Inclusive?
His cabinet is a who's who of racists.
There is nothing inclusive about him or his party.

Are you referring to his cabinet being one less minority and equal with amount of women as Bill?

In any case throwing around the racist word is a sure fire way to lead to a lack of discussion. The reason those other threads get shut down is because of sweeping generalizations with harshly negative connotations. Then the opposite party who takes offense to the bias that paints them as dumb/racist/etc gets more aggressive, etc, etc and thread devolves.

It's happened on both sides of coin so I'm not calling out you or left or anything just saying the only way we will ever be able to discuss this stuff is if we leave sweeping negative generalizations at the door.

This is a good random thought in itself :) but something else I was gonna bring up was that genetics are fascinating. Saw an article about some people in Ecuador or Peru or something that evolved quite quickly to have flat feet because they are climbing trees all the time. Similarly webbed feet on another group somewhere in the SoPa where they live basically on/in water. Stuff like that is fascinating to me. Similarly the blue eyed blonde haired Pakistani's that are remnants of Alexander the Greats army.

The media whores---> The split dem vote---> Trump's dog-whistles---> What really happened?

Imo it was simple, and frustratingly easy.

All the warmongering corporations had to do to defeat their only enemy (bernie) was to rig the primaries for killary. They did by dragging the democratic party leadership to the "right", into the gutter.

Once that happened (and it was publicly confirmed by the email leaks), any advantage that the democrats may have had was lost. Now american nationalism/"greatness" looms large, and these corporations will be empowered. To what end nobody seems to know, but I have my ideas and they aren't pretty.

:myday:
The Republican that was the exact same corporatist as Hillary was Jeb. Same money, same people, same clubs, same wholly controlled subsidiary of Goldman Sacs and their ilk. I knew there was no way I would vote for either. Here we are with a President few would predict who has a staff of people who got little money from the corporations (Until the inauguration.), who have a claim to be outsiders and who come in to "drain the swamp" have a Treasury secretary nominee who used to work for...Goldman Sacs.

Still so much learning to do. :):):)
guess you came a long way in a year. Even have a Puff it up tray and a scientist stirrer.

Easily a 4 year degree in Vapology!!!!
at FC university.

My latest study at FCU. Cleaning my arsenal of vapes and glass. Been posting on the PBW thread my progress. My heat adapters and @DDave glass still have some glaze left from over a year of being used. But otherwise
squeaky clean glass. Now to get a weekly cleaning routine going to keep down the maintenance and waste side if things. More with less with using the cleaning supplies.

Have an ELB rotation, a method of getting reclaim with ISO and a silicone tray. So these systems are in play. Can revape and extract ABV even further with the EVO and a water piece. So there is less waste. Qwiso or coconut oil for the final extraction. Waste not want not.

To think I bought a PAX 2 years ago and was looking for a forum that had some answers. Now I'm a well rounded vaporist at FCU.

His cabinet is a who's who of racists.
There is nothing inclusive about him or his party.

@Silat: Yes I said his speech was inclusive, cos when he said 'people,' I didn't think he was speaking in code and referring only to 'some people,' when he stated something along the lines of "that it doesn't matter if you're Black Brown or White, you bleed the same blood of patriotism" I thought that was an inclusive analogy. The thing about Trump from what I can see, is that he isn't a typical 'party' person. He is a Business Man, and yes that is a code and a good topic for discussion. Although I concede that it wasn't stated within the post you refer to.

I noted that you stated that his cabinet's "a who's who of racists" so does that include Ben Carson, indeed I was shocked how the Media (at least round here) seemed to completely ignore the fact that Carson was one of the first member of his cabinet to be confirmed, and 'Housing' seems to be a pretty important position!

Anyway moving on from that, two things that occurred to me are;
1) Trump is moving to wage a war on China, but it ain't going to be a conventional 'Bombs and Guns' War, not if he can help it, no this war is gonna be the economic war! Cos Trump realizes that China has the US in a financial strangle hold, and he has to break that grip in order to reduce debt and realise his promise to bring back American Jobs, etc!

2) Fighting with Russia is not really on his agenda (if he can help it) cos, as was pointed out the other day, (and is the truth,) is that the many trillions of dollars of debt that has been accrued by The US, is roughly the equivalent to that amount which has been spent on WAR! Now I ain't out to upset anyone here, but, (the truth usually does have a way of doing that), just check the costs of War, and then consider what has The US gained from the expense? Cos it seems to me that the 'cost' has been countless lost lives, countless injured, maimed and broken soldiers, broken infrastructure, and a 'fucked' country!
I mean ask yourselves in the few years who the fuck have you been fighting, and what for? Cos the truth is, that it wasn't Saddam who blew the World Trade Centre, nor was it the Afghans, but look at how much has been spent to annihilate them countries, whilst the real perps just sit there laughing and drinking up the rest of money in aid! WTF!!! If there has been a benefit to war, it hasn't been realized by the vast majority of the US people, who are still screaming, bawling and crying out for change, just as they were 8 yrs ago. So if he's saying "Nah! To war and the of funding war, I'm spending money on infrastructure and (re)building the country instead", then I can't fault that. (If that is, what he's actually means,)

Indeed the more I've listened, the more I found that it is the establishment (media pundits, politicians and the like) that are telling me their own opinions of his speech, rather than concentrating on what he (f)actually said, cos what he said and what he's supposed to have said - as according to the 'fake news, 'oh he'll never make it' commentators is two entirely different things, indeed!

For the record, I'm merely just a passer-by simply observing and using my own critical faculties!

not saying:2c: just saying:hmm: without saying;)

Patty and I are very happy.
We do not get out much, but last night we went out to dinner.
We ate at a Texas Roadhouse close to our home.
We sat in a booth in our favorite area, which has 9 (YES,,,,NINE!) big
screen TVs surrounding that room.
Each TV had a different broadcast showing, or sport event
Not one of the Televisions had the inauguration on it.
We are proudly politically apathetic!
We made conversation with our server about how delighted we were to see 9 channels and none showed
speeches or parades.
He said that under no circumstance would they ever air anything political or any news program.
After not voting again next time around, we will dine there in 4 years on the next inauguration day as well!

This is an excellent point that dovetails neatly into this article:

Chinese Billionaire Says US Wasted Trillions On Wars And Wall Street
Alibaba founder Jack Ma said the U.S. should stop blaming other countries for stealing jobs and, instead, invest in ‘your own people’.

jack_ma-e1484936032303.jpg

Above Photo: "In the past 30 years, America had 13 wars spending $14.2 trillion," said Alibaba founder Jack Ma. "What if the money was spent on the Midwest of the United States?" (Photo via CNBC)

Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland on Wednesday, Chinese billionaire Jack Ma accused the United States of spending too much money on foreign wars and risky financial speculation and not enough money “on your own people.”

The founder of the world’s largest retailer, Alibaba, was addressing a question posed by CNBC‘s Andrew Ross Sorkin about the U.S. economy in relation to China.

In response, Ma said the U.S. should stop blaming other countries and look at its own spending priorities:

“It’s not that other countries steal jobs from you guys. It’s your strategy. You did not distribute the money and things in a proper way.”He said the U.S. has wasted over $14 trillion in fighting wars over the past 30 years rather than investing in infrastructure at home.

Ma said that when Thomas Friedman published the 2005 pro-globalization tribute The World is Flat, taking advantage of the world economy seemed like “a perfect strategy” for the U.S.

“We just want the technology, and the IP, and the brand, and we’ll leave the other jobs” to other countries like Mexico and China, he said, according to Business Insider. “American international companies made millions and millions of dollars from globalization.”

“The past 30 years, IBM, Cisco, Microsoft, they’ve made tens of millions—the profits they’ve made are much more than the four Chinese banks put together,” he continued. “But where did the money go?”

“The money goes to Wall Street. Then what happened? Year 2008 wiped out $19.2 trillion in U.S. income,” he said. What’s more, he added, “In the past 30 years, America had 13 wars spending $14.2 trillion…no matter how good your strategy is you’re supposed to spend money on your own people.”

“What if the money was spent on the Midwest of the United States?” he asked. “What if they had spent part of that money on building up their infrastructure, helping white-collar and blue-collar workers? You’re supposed to spend money on your own people.”

While he did emphasize that globalization is a good thing, according to CNBC, Ma reportedly noted that it “‘should be inclusive,’ with the spoils not just going to the wealthy few.”

Ma’s critique came weeks after he attended a meeting in New York City with President-elect Donald Trump, who has threatened to impose punitive tariffs against the Asian superpower.

When asked about that conversation, the internet tycoon “said the consequences of a trade war between the world’s biggest and second-largest economies would be too grave for both countries to bear and they should do everything to avoid it,” reported the South China Morning Post, which Ma owns.

“It’s so easy to launch a war. It’s so difficult, almost impossible sometimes, to terminate that war,” he said. “The Iraq war, the Afghanistan war, are those finished?”

I hope trump and his posse (pc usage because they're not of color?) agree.

I watched V for Vendetta before bed Friday night & it was only while watching the dog & pony show Saturday morning I saw how fitting it was.

Living across a vast ocean, without a vested interest in either side Trump was a easy conclusion some time out. The Dems were complacent, complacent & hitched their wagon to an unelectable candidate. Combine that with a marginalized & forgotten middle America who Trump pandered to in most general terms & there could have been no other outcome. Some you win, some you lose.

Trump is a cartoon character & I find the people he is surrounding himself with to be a fucking dangerous combination for the planet. That is the most worrying thought to me is Pence. No matter how he tries to mask it he oozes religious fundamentalism from every pore.

Under Trump I can see America taking a more isolationist stance globally & that is not a bad thing if money wasted offshore if used as funding for capital projects to

I would find things rather banal if the following were not so serious
  • Costs to build "the wall" are estimated between $5-40 billion
  • US military budget for for 2015 was $597 billion
People saying "we can't afford a wall" should do the math. The cost of building the wall would circulate several times through local economies providing stimulus greater than the cost to the government. An ugly but sad truth especially if you divest from fighting expensive proxy wars.

Trump seems to relish the idea of being the insurgent president, that will be tweeting out states of national affairs in 42 words or less directly to his minions. Will this be new type of direct democracy, or an orwellian nightmare? It's perhaps revolutionary, and entirely logical for a former reality show host to take this type of approach imo. Like was said last night: is he putting together a cabinet, or the crew of a pirate ship?

@grokit, I'm glad that you got the gist of what I was saying, cos this was exactly what I was referring to, and the truth is, it really is a grim statistic. As for the point you raise re tweeting, then yeah, why not? Cos it seems that we're getting in 140 characters, the same amount of info that you'd get watching a full news bulletin from the likes of CNN, BBC, NBC, etc (and the rest of the fake news) and it's probably more accurate. Lol!

Meanwhile, I saw on the news, that John Kerry was out marching, in protest!
Now I ain't even going to say WTF, in fact I just stared and said nothing! Instead I just wondered how many women (innocent women) have died or have been condemned to a living hell based upon the policies he's been pushing?

I think the fact that people are pissed is good, insofar as whilst it lasts, it suggests that people are actually looking at the system and for a fleeting moment, they see it for what its, before 99% of them turn over and go right back to sleep!

Indeed I'm wondering if what we're witnessing here, is the 'proverbial' three stages,
1st) Ridicule,
2nd) Violently Opposed,
3rd) Accepted as patently obvious!
If that is indeed the case then it looks like its 2 down and one to go!
Sometimes, it takes the worst to bring out the best, I say sometimes, cos as they say, "the road to ruin is littered with good, (and at times great) intentions!"

I just find it disturbing that the same media who've serve the elite oppressors, are the ones who are broadcasting the narrative about the events! I know that the view that is been served up is not a true and factual account of what is happening, rather we are being fed selective views (pictures) and narratives that have been prepared by a seemingly central source, cos if you flick on the various outlets, you'll see that most of the pundits are running the same lies and mis-truths, and more often than not, they simply censure or substitute the real news with the narrative they've designed specifically to bring about hatred and fear, i.e. the strategy of tension!

@Silat; made the point about 'racists in his cabinet,' now maybe that is true, but if it is, and that is indeed his agenda, then he's just cutting his own throat, cos I've noted since Bush there have been diversity in Government, but if you're real, then you'd know that it doesn't matter what color the oppressor is, cos you're against the very notion of oppression itself, As the religious minded always like to preach, "do unto others, as you would like done unto you" (or words to that effect, sorry I ain't religious.) So unless you are saying that 'nobody can ever change', then it might just be worth holding back and seeing how it plays out, at least to the point where you can actually say - there is indeed a negative policy being unfairly enacted against a particular group of people. I mean it wasn't that long ago there was a spate of 'unsavory' incidents that were happening right across The US, and that was under a 'diverse' administration, and yet still, the 'Overseer' in Chief, still had a high approval rating, it kinda looks like swings and roundabouts.

But hey, lets not get into semantics, cos the truth is, I ain't a political person, I don't vote, as I don't participate in what I know to be a flawed system of control!

However, what I do have, is the 'critical' faculties to entertain ideas without actually accepting them, and I'm able to also realize the complete nonsense of it all, that is why I can make a objective and (politically) impartial comment on such things and then just as quickly shrug them off, whilst getting back to the things that really matter (to me), Vaping, Plants, Chickens, Cats, and Bees, in fact all of the pleasant things that life provides....

PS; I'm just asking, but not really expecting a 'proper' answer, but after seeing 'women' rising up, on a 'worldwide' scale, proudly wearing pussy caps, etc! I just wondered, albeit very briefly, where's the march against Saudi Arabia and those places where women are kept subservient and mistreated on a daily basis? I have to assume there were no women marching up and down in Saudi Arabia and those places, and if they were, it certainly wasn't featured on the main stream fake news. Where's the outcry against 'decades if not centuries' of blatant mistreatment of the (sacred) feminine?

If Trump's remarks are to be considered to be so offensive, then surely using the 'actions speaks louder than words' analogy, there should've been an 'worldwide' uproar at how women are treated in those areas, but there ain't!.

Kinda makes you wonder! Why the fuck not?

'Truth is kinda like gravity, inasmuch as both are all pervading, and both are powerful enough to keep 'things' grounded, yet at the same time, both are weak enough to be manipulated by powerful forces, but only for a period of time!'

I must say that the last 3 posts here are an excellent example of opposing opinions that are so well put without the vitriol or rhetoric that has become synonymous with US politics as of late.
Well done & well said

and im not dissing any posts previous either.

but the 3 above me sum up many of the issues needed to be considered to move forward.
But to me there seems to be some consensus there, (I may have some drunky face, well no may about it)

This consensus is the possible platform to build a new paradigm.
Where goeth the USA goeth the world.

EDIT- now I realise my new siggie would possibly negate what I just said. but its brand new, let me keep for at least one day. cause I wanna, its so 'fuck you' and thats 'in' right now. just from the other side

Robert Reich is one of those (not enough) that had it right all along. The reality is the democrats are on the ropes, and it's their own fault. The same could be said about our mainstream news media imo.

"The future is bleak unless the party radically reforms itself. If Republicans do well in the 2018 midterms, they’ll control Congress and the Supreme Court for years. If they continue to hold most statehouses, they could entrench themselves for a generation.

We are now in a populist era. The strongest and most powerful force in American politics is a rejection of the status quo, a repudiation of politics as usual and a deep and profound distrust of elites, including the current power structure of America.

That force propelled Donald Trump into the White House. He represents the authoritarian side of populism. Bernie Sanders’ primary campaign represented the progressive side.

The question hovering over America’s future is which form of populism will ultimately prevail. At some point, hopefully, Trump voters will discover they’ve been hoodwinked. Even in its purist form, authoritarian populism doesn’t work because it destroys democracy. Democrats must offer the alternative.

The economy is not working for most Americans..."

I'm somewhat of a history buff. Some time when I'm in that frame, I might be a good time to study or reexamine the tensions that led to WWI. It was a different ball of wax or was it? But the world stage has been shaken as alliances were dramatically being redrawn and reformed. Then a flashpoint. Every time I look into the subject I come up with a different conclusion as to what led up to the assassination then the free for all that occurred afterward. It doesn't all point to one thing either. Unless you are about to tell me that economic instability alone creates the wars like a few of my H.S. history teachers would often reiterate.

Anyway found a series that has a format that I like that makes it easier to digest the subject matter. It has a short video covering every week of the war. So you can watch it chronologically.
It might be dry for some. Not sensational and drawing like say the History channel. Some scholars will go deeper on certain aspects or emphasis. I haven't checked it's accuracy. But, I like the format.

I think the world would be wise to take heed of the events of 100 years ago. It is getting to the point where it will be choose a side time once again. Last time the US stood back & watched empires bleed out before swooping for the kill. This time the US potentially stands to lose it's empire. Circle of life & all that jazz.

One thing I don't quite get is how Obama is such a man of peace yet he sent troops to exercise on the Russian border right before he leaves office. Would America accept such provocation & allow Russia to conduct war games in Mexico? Happy to be shown I am wrong but it really seems unnecessarily aggressive posturing to this layman.

The world really needs to take a chill pill but it appears that China, Russia & the US are only on day three of the meth bender of all meth benders.

I would profoundly take issue with the claim our Peace Prize award winning former president is a "man of peace", but, I don't see this anywhere near as aggressive as near term Russian actions OR as "conducting war games". War games are huge undertakings of men and materiel. This deployment (If it is the same as you are talking about.) has to do with a rotating deployment of 300 marines. (In that the total number will be 300, but over the next 20 years there is a planned rotation of the actual people there.)

Now, I am positive any of those 300 Marines who are being deployed to Norway for training in cold weather warfare for the next 20 years will tell you the deployment will threaten Russia because they are Marines and have a certain Esprit de Corps about their ability to deal with enemies. I'm sure they would love it if Russia felt the same way.

The Great War was started by a two .380 bullets with patriotism/ego fanning the flames. The cost was Europe decimated, four empires destroyed & two crippled with over 38,000,000 casualties & 17,000,000 dead. All from two fucking bullets.

Well this thread got less random and more political....

One unexpected benefit of vaping seems to be that hair does not burn and vape temps....

Not that my cannabis would be riddled with such filth, as I am lab clean......

But the rare few times I get some street draw for some reason, it's always got fluff or dogs hair, or worse (pubic???) in it....

I never actually end up vaping other draw as I can't get over the germs and contaminants that may be on it, i dont even like the thought that the grower may have coughed over it. So it gets donated to a smoker, or sits there for months until it finds a home....

Being self sufficient and vaping may have made my cannabis related ocd worse...

Looking at how many Goldman Sachs people are in the Trump Administration, kinda makes you wonder if Hillary was ever gonna make it, yeah they had down her as the favorite, but what does that mean in an inverted world?, Yeah that's right the exact opposite.

The TPTB have played a blinder, they've probably been whispering promises in her ear for a long time. I mean, it was her who came up with Obama 'Kenya' thing, which Trump ran with for so long, - giving him notoriety from the get go, - then lo and behold, when the debates took place and she tried to use it against him, he dropped it back on her like a sledgehammer, "yeah, but it was you who started it!" Ouch!!!
Now maybe I'm still tripping, but given that Goldman Sachs has been involved for the last 130+ years in providing advice for the administration, and given that Trump is a business man, then sometimes; two plus two does actually equal four!

Now that the Trump is in, we can see the age of 'CORPOCRACY' I don't know if that's a real term, but I use it to describe the age of the Corporation. Kinda scary that, when the LEGAL PERSONAGE has now more or less taken over from the real person, that is what the advent of the Trump era could mean literally.

But when the likes of Democrats have endorsed the likes of Hillary over Saunders by using foul means, then what do you expect? I mean scream all you want about hacking, but if that what it takes to uncover an unpalatable truth, then I'm all for it. I don't think that PUBLIC concerns should be hiding things that concern the public, especially when such hidden things are evidence of malpractice etc!
People were kinda 'deliberately' duped into thinking that Trump was the underdog, and Hillary was the popular favorite, but that was all orchestrated, cos they had their money on Trump all the time, and any impartial person could see that, I mean I only became marginally interested when it came to the debates, sure I'd seen clips here and there about Trump and how 'he could not win, 'he'll never get to the White House' blah blah! However, on watching the first debate onwards, I for one could see that this guy had a swagger about him that suggested he knew, and that he knew cos TPTB had endorsed him as theirs.
Now I ain't talking the elite here, I'm talking about the real THE POWERS THAT BE, the arch manipulators. The ones that are so hidden, that the merest whiff of publicity to them, is like sunlight to a vampire! Them hidden bastards!

So here we are, kinda approaching the fork in the road, wonder which way he'll go???

Reading over this page it has taken a turn & certainly should get back to the random irrelevant shit we are thinking that makes this thread always on the front page of the lounge.
Well I can understand why people need to express these things. especially post inauguration. :ugh: Hopefully things will balance themselves and people will open up on a different topic and allow for the more random, organic, apolitical, personal thoughts to surface. As in cultivating ones own garden.

My thing- To avoid derailing but keep a balanced discussion, I myself try not to participate in any echo chamber type discussion on politics and avoid being a 'me too'. Unless I have something new to add. Also having a longer view of events, will prevent me from donning my special hat. :tinfoil:

Europe was a political tinderbox for a host of reasons and that was the spark. Ironically, the one person that was against open warfare and kept those parties at bay was assassinated early on. Lot of that type of tragic theme running through it's history.
