i much prefer a nice solid bong, that i can just set down.

I dont really need a carb, I was just wondering why nobody uses them .A carb actually makes it so u need to care about nothing but the carb, obviously im not gonna leave the evo in there like a bowl, but for 2 draws should be fine right?

A nice big bubbler so the evo is vertical and supported not inserted on an angle is the only way to go for me. Something Like the do20-d but bigger. Mobius type of design.

IMO this is less prone to breakage compared to a HT, Stable. Others will disagree but I always feel like I might snap the bamboo using a ht. I use a bubbler 80% time ht 20%. Never had anything bad happen from inverting it. (or in a ht I might add) Just feels safer for me personally.

And don't forget no carb means when you clear you pull the remaining vapor through the water instead of just clearing the chamber dry. Carb "shotties" where what I used like 10 years ago, no where near as nice. Once I changed I never looked back. Just something to think about.

Herb gardener...
I mean if you leave your back-up EVO packed up and don't use it before your main unit breaks (I hope my EVO stays alive for some years?) your warranty for the fresh back-up EVO will be expired by then.

Yeah I didn't really consider this, But I don't really care, I have my spare evo and that's my personal warranty....

The way I see it, I save so much money on not buying herbs, that I wouldn't really mind if I had to buy an evo every year...

I would pay twice that for this vape, it's that good.
I was actually looking at the whole package "the end". It comes with many extras and is listed for $585 but with $100 off coupon and shipping it comes out to $500. I originally paid $385 for mine less than a month ago. I'm not sure if I want to pass this to my friend and buy this version. Are all the extras worth it or should I wait for another 20% off

Hello all,

I've owned my EVO for almost one year now and I am very happy with it. I recently got into oils with it using the glass nails. I just purchased the factory seconds quartz nails and am eager to try them on Tuesday when they get delivered.

I have a questions with regards to the HydraTube. I originally purchased one from DHGate and have purchased a newer version from them again last week. This is what I recently purchased: http://www.dhgate.com/product/new-design-vapexhale-hydratube-sidecar-perc/386035662.html
I am wondering if anyone has experience with the newer mini hyrdatubes and what your opinion of them are. I am starting to regret my recent DHGate purchase and am wondering if i should have just got an OEM mini hydratube.... Any thoughts?

Their sales come and go very often so I wouldn't be too discouraged. I might be wrong but I recall they had a V-day sale and first spring sales , etc.

Oh but if you're really desperate you can use codes like STAYUP to get 10% off between sales.

@Stormsend could also use @stickstones link to get 10% off too. It never hurts to have someone like Sticks in your vape corner. Here's the info....

I'm trying to get it for under $400. I think it might be best to wait for a 20% or higher sale. I emailed a rep to see if they would match it bc it's only a week out of the holidaze sale. If so, cool awesome customer service, if not no problem waiting.

Anyone else have this in stock besides vapexhale?

Just ordered the new incycler on the vapexhale website. Ended up coming to $299 plus $25 shipping after using the FRESH code. I haven't really seen any first hand accounts of this thing so I'll post my opinions on it once I receive it. If anyone else currently has one I would be excited to hear their opinions on it.

Herb gardener...
Had a terrible day wit the evo last night....

First off, I spent the day making some concentrate from all my og kush harvest trim...
This went well, I got some very nice looking product....
But the proof is in the pudding....
So I got my last nail out... an proceeded to torch it clean....
I had it gripped in my @DDave hot glass holder while I heated it...

It must have caused a small crack, because as I was loading my gooey goodness, the top cracked off... crap.....
Now I can't even try my concentrate....

So I thought fuck it, and the residue I couldn't salvage, I swabbed some herbs with it and loaded an elb...
Had one good go on it.... but when I came to my second go, bam.... combustion..... fuck....

So I now lost a new elb as well to carbon, I don't use them after combustion...

Then I had to go and clean my ht and bamboo...

Why does this always happen late at night when I can't be arsed to start cleaning shit....???

Anyway, ordered 5 new glass nails....

Hopefully today goes better....

I find the nails to be the least good part of the EVO, so have ordered a quartz banger to keep my dabbing separate.

I only have access to Rosin (I might qwiso my avb though) so have only tried this along with the one nail that came in the Evo box.

The hits were okay, but cleaning the nail is just a pain and some days I just don't want to clean up until another day. Full temp burn in the Evo, ISO wash and then torching it to hell and back are the only way that worked for me.

As @kellya86 mentioned, the nails could really do with something to stop the concentrate from rising up the glass. I also find the hole where you are supposed to place the concentrate in through seems like it's just gonna let the concentrate escape and get onto the bamboo.

I'm not disappointed though, it does work after all, but it's just not for me

Do you guys who have dab rigs prefer the Evo... and if so, why?

A small amount of warm water and some PBW ( powdered brewery wash ) will get those nails sparkly again in no time. This is how i clean mine and they are spotless every time. I do have a Enail also & i prefer the Evo's low temp and taste over it any day. I rarely use my enail bc of this but when it comes to groups i find the enail allot better as it is less fragile and just all around easier.

Well for one they heat up MUCH faster. I'm wondering though if their glass nails are a newer design from the ones I got last year because my quartz nails are so wide that they barely miss the walls of the bamboo. My glass wouldn't even get close and clink around in there if you moved it the slightest.

The heat up time from putting the nail to full melt went from 10 seconds to 3-4. The hit is much more full throughout and doesn't seem to burn as fast as the glass would which would make it taste bad or feel harsh for me (the main reason I hated dabbing with the evo).

Of course being able to clean them is night a day difference. I would leave my evo at max temp for a full hour and sometimes the glass would STILL be dirty. I don't know if it's because the glass is less efficient in the evo leaving more to burn off or if it doesn't get as much even heat as the quartz so it doesn't do clean burn offs. Anyway I thought I would have to use my torch a lot but I haven't really had to so that's a nice surprise.

An iso bath and steel wool and/or ultrasonic cleaning and they will be back to 100% sparkling and bad-taste free.

I use the first method after my bamboo cracked and didn't realize the problem for a couple of days and all my ELB's allow full flavor again.

Otherwise, mail them my way! I'll pay for the stamps!

Ah crap, it's in the bin now... I'll buy more...
If I ruin anymore in the near future, I'll send them your way...

The best way to avoid oil climbing up the sides of the nails is to draw slowly and to load small amounts that can be cleared in one pull. This will keep the hits tasting great too.

Iv played about with various amounts in the nail...
I don't use concentrate very often, once or twice a week maybe....

Iv concluded that on the occasions when I decide to dab, I want a never ending whitewalled hydratube that leaves me feeling like I'm trying to take a breath in the vacume of deep space....

I want to be able to be incapacitated for 5 mins after exhale due to the sheer amount of cannabinoids I just inhaled... Then happily high for the rest of the night....

I don't mind that I waste a bit, and can never clear the nail... in my mind, an unsatisfying half a hit is more of a waste, as it doesn't achieve punch in the face I'm looking for.....

It's interesting that there's so much discussion about the quartz nails lately. Is the majority (of people who like using nails to dab) opinion that the quartz nails are WAYYYYY better than the borosilicate nails?

Also, I second iso for the ELBs and PBW for the nails. I have a little hinged, sealed jar that I have a bunch of ISO in and I just let the ELBs sit in it for awhile, then I shake it up, and then I rinse em off. It makes a HUGE difference. If you can't easily see through your ELBs in profile, they're dirty! The PBW bath is great, especially for my Symbiartic hydratube which, for some reason, gets a lot of little resin floaties forming up in it. The HTs are nearly impossible to get all the way clean without PBW.

Cleaning both of the parts that your meds sit in makes such a huge difference in performance and it's so easy.

I guess I will go buy some quartz nails now.

Actually, I have found that PBW (which I generally love as a product) isn't all that good for concentrate residue. I had a nail with a hard ring of carbon/crap on it and the PBW didn't touch it. ISO with good pipe cleaners and a little elbow grease restored it to new.

As some of you may remember, my 6 week old EVO base unit died mid-session (sort of redefines coitus interuptus). So, I sent it back to VXL for warranty repair. Upon repair, I asked them what failed so I would know if I had the same failure mode in the future with this repaired unit. VXL's original description of the required repair was:

This is your repaired unit. The entire internal guts were replaced.
Virtually a new unit :)
It appears there was an issue with the electronics inside
Let us know if you have any issues! — VapeXhale CS

I questioned exactly what this meant and they replied with:

My repair team has informed me that :
There was a metal piece that clamps onto the electrical wires replaced. — VapeXhale CS

I read this to be a shitty little primary power wire crimp on lug or similar. Just a very small mechanical assembly failure which makes me feel much better about the future of my EVO. Thought you folks might like to know this because it seems these things never really fail. They get dropped and broken a good bit (yeah, my friend @ataxian !) LOL, but they don't seem to fail electronically very often.

Cheers

I personally cannot tell much of a difference between the quartz and boro , i saw another member post a big difference between them and a heat up time difference. I find with both my quartz and boro nails that they start producing vapor and are ready to hit in about 4-6 seconds. It may be that all glass is not created equal and some members are getting thicker or thinner nails. I tried a few from this company - https://cloudytubes.ca/ , they were cheaper and i found the glass was a bit thicker than vapexhales. I tend to go with quartz more so than the boro though just for the fact that it is a better quality glass that may give a slight better taste. I agree on the pbw though , it has been the only way i can get my Ht's perfectly clean or any of my glass , ill usually fill my glass if its small enough with some pbw and warm water and pop it in the microwave for a few seconds until i see the water starting to bubble and its spotless after , i do the same with my nails.

@Baron23 just saw your post , i dunno man , the pbw always works for my nails , maybe bc i am heating them up with the pbw in warm water in the microwave. Works every time for me , maybe give that a try but be careful as they get hot quick...
