Some friendly competition never hurt anyone right! (Except maybe those with severe VAS...)

So glad others are getting these awesome looking Spalted units. I felt bad being one of few! Yours looks amazing man. If ours had a baby, ohhhhhh boyyyyyy.

i cleaned all my contacts
battery positive side down (doesn't matter i heard)

after a session, the battery is warm to quite warm but not very warm

what about u guys? same?

Since was there is a coat applied to some of the copper battery hatch in the past it needs to be sanded / scraped off to expose bare, bright copper. Once the copper and brass thumb screw contact areas are sanded, then clean all the papers with Isopropyl alcohol.

If your Milaana seems to have weak vapor with a fresh battery even with long button on times and the copper gets hot follow the process above. A battery can normally get somewhat warm with extended use. However, if a hot battery / copper is coupled with low vapor production than high contact resistance is most likely your problem.

I think my main issue is airflow, when i pull harder, all the herbs, originally for example took up maybe 1" from stem tip to basket, but after a hard pull all the herbs are bunched up in 1/2" length and i have to use the stir stick to get it out/loosened and reload it back into the stem, i get better results from pulling slow, letting the air flow thru

This might be where your having issues compared to others. I don't think people fill 1 inch of herb in the stem normally but rather put .05 - .1 in the basket itself near the stems tip. I could be wrong though but it isn't something I've seen done before.

I had the same issue with mi Laana and also with the Project with which I use Milaana screens. Due to the high airflow if the load is not tamped well or if the basket is not full or the load is not so sticky that becomes a "puck" after the first draw, it will move all over the place and air will just pass around it. It is an every day issue with convection vaporizers... Draw slower, pack better, tamp it down if it's very loose in there, that's what I usually do. And draw slower if needed.

Oh yeah, screen basket style with the brim at the same level with the tip of the stem so when it's full the heater screen keeps the load tamped down. At least until it shrinks from the heat, then you need tamping down again.

How'd u clean urs
I dissembled it and used a q-tip lightly dipped in acetone then again in wd40 to clean the threads, and some fine steel wool on the underside of the brass lid. I held my milaana upside down while cleaning the threads so I didn't drip on the wood, because then I would have to start a whole new wood-finishing project lol.

In the '70's, we used Acetone as a cleaning solvent. Then we learned that it's a carcinogen, and also causes nerve damage. Until we learned that, we used it daily, and my fingers started going numb. Fortunately, my nerve endings recovered, but that shit ain't going near my vapes. Search for the MSDS.

Try vinegar and salt next time, the second i dropped my copper and brass in there and used the salt to rub it, good like new

you got me drooling all over.. And I'm in bed already. Yes, I'm now officially a bed drooler
 Don't worry, it comes to us all in the end! Heh! Classic 'n00b! Love ya bro.
what's her real name? VyV and Johnny got a lil siz,
Well, I actually feel that 'Milaaana' is a very fitting name, and as I'm already completely 'under the thumb' so to speak . . . . she will simply be known as 'The Missus'.

After all, she is the Mi to my Zi.

And sometimes I call her 'lil Milz'. or 'Millie'. In fact, I think she's so damn cute that she's just gotta have multiple pet-names! Yeah, she my little schnookumz!

@Copacetic - glad you liked the pics . . . but breathe bro, breathe! :goat:
I'm sure you'll be basking in your own spaltiness before too long . . . :dog:
Wow @VegNVape your pics always fill my heart with joy!
Well, mission accomplished! I'm so pleased to hear that.
And just lettuce know when you wanna link & we'll make it happen.

Finally, I thought y'all might like this little size comparison shot of a few of the vapes in my line-up . . . . I sometimes find it difficult to get a realistic idea of the size of some the vaporizers I'm interested in, so this should help anyone in the same boat who is considering investing in the Milaana :sherlock:

Hell yeah! I'm a big boy and I can regulate my damn self!
:peace:

For people who have difficulty with harshness of vapor....

I have asthma and am very sensitive to smoke and vapor. Back in my combustion days I would always cough the most and loudest.

I found the vapor to be quite harsh when I first got my Milaana and I would cough pretty often, however, I've been able to adjust technique and get cooler vapor while still getting big clouds, and as of late, I'm consistently getting clouds and not coughing at all.

Here's my latest technique. The key is rhythm (something that musicians like myself can be quite good at!).

-Medium-fine grind via SCS, Medium tamp, filling at least 3/4, typically full pack.
-I try to get a stable low-medium temp by priming the heater, 1-2 seconds on, brief <1 second off, 4+ times, repeat more times when the battery capacity is lower.
-With the button pressed, I start to inhale slowly to build up the heat, and as I feel the heat build up, my draw gets faster and faster, typically drawing for about 3 seconds or so (timing dependent on speed of heat buildup, battery life, key is rhythm), then release the button when I feel the heat reach a certain point (that's the feel/rhythm I can't quite describe), not getting too hot, then clear for about a second give or take, and repeat as many times as lung capacity allows, starting with the slow draw, taking a long clear at the end.

The feel of it is like riding a wave, or like a sine graph. There is very little need to stir, 95%+ of the pack gets spent. I hope this helps folks with more sensitive lungs. I'm loving it!

Milaana. Lana. LANA. LANAAAA! (TM2/TP80/BAK/FW9)
Has anyone here have any success with a tight load ? Or milaana only works with loose load ?

It works with anything really, too tight though you can restrict airflow and end up with hot spots as the bottom stays green, too loose and air can move past herbs through the screen so somewhere in between is always ideal. Of course grind plays a factor too, medium is best, but finer means a tighter pack and courser means a looser pack... As I said I just pour herbs in and take the first hit upside so the heat naturally tamps it until you stir (I always like to flip bowls so green can get on top without overcooking any spots for best flavor preservation and most even extraction)

@jazzyvapeman thanks for the technique. I recently upgraded an older V1 to a V2 which runs a bit hotter and needed to feather the button more with a fresh battery. I also found that running the screen deeper is more controllable as the load tends to compact less making for more even roasting top to bottom. It also allows room for stirring with less chance of spilling.

Milaana means Modulate :)

Fresh batch of V2's headed off to @cannabis.pro today and our friends at Vaped.com are in stock as well.

Been playing with my Mi a little more at home since getting the DDave VaporCooler. Usually I only use my portables when out. I do enjoy the 14mm with reducer, but the VaporCooler is kicking my ass! Maybe because I usually go through water at home (with nano), but am used to the Mi dry - and am taking larger hits. Really not sure, though.

During the day, I'll often grab a quick hit or two through Mi or a VC. Just a little nudge or two so as not to get too stoned to get shit done. The VaporCooler has fucked that all up a few times. Can't believe how much it kicks my ass compared to going dry with same load in same vape. First time I thought it must be me, or I loaded too much, or grabbed a particularly strong nug. Nope! Yesterday afternoon it took me from 0 - 100 with 3 hits! Had to put shit off I needed to do until I recovered a couple hours later.

So, be forewarned. Unregulated + 14mm + a little water = STONED - at least that's the way it is going for me. And, while using the standard 18mm to an 18mm bubbler will give a nice buzz (or more if you keep hitting), the tiny little VaperCooler through 14mm reducer will rock your world and quickly! Going to have to try and see if reducer to regular 14mm bubb has the same kick, but not until after dinner. ;)
