Apple Patents a Vaporizer?

They better be for the absurd prices they charge for their products.

The prices would only be absurd if one wasn't getting value for the price paid. For many, the trouble free and virus free environment in regards to their computers makes the price of admission seem very reasonable.

In other words, I agree with @anasrzi. ;)

Willing to check out any new vape from them BUT:
my expectation would be that they'd also tie further AppleVAPE use to their accessory products which would be required to use it, at a price/fee of course.

Something a like a mandatory Apple loading capsule that's only good for 5 sessions and then beomes unusable or an operating app that you buy and then need a monthly fee paid , to keep using it.

Linux is virus free and cheap, and it is a lot more user friendly than it was 5 years ago.

But that aside, I'm not so sure this is for botanical or ejuice vaporization, it could be a patent on a part they use in one of their other devices. In our minds vaporize instantly has to do with inhaling vapor, but it is a very broad term that has many applications.

Fairly old and inaccurate. Sure there are things out there to get you; unlike Windows these things don't get silently installed just by opening a web page. I remember running Windows XP and going to msn.com's home page and getting 3 or 4 installers

Microsoft has been trying to change that; recently the stance has been only trust Microsoft ... huh what happened to norton and such? that or don't enable it.

Safe computing is more of a mindset; if a popup opens that you don't expect. You don't run the installer it downloads; this is how most Mac malware is delivered. Safari used to auto-open disk images until those became a problem

It's a game of cat and mouse and Apple's trying but they're not as honest about the software that does run to remove malware when detected.

Linux is virus free and cheap,

Not sure what Linux you are talking about but I just retired from a telecom network element software company and we built out stuff on Linux. Had lots of security issues. I know as I was the Program Manager for a number of our large accounts and needed to send the Critical Security Warning emails to our customers....which along with their reaction was a real joy (NOT).

I think we are overlooking the fact that many, many, many patents are filed just to establish future claim to the art and do not represent a real product development pipeline.

Just saying...I'll wait until I see them release a vape.

Just going by experience. I've used Ubuntu, SUSE, Red hat?, and some others I can't remember. When I use windows I get a virus every other year or so. I have never gotten a virus on Linux. Can't attest to how your company uses Linux though.

Just a tad more off topic....we used Linux as the operating system of our telecom network elements running on commercial off the shelf servers.

I think the difference is...and I mean no disrespect....is not that Linux is bullet proof (though anything is better than Windows, I believe) but rather that these networks were a tempting and profitable target for hackers while our personal home computers....well, not so much.

Exactly, and many people who choose Apple for a home computer because they don't want viruses could also use Linux and be happy. I am using windows now because I play games, but if I didn't I would be happy with Linux.

Apple does make quality products though, I still have doubts about this being a vaporizer that we inhale from. I hope I'm wrong, because I'd love to see what they'd come up with.

Remember the concentrate thing that worked off an Apple iphone? Maybe Apple saw the potential i know I did why own two devices when a phone could work for some people? Micro dose heaven ahoy? Here is what would be funny though and typical of the Apple generation of which I hate.

Every time the device would sense you took a hit it will automatically take a picture from the forward facing camera, Upload this to Facebook and automatically tweet that it was a killer hit.

Yea Apple lol...

"This is a business decision, and we will not go into details about the reason for this decision."

Knowing Apple, this sounds like further proof that they are probably coming out with their own vape and app and trying to preemptively block out all competition on their platform.

Strain recommendations based on most-listened-to music would be an absolute mess but also would be cool as hell if it worked..

lazylathe

Almost there...
I am sure someone is smart enough to base the algorithm off the ones already used in clubs?
Lights flash in sync with bass etc..

The deeper the bass the heavier the vapor! Or any range you choose would be cool as well so you can switch up your music styles.
