Here's the original study:

http://csatc.org/pdf-Scientific-Research/Watanabe2007.pdf

Here's the end of the abstract from the study:

"The present study demonstrated that CBD can be converted to ∆9 -THC and its related cannabinoids, 9α- OH-HHC and 8-OH-iso-HHC, in artificial gastric juice, and that these HHCs show ∆9 -THC-like effects in mice, although their pharmacological effects were less potent than those of ∆9 -THC."

The following quote from the same study is an important reminder to only consider the original research report (in this case, the journal article) rather than general media articles about the original paper:

"In biological systems, there have been no reports on the conversion of CBD to ∆9 -THC itself."

As above: This study does not demonstrate, nor does it cite any sources that demonstrate CBD being converted to THC of any kind in actual animals of any kind (and only looks at the effects of the HHC's they made outside of any animal in artificial gastric juice which was then injected into mice, not humans).

The same study on the same page (p. 17) also highlights that CBD has never been shown to become any kind of THC through smoking in any model, whether biological or otherwise.

The claim that CBD might become THC in a human who eats CBD is not persuasive, since the model has never to my knowledge been demonstrated in any living thing ;)
I was having a hash church deja vu with this post! lol

This topic cropped up on Hash Church this week. Dr. Mark Scialdone (a scientific peer for whom I have a great respect!) can be seen strongly arguing at about 30 mins into this video
that CBD can isomerize into THC in the stomach. Unfortunately he seemed to be conflating the possibility of this isomerization using other acidic preparations to unequivocal evidence of the process in a human being - which does not yet exist as we have discussed in my post above and as some other Hash Church panelists raise in the episode this week.

Skunkman Sam fascinatingly raised a study where people were fed 700mg of CBD a day for a prolonged period and the isomerization was never observed. I'll have to dig around for that one later!

My favorite type of concentrate is not listed... I like lots of things that are listed like BHO, bubble, rosin but I prefer dry sift the most.

Here is some of yesterday's sift work that I'm nearly done cleaning, it's above 90% but not "clean" yet... I guess some people would call this done but, having never made 99.99% pure full-melt dry sift before, I am gonna do my damndest to try before calling it "done".

Living in a state that's still stuck in the throws of prohibition, I'm not often afforded the luxury of concentrates. They're costly and hard to find. And while consistency, quality, and regularity have improved drastically, it's rarely worth writing home about, and it's never anything specific.

So when my buddy told me what he had recieved I was absolutely enthralled! Bear with me in my excitement, but these are the first true medical extracts I've had the fortune to get my hands on.

The Pineapple Express is incredibly terpy. It smells and tastes like chewing on a handful of skittles! By far my favorite of the three. The Shishkaberry and Strawberry Kush seem to be less flavorful and have more sedative indica effects to them, but I still have some taste testing to do before I render my verdict :ko:

@momofthegoons - Mom, I've been waiting to do this for a very long time. I have drooled over the concentrate pics you have posted for the last 9 months or so and pay back is sweet! SWEET I say. LOL

Now, this may not be a great picture, but this indica Jupiter OG is right up my alley. Enjoy :luv:
