Hey, that's neat. I may use that in the future...

But I meant I was searching the CANORML website for Zephyr Ion/Zephyr Vaporizer/Zephyr. No results.
To clarify, what I meant was if you search "Vaporizer" on google, the CANORML website comes up, and it would be nice if they endorsed Zephyr (they endorse the Volcano). So people just starting to research vaporizers who go to the CANORML website would be informed of the Ion. I'm not sure if Bruce meant that when you search google for "Zephyr Ion" it comes up, but thanks for proving that point - even if it isn't quite what I meant.

That is a pretty cool link!

I meant we were on Facebook, guess I need to work on CANORML this week.

I just got the ion, it takes awhile to fill up bags 2+ minutes. Does it usually take this long?

edit:

I sifted through the thread, it seems like I could have a faulty pump of some sort. Does anyone know of a fix for this or do I have to get it replaced? I've already contacted the company, was just curious if anyone had any input.

I've used the ion a few times now to provide my comments on it.

First of all, cheers to the ION team! They have been nothing but nice to me and hooked me up with free entrance to the expo and a private demo. We shared many bags over a few days.

Getting to know the unit was really simple. I just turned it on with the big power button, loaded the ground herb in the mini pan, set the temp, then the lcd turned green, and then I hit the fan button with a bag on. The bag filled up within a minute.

There were four of us sharing the bag and each got to pass around the bag twice before needing to refill. Readjusting the temperature up another 10 degrees was instant. The bowl also cooked completely even which was nice to see.

This was my first bag vape I've ever hit. I normally use my supreme vaporizer with glass or hit oil. Past vapes I used regularly were the DBV, MZ/WDZ, Iolite, and MFLB. The first thing I noticed that was different was that the ION was perfect for a party setup. Normally I am passing around the bong and passing around the whip or supreme which is a pain and can be dangerous. This was much more easier and we even were able to throw the bag around the room because of the weighted dock.

The taste was also surprising. I was expecting it to taste like the DBV or a whip based vape. The vapor tasted very clean and there were no particulates. The vapor wasn't as hot on my throat as I remember either. Made me miss dry hits again.

I really liked this vape. It was really easy to use and is perfect for group setups. Hopefully I can scrape up the cash to get one at the expo because they are on sale there.

Hey Quomist, since you own a Supreme too, maybe you can do a little comparison here so SV owners can get an idea of how thick the vapor is on the Zephyr. Think of your thickest hit you took from the Zephyr Ion, about what temperature on the Supreme would correlate to the same vapor density?

A good direct draw/convection vape will always have the capability of higher vapor density vs. bag fill. With pump or fan, you're always diluting the vapor when you fill a bag.

Max is right about his comparison. The Supreme Vaporizer makes thicker vapor every time due to the nature of the device.

I would compare the ION to the second or third hit from the Supreme. Lots of visible vapor but still translucent. The taste lasts much longer in the ION than the Supreme which is probably because it cooks it over a few bags rather than a few dense hits.

Bruce contacted me and is sending out a replacement for me. Great customer service.
Thanks man, glad to be appreciated. I would prefer for you not to have had a problem at all, but, since they are bound to happen sometimes, we will do our best to make it right, make you happy and fix the cause of the problem so they don't continue down the road.

***EDIT***

I was going to post this under the "your current vaporizer set up" thread but I kind of thought that since it was just the ION, that, from me it would come off more like an Ad in there,.......

I got back from Toronto and waiting for me were two nice packages, one from Hot box vapors with a two piece wand, tubing and a 14mm water-pipe adapter. The other package was the Cold Fuzion by Gravity vortex. I took the hotbox wand and put it on the nipple of the ION ( perfect fit {yes even I don't have the mythical ION whip!!}) put the other end into the ash catcher on the cold fuzion and it has changed my vaping style indeed,.. I am blown away can't hardly type this as I do,.. woooo hooo

so here is how I have my ION set up:

Also I had a small issue with my ION and Bruce replied to my e-mail with light-speed as well as provided all the information needed to put my mind as ease about issue I was having.

As always Bruce, A+++ Service and A+++ Product!

Highly recommended!

Got back from Toronto on Sunday - Bruce, sorry I didn't get to say goodbye. It was great meeting up, and your room was the best Vapor Lounge I've been in! We were all set for hours! We smoked a little bit of bud that my brother brought over, and some of what you gave us, then ran out of rolling papers. We had about half a gram left the night before we left. I couldn't sleep because it was ridiculously hot, and we were staying in the Massey College dorms (cheap), so there was no A/C. I wandered down to the basement and found the staff kitchen at 3am and started messing about. Put the bud on a hot frying pan, just enough to get wisps of smoke, then combined it with some rice krispies, vanilla extract, instant apple-cinnamon oatmeal, sugar, and peanut butter. We ate that right before crossing the border. What a trip for the way back! A great weekend! And Toronto is awesome!

AWESOME glad to have you on board!!

There is nothing in the airpath of the Zephyr Ion that would produce or release any bad oils or any oil that you didn't add to the machine.

Hey Bruce got my new Ion in the mail the thing works great (atleast in theory since I cant vap right now, gonna have the gf try it out tomorrow). Also I made those candies and holllllyyyyy shit they were amazing so my of my friends were totally :ko: by them, even traded a baggie of it to a friend for her glass bong and her gravity bong since she is going into the peace core and wanted to have some relaxing treats where ever she winds up

Always a pleasure man!

PS I'm taking the new Ion to my local head shop, the owner rants and raves on and on about how great the volcano is and to never use anything else. I'm gonna try and convert him :D may be I'll even pass a long your email if he seems interested.

EDIT

OH AND FUCK I'm gonna have to get me something set up like that fucking thing you got Bruce. I'm gonna also try and get a whip attachment from my head shop at least for now until the myth becomes true :p

Seriously though I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for that whip lol but I know it will be well worth it to have it done right!!!

I'm vaping with my new ION and the quality is remarkable! my first week with the unit it caused a pump problem, I thought I was out of luck, such a good product is sad to see end soon, so later on I found this forum and read how their custom service is outstanding, I emailed Bruce and was helpful and told me a new unit was on it's way. Few days later, ups came and there was my zephyr ion!! I opened it and noticed the new bags and are about 90% quieter than the original one. I used it as a 10 foot bag and knocked me an my frien on our ass. Thank you to the zephyr team and Bruce for a great product and a excellent vaporizer! I can't wait until the whip is available!

Good to have you all set up. Glad you are enjoying your ION.
There are some good posts on this site about what temps are good to vape at. I would suggest doing a little search and you will be amazed at the amount of information available on here. You will be a vape expert in no time.

I actually Vap at 360-380 depending on my mood and the type of vapor I want. 365-370 is around where I vap on a day to day basis. If I burned my throat with a bong hit that day or the day before I'll vap at 360 sometimes 355. If I wanna get knocked on my ass I crank it up to 375-380. It's all about preference and what you are looking to get. The 365-370 is a solid range I think. First bag is always powerful but you wont kill the bowl which will allow for the next few bags to still have some kick but slightly less intensity.

Best advice I can give is start at 360 and work your way up or down from there. This is a big personal preference thing and only by experimenting will you figure out what's best for you.

Flashing green light means the temperature is higher than what you have set on the screen. Flashing red light means it isn't up to temp yet. Solid green means it's just right!

Fluffy, I think it would be most appreciated.

*Edit*..We are working on a video but I will put some basic steps here.

Remove the bag from the mouthpiece (pull it off, takes a little force but should come right off)
Remove the cover from the mouthpiece
Along either edge of the long edge of the cover, you can simply pry it open with your fingernails
Pry the old zip tie up and over the plastic lip. ( A key works well, also if you are in Canada, a toonie works perfectly)
Start the new zip tie and close it about halfway
feed the new bag (about 3")through the mouthpiece cover
feed the new bag (About 2.5") through the zip tie
stick your finger in the bag to open an airpath,
fold the excess bag backward around the ziptie
Place the bag covered ziptie around the connection on the mouthpiece
*note* It does not have to be pretty, you can trim it up later
Close the zip tie as tight as possible
trim excess bag and excess zip tie
close cap back into position.
vape your brains

Hey guys, I did all the research I can and chose the Zephyr Ion for my Vaporizer. I bought one about a month ago and its been awesome! I had a couple questions.

1. I read how to clean the vaporizer(im pretty OCD about it) and there is just one big problem. I cant really clean the inside of the stem/straw at the top. Where the vape comes out of. I was wondering how you guys keep that part clean?

2. The screen on the top fits perfect, but the screen on the bottom seems like it is too big and it is squished in there. Anyone else get this?

3. How often do you have to change the air filter on the bottom?

4. I did not purchase my zephyr through a authorized dealer, what kind of repair or warranty can I expect?

I just read the the stem at the top is measured for a 14mm hose/adapter? I want to go buy one and try the crazy stuff that Bruce did!

Other than that I think the Zephyr is better than any vaporizer i have ever tried! The guys behind it have done an amazing job!! Only thing to make this better would be a ZEPHYR ION WHIP!!! (CANT WAIT!!!!)

My word on the using whips to attach a bong. I use my Da Buddha wand (the original one so I do not know about the smaller ones or the ones they have changed since then) but it is not a tight connection and some vapor leak from under the wand occurs but if you hold it down it a bit it lessons quite a bit. I dont care much but I am waiting for the day when I have a proper fitting wand.

When I change my bag I do it a bit differently.

1st cut the bag off. I use scissors.
2nd I remove the mouthpiece top cover. I use a small regular screw driver and it pops right off.
3rd I use small scissors to snip the old zip tie off and remove the remaining old bag. Be sure not to snip the white plastic piece in the mouth piece when cutting old zip tie.
4th I feed the new bag through the first part of the mouth piece you pried off.
5th I place the bag around the mouthpiece collar where the zip tie was. I move the bag around collar and pull the bag tight around the collar and secure the tip tie and trim extra bag if needed.
6th connect the cover to the top of the mouthpiece, snap it in place and your ready to go.

I hope that helps.
