Zephyr Ion - original before the "elbow" fix (merged)

I have a brand new Ion that has only been used like 10 times and i have the air flow elbow problem I've seen on here fromm other users. The other users used their warranty and got a new one that had the problem fixed but with them being out of business i think i need to do this myself. Anyone else done this repair themselves that can give me ANY direction? What im looking for, what to do etc. Gunna start tonight and see what i can find inside.

The Oracle would be my choice for high end bag fill, assuming continued unavailability of the Ion. Like the Ion and other dual mode units, the Oracle at least provides a direct draw option, even though it's not passive.

Hopefully, Zephyr will survive this government BS and get back to producing and selling Ions. :/

I agree. The Oracle and Extreme Q are vialbe alternatives to the Zephyr Ion. They both have the balloon/bag feature, but they also allow the user to use a whip attachment.

I really like the Zephyr Ion too...so I hope they "figure out" these "issues" and start making some more!

I've been using my Zephyr since November, my parts are getting dirty so I dug into my box to replace the filters etc. I've been using the Zephyr daily for 5 months, and I have saved a ton of money using it, but question with the bags.

My bags are melting, causing this brown stuff to go down into the air nozzle, and I'm worried I'm hurting my self if I'm smoking this burned plastic? I would change the bags but my Zephyr came with no replacement bags! I checked the manual today and saw that it was supposed to have 4, I only had two to start with. And now I want to buy a new bag but I don't want a 12 foot bag.

Should I stop using these bags if they are brown and shrinking around the edge? I've used the same two since November.

dude, just get some oven bags at the grocery store yo, the kind you bake a turkey in.
use the zip ties they gave you and you're good to go

I sold my ion, I was scared it would burn out on me again, with no warranty to cover it now...Sad for me, but good news for someone...I just found some extra parts and I'm going to post them in the for sale section for you all...It's the Supreme Vaporizer all the way for now..the water pipe attachment is priceless! They are coming out with a new one soon too! See you all in the other tabs from now on...Zephyr was nice, but too large for me overall..I like to travel.

So if I order this exact tubing it will work for me or am I going to have to make some adjustments? I'm definitely looking for the best/easiest way to make a whip for my zephyr.

It seems as if the heating mechanism in my Ion has ceased to work. It will fill a bag with air but there is no heat, thus no vapor.

I'm sure this has been dealt with around here before so can anyone tell me what, if anything, there is for me to do to save my beloved Ion?

I've had it for about 9 months and it has worked PERFECTLY the whole time until now. :(

hey i ran through all my zephyr bags wondering if i can use volcano bags for it? or if you guys have any suggestions for other bags. also is starting at 390 a little high because my bags get bad fast?

Volcano cut your own work perfect. 390 is too high.. I started at 365 and worked up to 390 maybe 400 if I was really trying to get it all out.
After I bought silicone tubing, I never went back to bags.

thanks and ya i go from 390 up to 420 for second bag but its nice to have that really thick first bag and i think it has stronger effects that way

The turkey bags do work, meaning they don't melt, but have a funny taste to them compared to proper bags.
I tried some food safe high temp baking bags, and after that, I feel there is a large possibly that somehow, they're not vape safe..

420!? I love the number, but your on a whole 'nother level! Lol
Do you still see effects with baking the abv/making butter after vaping at those temps?

i just down like 3.5 in a firecracker doesnt do a ton but i ususally think i feel it a lil bit

mix abv with organic peanut butter throw it on graham crack with choclate wrap in tinfoil throw in oven at 250 or something for 20 min. then sink it in your gut

interesting little thing i found out just now was wondering if you had any input Rott, or anyone.. right when i got my tube i assumed push the air flow button to take a hit, turn it off after the hit, exhale, repeat. now i see i dont even need the airflow button and can just manually airflow it (like a vapebrothers box) sotospeak. wondering what your method was?

Yeah, there website talks about the problems they have...... Woe is me the big bad guberment is on us we had no choice but to shut down.....

Give me a break, the repairs were probably killing them (look online, lots of peeps having issues with Zephyrs) and they are most likely in redesign now with no intention of fixing the ones that are out there :rolleyes:

Probably come back under another name and leave that web message there forever.

MHO only, no more, no less

I miss the push button vaping. I have to suck hard on the supreme/peculator combo sometimes, and I miss the effortlessness of just pushing the button and trying not to cough.

Green dragon is my new favorite. THC tincture. 3grms to 1oz of everclear, sits for 24-48 in dark place, strain through coffee filter in amber eye dropper bottle. 8-10 drops and wheeeeeeeee!

Must dry herbs very well before soaking!!!!
Sorry off topic on the zephyr, unless your making an abv tincture ...that would take a lot more though I'm sure.
