What's the deal between buying directly from your website rather than an authorized retailer??
Pros & cons??
I've seen some eBay deals as well, are they authorized sellers??
I'm not a DaVinci OG or Ascent customer...
Do I get all those famous extra credits for accessories and so??
I'll get an extra 10mm mouthpiece, extra flavor chamber and extra pearl...
Thanks in advance.
Stay vaped...

maybe your 18650 is fake? all of my extra 18650 works
Can u please tell me what ones u bought? My IQ is out for repairs right now and I'm hoping to get a few spares in case I get sent back the same unit then I'll definitely needing added power. I hear so much about batteries not fitting I'm waiting to see what exact batteries will fit. Is it more recommended to get the batteries from DaVinci since they fit for sure?

So i decided to buy PAX 3 instead of Davinci IQ because of the oven cracks, a lot more then few not working units, long RMA and many more. I will check this thread - if things get better i will buy the IQ or IQ version 2 when it comes out. Have a good day guys!

Scroll back to mid December for discussions on batteries when @Davinci_vaporizer participated for good info. You can get good savings over DaVinci prices but note that the DaVinci battery is about the best and most powerful of its class. I found them expensive, unavailable unless bought in quantity or through DaVinci, or there are long shipping delays. I bought 4 readily available NCR batteries for a good price but at a slight compromise in available power. The key is having a handful of batteries for a busy day and a good battery charger.
I like the XTAR VC2 battery charger with led display that charges 2 batteries and allows monitoring of the charge. Cheap chargers will not perform optimally.

Thanks @Glass004 , you are a good dependable big brother to have:D. I've gone thru every page on this thread numerous times and every few pages someone voices in one of those previously recommended batteries doesn't fit their unit. I imagine some of those people may have purchased counterfeit batteries, which is why I haven't bought any yet. How's the 3rd IQ holding up, third time's the charm hopefully:tup:. I'm quite inspired how you maintained your cool thru 2 failed units, hopefully I won't be put to such a challenge:freak:. Anyway just to update u whether or not u care:brow:, I sent my RMA in last week per all your instructions, it's been delivered to them Fri 1/27 so let's see how this will play out. Hopefully some of your GOOD luck will rub off and I'll get a unit without flaws back quickly.

I got mine from imrbatteries and even though they are within spec 62mm plus or minus .5 mm they are a bit too long. They are 62.14 while the davinci battery is 64.43 (out of spec).

Which batteries did you buy? Sanyo? The reason why I'm asking is because I bought a pair of LG MJ 1's & they fit perfect, I'm even using one in my Arizer Air.

Does anyone even know what chemical is inside a magic eraser? Works too well to be safe....

From what I have read in my own research the magic eraser is made of a melamine material that acts as an abrasive to scrub your ceramic bowl. There are no chemicals involved. The foam wears away, rather like a pencil eraser, leaving behind a slight residue which can be rinsed off.

Davinci Vaporizer has done no studies on the effects of this material to the heating element of our vaporizers. We also have no information on how this material reacts when heated or if the redisue it leaves behind is same to consume. This is why this material is not suggested by Davinci Vaporizer in our cleaning guide. Until we do research on the material and officially recognize magic eraser as a viable cleaning option please use this material at your own personal discretion.

I am in Cape Town, South Aftica andI receive my IQ tomorrow. Cannot wait .❤

You will love it!!! Please post pictures and let us all know about your experience.

My app keeps making a tritone sound when I turn on, or reach temp, or change smart paths. Where/how do you shut that off? Have iPhone 6, thanks

That tone is normal. Not currently able to be changed or muted. Coming with App updates.

How are people's oven so dirty? I've been using it for almost 3 weeks now without iso cleaning and its basically all white.

Ovens typically get the most build up when leaving the bowl loaded when the herb is cooling. The oils still lefts on the herb deposit and leave a residue that stains the ceramic walls. Also cleaning the IQ is best done while warm kind of like a greasy pan. I'm with you on being confused though. Here at our office our one of the guys has the dirtiest oven I've ever seen no clue how he dose it. Totally convinced he is packing in hash between all of his herb but her swears he doesn't. I smell a liar lol :suspicious:

So, the double taxing situation isn't even sorted yet and here is another problem...

Can't get an answer from DaVinci, so i though i would post here again.
Oven crack/line: normal or not?

It looks like it could be either a seam line in the oven or a crack!

DSC_71241_zpsfhzxj107.jpg

DaVinci answered: "That is actually a seam in the oven that all our ovens have. It doesn't become exposed until after use when the unit has sustained some staining."

I believe your taxing situation should have been handled yesterday. Also by looking at the pictures I can tell you that is definitely the seam of your oven and not a crack. I can tell because it it perfectly straight from top to bottom.

EDIT - Just saw that you got our response. lol

Well that's not good... Curious as to how they are going to deal with returns from the UK?

As soon as we get stock in EU at our distribution center we will also be setting up a repair/ warranty service local in the EU so that units wont need to be sent all the way back to us here in Las Vegas. Should be happening by summer time.

Ok I don't claim to be a ceramics expert, but somebody explain why there would need to be a seam? I would assume the oven is a molded piece? The only reason I could come up with is, maybe it's a seam left that way for heat expansion?

The oven is not a molded part. It is actually made in 2 parts. The cylinder oven is first a flat square that is rolled to find it's cylinder shape (this is were the seam comes from). The second piece is the oven bottom which caps off the oven and closes it. Hope that helps.

I would highly recommend NOT to use concentrates by themselves with this device.

I did a large amount of experimenting with concentrates using an Ascent oven which is very similar to the IQ oven.

What I found was this:

1. The concentrates will not fully vaporize at max temps in this type of oven
2. When I tried on my Ascent the concentrates melted, dripped through the oven, and started creating a huge amount of nasty caked on residue in an inaccessible area of the oven.

It started driving me crazy so I tore open the bottom grill of the Ascent oven and found that the bottom of the oven was absolutely covered in a ton of black concentrate residue that had been baked on to the oven.

I'd recommend dry herb only.

If you really want to try concentrates you can put a little bit mixed in with dry herb but I'd highly recommend being careful not to put so much concentrate that it melts and leaks instead of being fully absorbed by the herb.

Great advice here! If you feel compelled to use concentrates in the IQ you will want to mix or layer your wax in with your herb in the oven. Definitely don't put so much that it starts to pool up and leak out of your IQ.

The Davinci IQ was designed to be the best portable herb vaporizer. It was not intended to be used with concentrates. There are plenty of devices that are specifically designed for concentrates and do a great job at it. You don't use a fork to eat soup.

I got my 3rd IQ via a pretty quick RMA process of 7 days not including shipping. I like the extra gear I have now, thank you DaVinci for being rather generous.
After using the Ascent for backup, I am still blown away by the improved efficiency of the IQ also finding it gives even better taste than the Ascent.
The Ascent produces more resin to clean than the IQ. I also appreciate how the IQ flavor channel increases efficiency by recapturing resin previously lost when I cleaned off the Ascent with a rag. More buzz for the bucks when you use the treated contents of the flavor channel.

All three IQs I have owned have felt hot to me, but I do 430F sessions until I have midnight black ABV. The IQ's great taste goes on longer, I hate putting down if I am still getting good vapor. The leather wrap I made looks good and keeps the fingers cool. See pics a few pages back.

The second pearl I have is just the spacer/ heat sink (plus maybe a Pyrex flower as a spacer) to enable micro loads for quick low quantity hits. I place the flower's stem in the extra pearl's hole.

I love the free Honeybird bubbler DaVinci gave me via store credits. It makes the 430F sessions so pleasurably complete.

Glad to hear that we still have your support after your troubles. We do try to do everything we can to make sure that any experience you have with Davinci Vaporizer is a great one. Even if it is for something as sad as having to warranty your vaporizer.

Hey there! Welcome to the team!

So as far as buying from us direct vs an authorized dealer. With both you will be eligible for your 10 year warranty for your IQ so no worries there. At our official store we sometimes run special promotions and bundle extra give away items to your order. Some of our authorized dealers do this also but with different items not official Davinci accessories. A couple of bonuses that you have when ordering direct from Davinci would be a streamline warranty registration process. Since you purchase from us direct you wont ever have to worry about loosing your receipt and not being able to claim your warranty we can just look you up. Also with our rewards program every dollar you spend in our online store adds up to give you bonuses and discounts on future purchases.

I do want to note that ebay, amazon, craigslist, entexchange and other 3rd party retailers are not considered authorized dealers of Davinci goods. Please visit the link below to our authorized dealers page for a list of trusted vendors. Or any brick and mortar store on our store locator.

I am a loyal customer indeed. I have been influenced by your responses on the forum to customers who are upset. I am really good at putting your product through strenuous use and causing breakdowns. And yet you are patient with me and always honor your warranty, so back at you.
I resisted reporting you for the rabble rouser you are. Didn't you read that material safety discussions are not appropriate here? I am glad you see the issue from a rational and intelligent viewpoint and recognize the same problems with Melamine foam that I was advocating in the name of consumer safety. Another reason I am so impressed with DaVinci, you obviously have a high IQ .:science:

Got mine around black friday on sale at https://liionwholesale.com, got the source to buy from http://firewoodvapes.com/pages/faq the first part of the FAQ where he suggests the website. I picked this place over the other ones because it was cheaper on black friday compared to the other sites listed.

Many vapes & accessories. Always happy to help
The plate that holds the pearl is just polished stainless steel. Looks like the polish in that area has scuffed and lost it's shine.

Eh...I would double check with the engineers, it definitely looks like a coating, I can take close up pictures of needed?

Males me start to think I may need to have it serviced?

@Davinci_vaporizer Still interested in this... Would appreciate, if you could comment on that to be sure what that is - and why it can be wore down that quickly...
Can we avoid that somehow?
Thank you! :)

First time being low on bud until the weekend, I only had enough left to fill up half of the oven, usually I fill up the oven all the way up till I can't see the white part anymore. It seems like that if you don't fill up the oven you produce less vapor? Is it because it's not touching the ball or something?

You are on the right thought path. The pearl at the top of the oven transfers heat to your herb quickly, unless there is no contact with the load. Various spacers (Pyrex glass flowers or zirconium pearls) fill the dead space with a heat conductor that allows maximum contact. High temps make more intense vapor as well. The IQ does pretty well with small loads making it an efficient quick hitter, but you need a heat sink.
I most often just load enough to allow the second pearl to fit. I do not advise stressing the hinge with so large a load packed in the oven that it can't snap closed.
I am sorry for your shortage in herb. I hope it is short term.

Good thinking! I never thought of that, but it makes a lot of sense! My hinge side of the oven was slightly raised up higher than the other side out of the box, instead of a nice flush finish all the was across. We'll definitely not be stressing it at all any more, I'm going to pass these words of wisdom on to my girlfriend! ( new owner of my IQ)

You might be seeing less vapor because your herbs are not making solid contact with the walls of the bowl. When packing a less than full bowl you will want to make sure to pack down the herb you have so that it sits tight in the bowl and is making good contact with the heating walls.

I'm going to pass these words of wisdom on to my girlfriend! ( new owner of my IQ)

Is that transfer of ownership by choice? Or have you fallen victim to the "whats yours is mine and whats mine is still mine you can just ask to use it"? :bang:

I have had the IQ now for a few weeks. Holy cow!! This thing is amazing and a beast!

I looked back some pages but I didn't see anything concerning the battery light.

I plugged the IQ in to charge but used it while charging. Now, the battery light stays on after the unit is turned off. Anyone have suggestions?

Definitely try and do a factory reset when you get a chance. If that doesn't help let me know.

I purchase my Davinci IQ directly from Davinci's web store, along with a car charger and an extra battery. They threw in a free case, woohoo!!!! I paid for priority shipping, however it took over a week to arrive.

I use it for less than a week and it no longer charges through the device itself (as it should be capable of doing). Also I would put a fully charged battery (charged from a wall charger), and it would drain completely within 10 minutes. It would also get so hot before the battery died that I literally couldn't hold it in my hand.

I email Davinci, and get an automated response with a ticket number, and it says I should get a response within 48-72 business hours. 5 business days go by and nothing. I called and left a voicemail with their support line. No call back. I tried repeatedly to get ahold of CS, but no dice.
I messaged Davinci _vaporizer directly on here. I get a response. He asked for the ticket number, which i provided (from the automated email i received from Davinci). He said they had no record of it. I sent him the receipt, serial, and all that jazz, and requested a refund since I initially contacted Davinci support within the 14 return period and it was defective.

After a few days, he gave me an address to send the unit and all accessories back to (I had to pay $15 to ship this defective product back to them). I put this unit and all accessories back in the packaging EXACTLY as it arrived. I was extremely thorough and ensured I included EVERYTHING that came with the unit.

I get a notification that my refund arrived in my Paypal account a few days after shipping, but noticed the refund was $10-11 less than the purchase price. I emailed the guy back, and he said the reason I didn't get a full refund was because I didn't include the original battery, nor the extra battery I purchase in the return package. This is utterly false. I informed him about how meticulous I was in including absolutely everything in the package, including two batteries. He disputed this. I told him the person who unboxed the return package either took the batteries or misplaced them, because they were in there when I sealed the damn thing up.We go back and forth and I got so frustrated that I told him that this was the worst customer service experience I've ever had. Didn't get an email back.

I'm just so utterly disappointed with this whole experience, and would strongly advise anyone against purchasing this product. It's a gamble from many different angles.

Davinci, I wanted to love you. The IQ is one fucking slick vape, and the design is fucking gorgeous. When it worked for the short period that it did, I was infatuated with the thing. Now I have no IQ and I'm out $25. I feel Davinci owes me and everyone else compensation for this fiasco.

Cliff notes:
Got a defective IQ, had to pay $15 to ship it back, and did not get a full refund.
