New owner of a PAX3 here. Had a few days to test it out. So far so good! Have a question for @Ojan_at_PAX. I have seen stainless steel cleaning rods for the PAX vapes. Any issues with using something like that instead of the regular pipe cleaners? Supposed to do a better job of cleaning the tube.

Today's the 6th business day Pax has had my Pax 3, after an email saying I'd have an update in 3-5 business days.

No communication yet (other than a very polite reply ("no update for you") to my inquiry about where we are in the process).

Hopefully they don't have a long line of these on techs' benches.

Unless something has changed they don't repair these...they simply test for defect and send a new unit. They used to be assembled in China.

That would make sense.

It makes it even more odd there's a delay . . .

Unless they can't recreate my Pax's failure issue.

Today is Day 10 that Pax has had my unit. (8th business day.) Still no communication from them other than the note they have it and can't provide an update.

I am not really certain what's going on at this point.

I hope they are shipping out a new unit and just failing to notify me - like they shipped my original order.

But I do fear I am in neverending return process.

You may want to pm @Ojan_at_PAX. I'm sure he'll help you...he's the best!

When I sent in my Pax2 for sticky button issues a couple months back, I had the same issue regarding communication. They originally responded quickly, but only to ask me to re-describe the problem which was already fully detailed in my original email request.
Once they had the device, it took 9 days to get a response, at which time Ojan stepped in and got things rolling quickly and I received a new factory unit. It took 30 days to receive a new unit.
Don't worry, they will absolutely get you taken care of, but I would recommend PM'ing Ojan as he will definitely fix you up, he is fantastic!
If you have any other issues, PM me, I have an unpublished phone number for a satellite Pax office in Texas who helped me out a lot also.

Don't want to bother Ojan. But thanks for the advice!

He's been very helpful.

But he has enough on his plate beyond dealing with another squeaky wheel.

Message me any time! Especially for something like this. We're working hard to catch up and it looks like our techs are working through early January arrivals now. Can you PM me your case number? I'll ask them for an update.

PM sent. But please feel free to ignore it. I take your word that your techs are working on early January arrivals (mine was 1/3).

As I sent in the PM, I'll reach out middle of next week if I still haven't heard anything.

And Thanks!

A huge thank you to @Ojan_at_PAX.

He assisted me in getting my RMA'd device in front of a tech today.

They confirmed my Pax's failure to turn on and are sending a new Pax out via USPS.

Sucks to have to do that for a brand new device, but kudos to Pax for standing behind the product.

Thanks again, @Ojan_at_PAX !

My pleasure dude. Your patience is commendable!

Wellll I received my Pax3 today but haven't used it yet. :(. I've always ordered from Vapeworld but my warranty info isn't being accepted. Are they no longer an authorized retailer?

My serial number seems bigger than others I've seen in pictures so if it's a fake I'm going to be so so livid. Contacted Pax and Vapeworld. The device seems totally legitimate and connects to the app and was properly updated...but the warranty page won't accept my information and the serial number seems off. :-/ so upset right now. I just trusted that the company I've ordered from for 3+ years was still authorized.

I suggest you pm @Ojan_at_PAX . I'm sure he'll help you sort it out!

And welcome to FC!

Oh I did. I'm just frustrated. Hard to get a new gadget and not take it for a test drive.

Vapeworld is a supporting retailer here and prominently advertises the pax3 on its website (but I'm sure you know all that). I just tried to find Vapeworld listed as an authorized retailer on the pax website without success. But my confidence is high that your pax3 is authentic. But boy do I understand your caution and frustration. I'm sure you'll hear from Ojan soon.

You're showing tremendous restraint not playing with your new toy!

Haha you have no idea. :D Yeah I'm hopeful but also freaked out. The serial number font is sooooo big compared to most pics I've seen.:uhoh:

Okay... I peaked and saw this isn't your first vape. At least you have other toys to play with... (I'm looking for a silver lining here).

And I think you REALLY need a grasshopper in your lineup (it's getting a price increase 2/1), and maybe a vapcap too!

Are a Grasshopper units caught up on shipping? I've hesitated only because of the yuuuuuuge delay. Vapcap? Haven't heard of this one... do tell! Also considering the Haze V3.0.

Anyways on to Pax 3-- is there anywhere to explain the games and how they function? I never unlocked them in my Pax2.

Thanks again, Me2 :) Just replied via PM but wanted to share an update here.

Our team is addressing an issue with product registration right now. I can register a device on anyone's behalf too. I'd just need the same info that's requested on the registration page, along with the PAX account's email address.

VapeWorld has always been authorized so no worries there. We took user feedback into consideration for 3 (as always!) and changed the serial number to improve readability. Your serial number doesn't raise any red flags on my end, so take it for a spin and share your thoughts!

OK so I composed myself first, but I wanted to give my impressions. A tiny bit of background: I owned Pax and Pax 2. I really enjoyed Pax, and even made sure to keep the mouthpiece lubricated so it didn't stick. It worked well for me, but I was looking forward to Pax 2. Pax 2 still got more love than my firefly 2 mainly because of the inconsistent results I got with firefly. When it worked well, it worked REALLY well, and the flavor of convection is WONDERFUL.* (*when it works)

THIS THING IS AWESOME!! Thanks Paxlabs!

Pax 3 Impressions and Comparison

I ordered the Pax 3 in black. Packaging as usual is top notch and feels like an Apple product. The accesories look nice, and I appreciate that they include 3 extra screens and the multi-tool. Honestly, I grabbed the charger and the Pax 3 and left the rest in the box for now.

Hardware
Charged it up, noticing that the charging dock is a bit more magnetized this time than the Pax 2, but my old Pax 2 charging dock 'cradle' I bought aftermarket will work with this one too. The finish is shiny. Like REALLY shiny. The first time I had it in my pocket with the charging cable, I got a tiny scratch on it. I sorta wish I could put my red Pax 2 casing on my Pax 3 guts. :D Looks awesome, just worried about durability. Looks and feels just like Pax 2 size and dimension wise.

App
The app works nicely. My unit was updated before I could even connect to it the first time. I like the color themes... I went with Mars since it's got a cool blink between red and green around the LED petals. I like the fine tuning available, and I haven't really messed with the games or other features of the app yet. Compared to Firefly's app, this one is more visually appealing, intuitive and connects much more quickly and reliably.

Usage

The heat-up time is truly 15 seconds. It's a nice upgrade over the Pax 2. I am someone who leaves my Pax on the lower end of the temperature spectrum (370-374), and I chose the "Flavor" profile to enhance cool down and maintain maximum flavor. The haptic feedback was useful as well; maybe because of my setting (Flavor), but I noticed lots of haptic feedback, I guess every time it heats back up you get the buzz (LOL).

If you know how to pack a Pax or Pax 2, you know how to pack this one. Tight pack, fine grind. Flavor is a bit improved, but it's still a conduction vape. Again, a nice and noticeable upgrade. I noticed that the flavor stayed much more consistent throughout the session and didn't drop off the way it would after a bit with the Pax 2. Draws are much easier with less back pressure and resistance than the Pax 2. Whatever they changed about how the screen sits in the bottom definitely worked.

Overall, does it feel like the Pax 2? Yes... but with noticable upgrades that keep Pax quite comparable and competitive with the "smart vapes" that are coming out these days. This one will be my main vape, and I don't regret the upgrade.
