Thanks for clearing that up!! I'm sure it'll be very helpful to your campaign!

I'm social media / customer relations manager for a startup and we have contests of people taking pictures of our brand logo around the world in known or exotic places and we share them to show how much we are spreading. Maybe you could do something similar too. Photo contests of the milaana in exotic locations shared to everyone's IG and once a month pick a winner for a store credit gift card, in addition to your campaign. just a suggestion! :) :)

Thanks for the help! An On Location contest will get the potatos off the couches. Contest or in the works... couple ideas bouncing around are Pimp Your Mi contest to promote and celebrate Mods, Bad Ass Glass to get the artisan hand blown glass going as well as a revival of the 500 followers contest. Thoughts folks?

Ryan I'm so happy to promote the Mi as its the hands down best vape I have used. I know I've sold a couple from reddit and vapelife but it's because I want people to experience this and not because I want x off a product. I dont use Instgran (:D) or facebook or any of that shit, and I don't want anything for telling people how good the vape is.

Just a question about versions. One of mine came with material to put in the air hole and the second one I bought has a mesh screen over the air hole. Does that indicate any versions? I think the one Ryan sent me that he sanded down, which is my favorite, is a bit hotter.

As for promoting- none of my friends vape or plan to. When it's time I'd like to participate however I can given that. Add reviews to utube or other sites? I don't use instagram.

I packed loose, preheated 5 seconds twice, then i pressed again and drew slow, felt the heat, i drew fast, total maybe 12-14 seconds, i feel the herbs and taste it hitting my throat and lungs but when i exhale.... No vapor, literally none, hit it couple more times, taste it but no vapor, i took the stem out and checked... I packed it light to the tip, slight tamp, but now all the herbs are sucked up towards the screen and is tighter now, i have extra 1/3 to 1/2 room in the stem because all the herbs got suck up and tight

I use the toothpick to loosen it, dump it in my palm then i roll it all back in and hit it few more times, same thing, no vapor, i can understand no vapor first hit but second an on should be bigger and bigger

What am i doing wrong ?
A. Need to use fine grind ?
B. Draw even longer ? If any longer than 12 seconds i might need to use water piece

I am high now, after 4-5 draws the material is somewhat green and light brown.....

High but without the satisfying exhale..

Does the unit get hot at all? How deep is the screen? Also is it basket style? I get the best results using it that way. Maybe try preheating a little longer. Also, what batteries are you using and are they fully charged?

You mentioned that the herbs are still greenish to light brown. That sounds to me more low temp usage, which is generally less clouds anyway, however, have you tried not drawing fast at the end?

I rarely increase my draw speed. Instead, as soon as i feel the heat of the vapor, I release the button and continue drawing slowly for the next 5 seconds or so.

Maybe the fast draw at the end is cooling the heater and diluting the hit resulting in no clouds?

No draw restriction can easily result in drawing too fast without realising.

Sloooow, steady, constant draw speed works best for me. I have slowed my draw down significantly over the last few months even though i was already getting results the old way. I get better results now.

Normal for herbs to get packed like that after hitting, why I don't tamp, it does it naturally. Definitely try a medium fine grind, get better results than with course, but should still see clouds. Also by preheat, we mean hold for a few seconds then start inhaling, then let go after several to clear. You can also modulate the trigger, but no need to press it for 5 sec intervals without hitting like you mentioned

Unit is warm at best, battey is very warm, my basket is inverted, maybe thats why ?

Samsung 30q, fully charged two days ago, yesterdays attempt was at 4.00v starting

Okay i guess i will try that

Okay i will try this too, preheat and straight into slow draw

Do u guys have the battery positive side facing down or facing up making contact with lid?

You can have the battery in either way. Negative of flat side up is the best way as the copper has a bigger target and it is flat. However, if trouble shooting flat side down will ensure the spring contact in the unit will contact. In rare cases the wrapper on the positive end can insulate the spring contact from the battery. With positive side up you can visually see that the bump on the copper is touching the copper. Again, this is seldom the cause of low temperature issues. Please check this Tube video for detail on how high contact resistance can make the unit run cool or intermittent.

I don't think the battery should get warm, at least my LGs and Sonys never do.

Battery very warm is not good at all, at least not when it's not after a 20 minutes session. Do you have access to electronics test equipment? Or someone in your surroundings?

I don't want to sound alarmist, but something's not right I think.
I dont have access to it, it is a one year old samsung 30Q, still holds its charge pretty well

I mean if it can be used both ways, what is the preferred? Negative side up touching copper ? I can try that today, ive been using positive side up and my battery was very warm when i finished, also had almost no vapor production but i got high lol

Also will try finer grind today, i used the storz and bickel grinder and i got a really fine grind

I would pick up some new batteries, not worth the risk. None of my batteries have ever gotten warm at all even during a long session.

Sounds like you have a bad connection. Watch the video and sand/scuff the copper and brass thumb screw contact surfaces. If the battery takes and holds a charge at 4.1x it should rock. Battery can get a little warm due to the long discharge time at reduced voltage created by the high contact resistance. I just had the same problem with my daily driver yesterday lol. Shout out to all you RBT tech freeks for helping out my customers with issues. It's quiet the knowledge base that's developing here :)

Are new units shipping with the clear coat on the copper sanded? Or will that be an "at-user-discretion" type thing.

Also agree that the video was extremely helpful that you showed how and why there was resistance

So i jus sand the bottom part of the copper piece and im good to go ? What grit should i use ? Or should i use a copper cleaner (salt/vinegar, lemon juice/baking soda) ?
What about the other pieces next the the mesh that holds the copper piece ? Clean that too ? How lol

@muunch new units will either have no clear cost or the area under the brass thumb screw will be masked. Design changes are being considered to improve this short coming. There are several viable options that can be an easy running change.

@stinkytofus the surfaces on the brass thumb screw and copper are the ones that need to have good contact. You can use steel wool, medium sandpaper or use a razor blade to carefully scrape the surfaces until they are not dull in color.

Let us know how things go.

Not sure if I missed you getting a reply as I'm Mi baked again. Sounds like you have an OG and a V1
Edit:- saying that you could have an OG and a V2

OG non recessed glass, no air intake cover
V1 Hottest unit, recessed glass, first air cover
V2 Not as hot as V1, better finish than OG and V1(?)

Yeh, OG had the filter mesh in the inlet hole and non-recessed glass. V1 is recessed glass, inlet screen, and about 10% hotter. V2 has a shit ton of improvement in a post a while back which address issues found through FC feedback. However, V1 and V2 heater are tuned the same. I Believe that folks have mistaken the natural 8% variation in the heater output as a "change". These heaters are delicate and fussy due to the sub-ohm range so each Mi has her only little signature. @little maggie has a "Maximum Sand" V2 Cherry that was one of the initial build to ensure all changes where tested through to build prior to making this last lot of dream boats.

Shout out to all you good beeps taking advantage of the 15% off this weekend. It seems to be a pretty well kept secret so there shouldn't be any problem getting folks orders out by next week. What a great feeling putting the professionally printed manuals in these things.... Finally..... V2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
