Herb gardener...
I'm still annoyed this morning about this article...

I thought the days of the old campaigns to demonize cannabis, were over...

But just look at this quote in the article published by the bbc...
It's ridiculously laughable...

"His brave mother thought: 'I'm going to try this stuff [skunk] and see what it's like'. And she says it was an absolute nightmare.

"She said it was like confronting the devil himself when she looked in the mirror.

People like my grandparents, or other narrow minded family members, will now be worried I'm gonna die from deadly, killer skunk...

Fucking lies.....

i read the story above . pretty sad this guy lost two sons , to tragic events . he is just trying to find a reason as to why . and skunk is the most obvious target for him it seems . for the one son anyways .

but its the media that is fueling the fire also . this makes me think of how trump keeps going on about fake news lol . clearly to me this is fake news . not the poor guys story , but the blame that is being put on cannabis .
anything that stirs up the people is what this particular type of journalism is about , it sells i guess . im not in the UK but find it interesting . the UK seems to be the most prolific with spreading the worries of the devils Lettuce now a days .

in huge contrast to the story above , i watched this,
https://www.learngreenflower.com/co...w-cannabis-will-transform-our-culture-society last night .

here they talk about using cannabis to open up ones mind and all kinds of great stuff . but also of interest is they talked about how cannabis can cause some anxieties and uncomfortable experiences .

perhaps if the dose is to high , and of most importance . the set and setting .in which the experience takes place . this is soo important .

cannabis is here to stay , as it has been forever and will continue to be . education is key .

lets not forget for the last century , that education has been that weed is bad , and evil . if that is the set and setting under which you are using cannabis . then of coarse what do you expect to get , when you use it ?
. chances are high that your experience can be negative . and if your father and mother the media or government or whoever is providing you with your education on drugs in general , and cannabis in particular . is set in there ways because of there education regarding the matter and is biased toward drugs are bad . ....well i hope you see were im going with this .

its gonna take decades to break the wrong education regarding cannabis our society has beat into our heads . cannabis is bad it makes you bad and its dangerous . we need better education and more scientific open mindedness about cannabis and it uses .

if people keep saying its bad and a danger then they make it so them selfs . they make it what they want it to be

Did you guys see this a couple of years ago, when Jon Snow (newsreader) vaporizes some cannabis for TV (the TRUTH about mj), undergoes tests, and concludes that skunk should definitely be illegal because it "robbed him of his soul"!!!

hilarious stupid propaganda

@chris 71 definitely context and setting is a big part of using any substance, and the state of the person using it, not just the substance itself.
don't get high and go in a mri scan machine for example

PS Smoking spice is like smoking potpourri or something, pure gross chemicals. It's not like getting stoned, you just feel fucked up. I found it anything but addictive, though i reckon the recipe's changed since i had some. Apparently it's a favourite in prisons.

If you google "cannabis uk" (without the quotes) the first two results are:

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/2236004/cannabis-legalised-uk

and

http://blogs.spectator.co.uk/2017/02/britain-needs-legal-cannabis-market/

Now, I never thought I'd recommend you read a Spectator article let
alone ANYTHING in the Sun but you might just want to check them out.

In style and content the two pieces are quite dissimilar but their messages are
identical - legalise cannabis asap.

What's interesting here is that the Sun and the Spectator are at opposite ends of
the right-wing imedia intelligence spectrum. The Sun requires sub-teen literacy levels whilst the Spectator is aimed at a graduate audience.

The right-wing press in Britain (which is most of it) does not publish articles that don't
support and further the aims of the right. The Sun article was published on 11th Jan this year
and the Spectator item less than a month later on the 7th Feb.

I think tory voters are being softened-up for a major change in the law. Lefties don't need
any persuasion but if you've spent the last 20-50 years reading the Murdoch press - you
probably do.

And whilst it would be ironic if it was the tories who legalised it - tho to their commercial,
market orientated world-view it should make perfect sense - they'll get to legalse
it in the way that best suits their domination of the MJ market in the UK.

So in the meantime, if you get bust, just tell the beak that you read the Sun and the
Spectator and that those venerable organs always tell the truth :D
Case dismissed.

I'm strictly a ganja guy (well, and beer) but I know people who've been screwed up by this.
It was legal, then they made it illegal. Made no difference to the availability - it's
everywhere - British prisons are awash with the stuff. And it kills people.

Listen Teresa - legalise cannabis and it will make spice go away and stop killing people.
Government drug policy is killing people.

Here endeth tonight's rant - I'm neglecting my water-conditioned vape :)

More evidence of right-wing efforts to soften up their demographic to the idea of legalisation?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2017/02/11/uk-set-cannabis-boom-gw-pharma-storms-ahead/

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/lat...abis-UK-now-science-expert-marijuana-benefits

And here's one from the Metro. No idea which way they swing but it's a highly positive report.

http://metro.co.uk/2017/03/26/boys-...e-cancer-after-mum-gave-him-cannabis-6534160/

Straws in the wind perhaps?

When The daily mail gets on board, then I'll believe we are in for some change..

The daily mail does not report on what is good in this world - it is a vehicle for hate and division.
Owen Jones has it bang to rights here

It's taxable revenue that'll swing it - that and demands from medical users.

When the topic was raised on a UK cannabis website the response was a collective shrug of the shoulders - the law being regarded as an irrelevance. But there are still ordinary people up and down this country getting the 'six-o'clock knock' and if you've been there you'll know it's no fun. For that reason alone I hope it gets legalised soon.

Yes they think everyone will be a zombie? You will be more happy work less and read less of the daily mail, And so Cannabis will only be made illegal when the scum think it will either be profitable or at least pay for its self but with no more days of work than normal to hurt thier economy or investments.

Demands are nothing to do with it because it never works so far its just a bunch of talk and no action it is still class B in the UK! You can lose kids,House over Cannabis in the UK still and they are approaching Brexit like we are a shining example for the world.

A favourite Bill Hicks bit:

"I think it's interesting the two drugs that are legal, alcohol and cigarettes, two drugs that do absolutely nothing for you at all, are legal, and the drugs that might open your mind up to realize how badly you're being fucked every day of your life? Those drugs are against the law. He-heh, coincidence? See, I'm glad mushrooms are against the law, 'cause I took 'em one time, and you know what happened to me? I laid in a field of green grass for four hours going, "My God! I love everything." Yeah, Now, if that isn't a hazard to our country... how are we gonna justify arms dealing if we know we're all one?!"

being stoned is the only way I can cope with politics shite!

Thanks @Milkinson you inspired me to check out Bill Hicks quotes.

Here's one that resonates with me:

"The war against drugs ... actually is a war against civil rights".

I completely fail to see that what I put in my vape has anything whatsoever to do with the government.
If Bill's right - and of course he is - the use of cannabis is a justifiable act of civil disobedience.
No victim = no crime.

I think our current government is unlikely to ever decriminalize, let alone legalise....
They said they wouldn't when the debate happened....

So we can count out and hope with the conservatives...
But i cant see Labour getting anywhere with the current leader....
I like the fact Corbyn seems truly honest, but i think he is too left to win anything...

So we are gonna be stuck in our presemt situation for some time...

The uk tv police show are showimg everyone getting swabbed these days...
That worries me...

rodders83

well no one would be allowed to swab me with my ocd and i am always ready to tell them if they remove my clothes for a search they are not going back on so i will sit there naked for eternity until they let me go lol they have not got the resources to fight cannabis.

Taking cannabis aint illegal so why swab anyone but a driver?

For me his politics are fine - the problem is that he's just not cutting the mustard.
I voted for him (I'm one of the "£3 scallys") but if he really is the catalyst for change we'd have
seen something by now. After ten years of tory austerity labour should be miles ahead in the polls,
instead it's still falling.

As you probably remember the last labour government lowered cannabis to class c only to
cave in to the right-wing press and put it back up again.

A lot of tories call themselves 'libertarian' meaning that they believe the state should have
minimal powers of intervention in the lives of it's citizens. When legalisation does happen
here - as eventually it must - it'll probably be the tories who do it. Then they can fix it so
it's their chums who make the big bucks. Basically, you swap one dealer for another

@brainiac the man is just a wet weak fish and the Torys play dirty games like first past the post and have the Queen and her buddys making sure the Torys hold power. But you are right the libertarian left and right AND the individualist left and rights both can ally here so it begs the question as to why is it not happening more.

Both left and right can be against the goverment, The problem is the ones on the right tend to only want it because they have a lot of money and hate paying taxes where as the left want it for better humane reasons. So i would think the place we are now is we want this legal but those butthole Tories mentioned above are still dragging thier heels waiting for evidence it will not lose the country in GDP output. Once they know this they will pounce on it like typical capitalists and then we will have corporate weed to fight.

I do sense all we will get it corporate owned and controlled weed for a very long time because they can, And that is enough of a reason for these people!

kellya86

Herb gardener...
I don't give a shit about corperate weed, I just want to know that I'm not gonna have my door kicked in, and be taken away from my children, all for 2 harmless plants....

I live on a nice street in a nice market town, bit about a year ago, A last on my street went full crack/smack and dealing...
She has been raided and knicked more times than I can remember... And been in the papers over it...
Yet fuck all happens, she gets a slap on the wrist and given more useless 'help'...
The council tell me they have a duty to help her, not just evict her..
How long do they have to try and help, before they realise she is beyond help...

So yeah, she is openly dealing class a drugs, and I'm worried about getting in trouble...
Not right...

Anyone heard of this guy Action Bronson? Not me. I don't have a telly and I'm not into rap.
Anyway, he's got nearly two pages in the arts section of yesterday's i newspaper. It's here if
you really want all the bragging and self-promotion.

https://inews.co.uk/essentials/action-bronson-life-never-ending-quest-get-high/

But in brief, as well as rapping:
"Smoking weed, cooking (he was a chef before his music career took off) and eating are his other pastimes."

He “couldn’t care less” if weed was legalised, adding: “I’m going to buy it no matter what. I actually like it better illegal. Because it’s more of a rush going to buy it from a spot. The risk of being arrested.”

Ah, yes, the 'rush'

Just another example of the cultural acceptability of cannabis albeit from a left-leaning paper.
