I have ELBS for my wife's CFX and they work fine after sizing and do have flower tanks coming. I use tanks every day in my Flowermates so next week we will see how they do for the CFX.

Flowermate 5.0s pro also ordered.

Southern Chef, if you place a screen in the mp and one in the WPA, the screens collect reclaim. When the screen gets gooey, fold it up and vape it. Or soak it in grain alcohol to make a tincture. Doc

using elb vs stock cfx besides convienance of the of the elb being filled, and getting honey, any other Benefits? How is the condition of herb after a session, the same? Are you getting the same amount of clouds?

You can pull the load out mid session or at the end of a session so the herb doesn't get anymore cooked. Better airflow as the screens are finer. More convection on first hits. You can fill a few ELB's to take on a trip. It stretches your herb more then as you turn it more on demand ( put the ELB in when the unit is up to heat rather than from start of heat-up)

I haven't used this mod, but I would imagine it also keeps the chamber of the CFX nice and clean. Mine looks like shit lol.

Thanks for answering my questions on elb, but what is the quality of the herb after used using elb? Nice and brown or still has some green? Do you have to stir like cfv? I don't like stirring...

The ELB's work well and produce nice even tones of brown ABV. My wife is using the tanks right now to see how she likes those. It works best to pour ground herb to where the top screen lightly presses on it. First hit or two are just a hint of fuller hits that follow.

For those using the ELBs with the CF/X, are you also using it with the top-hat on the bucket and the filter unscrewed from the WPA when bubbling it through water? Thats the best way to go I've found, you get great airflow and zero clogs to deal with.

That's how I use mine, ELB's all the way. I secretly hope the mini bubbler has the same configuration as that will be whipped off as soon as it arrives and replaced with an ELB cover (hope it then fits the CFX with no other modding)

My favorite way of using my CF is to pack the bowl about 1/4 of the way full, place a neatly cut Arizer screen over the top of my load and tamp it down lighty, not too firm as you wanna leave a lil room for airflow, then to keep stuff from moving around in my oven i prefer to drop the oil tank pod on top with nothing in it and the top screwed off of the pod. Then i place my wpa on top and turn up level 4, i wait roughly 30-35 secs after it reaches temp, this greatly improves vapor density on the first 2-3 rips. Ive been pairing it with my new Gravs labs upright bubbler, it milks like crazy!

Sounds like the pod is almost like the pearl in the DaVinci iq to help pack in herb and radiate that extra heat in the chamber, interesting. ...

Yeah it works in that way, it seems to make the bowl extract quicker too, cuz sometimes i just forget to add the pod, or if i got my screen in their tight enough i'll leave it out altogether and i notice the bowl last a bit longer without the oil tank in there. I just find i like it with my material packed down because i get less air in my vapor during draws, and it makes greater visual clouds with that extra conduction.

Can you still use the screen till the whole screen gooey or just the section covering the opening?

This thread has been a little dormant, i know i know we are all enjoying our cfx. I found this nice vid, pretty funny too! I'm curios does anyone know the ratio between convection and conduction on these excellent units.

this HTML class. Value is
Great question, would love someone to do a proper test and then with the ELB method to see how more efficient it is.

After using the CFV for awhile, I finally got my glass bong back and decided to try it with the CFX for the first time. Wow are the two made for each other! The part that makes it especially nice is using it in combination with the ELB mod.

What you do is unscrew the bottom filter off the WPA and instead use an ELB with a top hat on it in the CF/X chamber. Screw the WPA into place and go. The top hat gives better airflow, and more importantly, doesn't gum up or get clogged like the normal filter. When your load is cached, you can just swap pre-filled ELBs in and keep going. It's a great capsule system.
