, it's surrounded by an ice wall. This is the most popular misconception with the concept. But hey, I'm sure they created the Antarctic Treaty for no reason and no one is allowed to explore it for our own greater good  if you can explain how a gyroscope works on a ball I'm all ears.

I would love to keep this going but I feel bad about derailing @little maggie's thread.

I will say though that Gyros quite obviously work inverse to the verse and therefore if the world were to be 3D Gyros would actually appear to be 4D and would allow you to navigate time itself, although everyone knows time is just made up and really it's just our souls being carried by a giant river of love :haw:
