Bruce, how do you explain that people are able to sell them @240 if you as a manufacturer can't make profits at this price ?
do you think eventually that some sellers are buying them direclty at the factory (in China if I remember correctly) ? or they are buying copies ?? or something else
Just being curious here...

Raf, the only way I can explain how people are able to sell them for $240 is if they are buying them on the distributor level and having almost 0 markup. This is possible with places that have no overhead i.e. someone running their eBay business out of their garage.

Since each ION has a serial number we can track them back to who we sold them to. ( if we get hold of an ion serial number) I have not seen any without serial numbers so I don't think they are knockoffs or sold "out the back" I just think there are a couple shifty guys on eBay and amazon (oh and I don't care for eCrater at all). There are over 80 listings for the Zephyr Ion and just a few that are shady.

Let me point out that we do have some authorized resellers on both amazon and eBay and they are great.

Only question, does the motor or fan that comes on when the air button is pushed usually have a 'rhythm' to it...like every second and a half to 2 seconds it makes a deeper noise? Kinda sounds like a riding lawnmower idling i guess? Also-after reading a few pages on here, how do I know if mine is a newer version or if the store i got it from got it off ebay and are selling for more money? It came in a plain brown box with a foam top on the top with extra parts imbedded in the foam.The book and everything that is supposed to come with it was in it, but it wasnt it the same green box packaging as the local stores..Im just worried the store across the state(a state thats non legal and type of real vaping material if ya get my drift)had bought an older model and if I have the same warranty options as people that get it from the zephyr website or any other authorized dealer..thanks for any help-and good luck Bruce-your name was brought up on another site as being helpful with anything,your reputation precedes you and it was true from most ive read

The pump doesn't usually have any type of "rhythm" to it but I have heard a couple other people mention this. If you think it affects functionality, by all means fill out a RAF form on the website and we will take care of you. If it is working like it should, I wouldn't sweat it much

Newer ION if your ION came in a brown box and the serial number starts with 09 or higher you have one of the newer IONs. Either way, the warranty starts and lasts for 2 years from the time of purchase, so you are covered.

Thanks Bruce, and no, it works great. Only had it a few days though, and probably turn it on about 6 times an hour. Hopefully using it more often than those that have quality smoking material wont hurt. Only other question i have is this-as long as theres 'vapors' or smoke or whatever the cloudy mist is going into the bag continues to go into the bag-than does that mean its still good to use that basket? basically-do i need to change baskets when i quit seeing any cloud?

I would call this good advice for most anything in life.

"If you can taste it, it is there,... if it tastes bad, STOP" - Bruce

When I vape at lower temps sometimes I don't see much visible vapor, but I can taste it.

Been using the Zephyr a lot since school started, I would estimate about 1-3 Grams a day and easily 2-3 ounces smoked through it in the past month. It works excellent every time and not one person who uses it has anything bad to say about it.

Here are the temperatures I use with about 0.5 Grams for best results and will easily bake 4-6 people every-time: 320, 356, 374,428 :ko:

And if only myself or one other person is going to vape (2 total) I pack around .2 Grams and same temps.

Here is a quick explanation to why I choose these temperatures:

Guide (Key)
AI=anti inflammatory
E=Euphoriant
AN=analgesic
AE=antiemetic (anti nausea)
AX=anxiolytic
AS=antipsychotic
BD=bronchodilator
AD=antidepressant
SE=sedative

Temperature oC Temperature oF General Effect
140 284 2AI
150 302
160 320 E,2AN,3AI,AE,AX,AS,BD
170 338 AX,2AN,AS,2AI
180 356 AE,AD,2AI,AX
185 365 SE
190 374 2SE,AD,AX
200 392
210 410
220 428 AI,AN,E,SE
225 437 SE
230 446 SE

Bruce,

After reading the forums thoroughly I picked up a Zephyr Ion and have been very happy with it so far. Mine does not appear to have a serial number anywhere on it. There is a single white sticker on the bottom with the model on it. What should I do from here?

You should email me and give me your contact info bruce@zephyrvaporizers.com and let me know where you got your ION. If possible send a picture of the bottom and the top.
*also check to make certain the serial isn't on the box or inside on the bottom of the box.

Will do. It came in a brown box so there is no serial number attached there. I just started to warm it up a couple minutes ago so let it cool down and I will snap some pictures.

Edit: Email with pictures sent. Thank you for following up so quickly Bruce. Customer support like this is one of the reasons why I bought a Zephyr.

UUmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.................I may have a dumb question for Bruce or anyone else with Zephyrs..but how the HELL do you change bags????? I have one i need to replace, but when i grabbed my replacement bags-it was one 10ft bag almost. NO perforations....Its not a like a roll of trashbags, just one big continuous bag with 11 logos...So-did the 400 dollar vaporizer i have purchased screw me on my extra bags and not leave perforations?? Or,am i supposed to cut and melt the end on each bag i want to use???

Sorry if this seems rude-just a lot of money for something as simple as perforated bags to be messed up....

The replacement bags are a 12 foot roll. There are not any perforations because the idea is you are to cut it to any size you like. To seal the end, use one of the included zip ties.
We also have updated instructions on our website
http://zephyrvaporizers.com/store/page.html?id=8.

So out of an entire 12 ft roll, you get one bag? That cant be cost effective..I mean, do people really have 5ft long bags of vapor? Must take alot of baskets...Since theres only 1 sealed end on the entire roll, there at least should have been 2-6ft rolls so a person could get 2 bags...

And also-the book from the company itself says the product comes with 4 extra bags, not a 12ft long bag the buyer has to rig up with zip ties to make another bag. And can a ziptie even get it tight enough that no vapors will leak out??? This may seem like a tiny incident, but it just seems like a simple thing that shouldve been thought out more clearly..

There is only one heat sealed end, if you use the other end you are to seal it with a zip tie. I can get 6 2 foot bags out of the roll which beats the old method of only 4 replacement bags. If you are unsatisfied with the roll shoot me an email and I will get you some of the old bags.

I would rather have the bag type be an option.

I think its pretty bizarre to ship bags that are not ready to be used without further processing. I do not find twist ties on the end of the bag acceptable. I went and bought a heat sealer but I been meaning to get one for some time anyways but from a medical users perspective. This would be very undesirable and not expected.

It could be nice, but I wouldn't expect it. Personally, I'm just glad for the new Nylon bags over the old PU bags. Quiet is niiiice.

I pointed this out a few posts ago, but if you have one of those 'seal-a-meal' machines, you can use that to seal your bags shut on one end. I have one, and it works almost as well as the commercial 15" heat sealer I have access to at work. The commercial one is just a little nicer because I have access to the end/side of the sealing area and can adjust the temp.

If anyone is interested, mail me your bag roll and I can seal them up for you into whatever size you want. Include a few stamps so I can mail it back to you. I may post a youtube video too if any are curious how they come out, or how easy it is to change.

Sorry I've been so absent from the forum. I think I got wrapped up in planning a camping trip to the Adirondacks and then school is back in session. But this is hopefully my last year, and then I can graduate and be (Pinoccio voice) a real boy! .... with a real job!

LOL

Finally got my Zephyr Ion 2 weeks ago. My favorite vape I have used this far. It's been used everyday since purchase, everyone that comes over really enjoys using it. I like that is much easier to vape with more people now compared to my vapor brothers, which has been retired for just personal use.

It is now,..... a person can purchase from the website a 12 foot roll to do with as they please or a set of 4 pre-cut and sealed replacement bags. The Ion will still come with 2 bags set up with the mouthpieces and a 12 foot roll.

The eyes have one language everywhere
I ordered a 12 ft roll, thinking I would use it to make my own size bags. I also have a heat sealer and have experimented with the grocery store turkey bags making shapes and letters. Beyond the HIghdeas I get while vaping I have found that with the zip tie, one can easily add the additional mouthpiece and take it off and zip tie it back up again. I use the extra mouthpiece on my 4 ft bag for company when we suck it down faster than I could refill a little bag. Works like a wand with a reservoir. We just turn it on and keep passing it (to the left, always to the left, never on the right), luv me some Cypress Hill!
