@almost there its a skinny Vong - 14mm. It's not at all too big to use alone. I often hit by itself after I pull it to clear the waterpiece if the click hasn't happened yet.
thank you very much @alltoreup , usually I"m not a big fan of coccobolo but your omnivong has a beautiful color and pattern. I'm definitely one of the people you are referring to about wavering whether to get the omni or not. If I do I'll try something out of character and get the vong body, I'm certain there's a water piece in my future somewhere. Wish they have a XL omni, that would tip me over for sure, though I don't own any s-models I'm certain I'll feel it's too short. I don't have large hands but the length of the XL just feels right for me:brow:

If the "Omni" mouthpiece was reduced in size on the part you place in your mouth, (the end away from the body), to fit in the ti-tip to seat the screen. We could throw that pen cap away. I don't see how it would change the way the vc works. That way the "Omni" would be the goto tool for changing screens.
If you haven't tried the latest ti-tip, you need to get one. That and the "screenwich" are a vast improvement to the VapCap. Doc

@Squiby since you got a new OmniXL, have you got a new tip with that? Would love your feedback. I haven't read much feedback on the new round-grooved tips to validate similarity to my DIYtip.

While I'm at it, I've been even naughtier with the click lately. With my 20cm stem, lighting the cap while I inhale isn't so intimidating since it's not so close to my face. I mentioned that on occasion I dare boost the tip temp before the cooldown click - my new trick is to boost the tip temp while I'm inhaling. I heat the tip till click, inhale, Exhale, and inhale again. If I don't taste/feel much vapor, I'll boost the temp a bit. Flavor is my feedback, and my DIYtip is pretty forgiving due to less cap contact, so it's been working pretty well for me. instead of having 3~4 heat/up down cycles with a puff or 2 in each cycle with some cool-down wait which can take 2~3 mins all in all, I can kill a tip-full in about a minute or so :D Still refining the process, and YMMV. click-out.

edit: It works great while mouthpulling. I have also only used my single jet torch, a triple would be too risky. Just short flame bursts between pulls/puffs to keep the flavor/density in the zone.

Let me know what u guys think

+P.S Inspired by the discussion a few pages back about other butane vapes that don't have clicking caps.

YAY PAGE 420! :)

edit: + Damascus is great but it's even better when being used! Beesewax has been worked into it for protection and it looks great as is. However, I love that when in use, the damascus warms up just enough so that the beesewax gets a little translucent and the textures just pop! I really like having this piece, but an FYI in my opinion it's more of a novelty piece than a practical one. It needs a bit more care and doesn't suit every occasion as well (ie, I wouldn't want to take it out when it's too cold out, humid, or rainy. it's slightly heavier, etc), but it's return on the care you put into it is great :)

@ataxian is no youth and has a very serious medical issue that effects his brain.

If he doesn't like wood, then he doesn't like wood.

Just sayin
Yes I'm sorry if I offended @ataxian it was just meant to be a joke about the youth of today and was not aimed directly at any one
Lesson learnt don't post on here when drunk
Sorry to anybody that was offended

I have WOOD EXOTIC BEAMS in storage.
WOOD I love and made beautiful SURFBOARDS & FURNITURE.

However I don't KISS it?

In the 70's we grew CANNABIS COLAS and it was free (pre-bong era)

So WOOD I studied all types.
Love it however not as a appliance?

The simplicity of the DYNA CAP I like.
Just can't handle some material's?

SORRY for being so opinionated!

Can I use water pipes with a OMNI?
@Stevenski love your video!

There are several options for you. They make titanium mouthpieces for regular vapcap, and there's also glass options.
Anywho, I think you would enjoy a vapcap a lot. It's the closest I've found to a joint in ritual.
Plus, it's so easy to plug into glass to get more extreme extraction. I've been able to clear bowls easily in two heat cycles with a water pipe.

I got my cocobolo OmniVap on Saturday, and have fallen in love with it. My first try was a bit wispy, but the second showed me that I'd made a great purchase. I did bevel the outer edges of the carb hole just to make it easier to feel. I even turned off my ENano for the first time in months. I bought this as just a portable, but it may just become my daily driver.

Next order will defiantly be a DynaStash, the magnet works great and to have it permanently attached is just gold. I'll be installing magnets near everywhere I vape.

It's the closest I've found to a joint in ritual.

I think this is a big part of the vapcap experience. I went camping with a friend this summer. He has a ritual with small scissors he uses to chop up his weed, then he mixes it with tobacco, rolls his joint and snips off any extra paper with the scissors. I offered to let him try my Omnivap, but he declined and I didn't want to be pushy.

At the last possible moment, when we were all packed up and about to go our separate ways, he asked about trying it. I should have let him try it empty a few times, or heated it up for him, but didn't think of that at the time. He ended up combusting the last bit of his weed, so he didn't get the true vapcap experience and I felt bad.

I decided to send him an OG to try out. I told him it wasn't a gift - if he didn't use it, I want it back. I was also going to send a torch to use with it. I was all ready to send it when the torch I'd been using died. I started using the one I was going to send him while I ordered more from ebay. I finally got the package to him this week, and here's his reply:

"Got your pkg-NOT getting it back-works great every time-THX-stoned now, must eat pie!"

Sounds like he's forgotten his joint ritual already. Another vapcap convert.

I did pick up one of those battery-guzzling electric portables on Boxing Day - the Arizer Air. I open the manual and step one says "Plug in your Arizer Air, then use your vapcap for the next 2-3 hours while you wait for the Arizer Air to fully charge." I do like the Air, but I'm really glad I went with the vapcap for my first portable. The Air holds roughly 0.1 - 0.15g, which is about the same as a vapcap, but it takes 8-10 minutes to vape that. A charged battery is good for 5-6 sessions. At that rate, I'd need to camp with an electrical hookup, or bring 2-3 batteries/day for however long I'm going. I do like filling a stem with keif for bedtime, though.

My first vapcap just got delivered but I'm at work and can't do anything about it for 4 more hours! D:

Question for the vets, is a burnoff necessary on this type of device? Should I heat it empty for a few cycles before using it?

Also, what do you prefer in your chamber: coarse grind, fine grind, or no grind/whole nugs, and why?

so i bought an older ti woody off someone, is there anyway to use a wooden mouthpiece with it? or will it not fit? it's an older one using the ceramic screens i

Yes, the modular design has not really changed. If you have a Ti Woody, it is 3.5 inches long and has a 62mm long stem. You can add a mouthpiece in one of two ways.

Swap out your regular condenser for an XL condenser with a mp. This will add another 17mm to the length of your woody and it will become 4.25 inches long. This model is called a Ti Woody XLS.

OR

Swap out your 62mm stem for a 45mm long body and a mp. Your Vapcap will remain 3.5 inches long. This model is called a Ti Woody S.

You can choose from straight or VonG midsections.

It is a good idea to practice bringing the cap to the click a few times before loading just to get the feel for it. A few people have mentioned an initial bad taste that is resolved with a cleaning. I never experienced this but if you notice an off flavor, it might need to be swabbed out with a bit of ISO, then rinsed and dried thoroughly before using.

Also, what do you prefer in your chamber: coarse grind, fine grind, or no grind/whole nugs, and why?

I prefer no grind. I simply tear off a tiny bug from a bud and pop it in there. No fuss, no muss. Easy peasy. Dumping the spent load is easier and I like things to be simple.

when I got mine in early dec., it definitely had machine oil on the tip - others reported the same, so some type of cleaning before use is probably a good idea.

VCs are pretty non-fussy about grind. I've read that finely crushed hash isn't recommended, and if you don't make a 'degummed hemp' filter (most don't - @Squiby recommends them for people with respiratory sensitivity), finer grinds will probably mean more condenser cleaning. from what I can tell - I'm still learning how to use it - it gets close to combustion in the tip (that's why it can handle hard hash). the learning curve is largely about stopping before combustion ('respecting the click'). I guess my point: the whole issue of grind is closer to what you'd expect with a pipe (combustion), not a vape.

Squiby what is the functional difference between the "regular" and the "xls" length Dyna's?

Very little.

The difference of 17mm in length does not really affect vapor smoothness, at least not for me. I have noticed a smoother cooler vapor with much longer custom stems such as @Phattpiggies. But the Vapcap creates pretty cool smooth vapor anyway.

I think the Ti Woodies and the Ti Woody S models are a bit stealthier for out and about and may be more comfortable for someone with a small hand. The added length of the Ti Woody XLS may be more comfortable and easier to twirl when heating for someone with large man hands.

I would be hard pressed to identify any real functional difference between them. Choose the one that turns you on the most.

Any thoughts about the Scorch Dual Flame Torch lighter ($12) on Amazon? I feel like two side by side torches would light a good even portion of the VapCap tip, without being overkill. It's just that every Amazon lighter has both good and terrible reviews.

**Edit**
Ordered... Will share results with you guys when it comes this week.

this broke on me this weekend. the door that opens when you press down the button doesn't open anymore... i guess there is a plastic tab on the button that feeds into a hole on the lid and that broke off... i can still use it with two hands 9one keeping the door open0 but it's really not feasible.
