NJ Legalizes Marijuana for medical use!

I want to see this implemented before I pass any real judgment but I think its a large fail for many but great for some.

First, they left out many illnesses that no other state has left out and put in only the most severe. This tends to indicate that it is not about medical needs and about politics and as such I feel medical weed will not likely do well under this view.

Second, no growing, (I think California screwed up NJ on this one.) Since it is not known at this time what the make up and selection of the distribution places will be it is hard to tell if the selection of product will be of effective variety to better meet these peoples needs. What I am concerned about is that they will supply inferior product and do a study that will show the patients do not truly benefit any more over traditional prescribed meds and probably will lean towards prescriptions more.

Cost, I am concerned that people who are deftly ill will not be in a financial situation to be able to even purchase medical quality weed since no insurance will step up. Not being able to grow may simply put herb out of reach for those who do not have the extra money. Many ill people do not have much money left over after their other expenses.

I simply do not trust New Jersey with this bill but time will tell and I hope politicians will see it is a good thing and open it up to more and more illnesses.

For PA,
Does not look like they will let it go to a vote, as I was told by someone from PA recently even though they have support for it to go forwards they will not let it be voted on by those who control that.

Delaware is to decide soon too I think. Not sure of others.

thanks for the insight as i do not have much knowledge on legalization matters. i do know that my friend lives in Colorado and it was fairly easy for him to acquire a license and a volcano by prescription.

its offical the gov signed it :)
i did some digging and
it will be 6 months before its in place and implimented
they said it would go for for 100 to 150 a oz
2 oz a month
6 places of distribution that are non profit
2 in the north
2 in the central
2 in the south
after a year more places of distribution that are for profit
can open
the distribution centers will be where its grown
high level of security for centers
highly regulated where it can be used
if caught selling it your facing 5 years jail

i will shit myself if it comes true
i do have a doctors appointment in may :ninja:

I really dislike the way they did it. The pricing will put many of those in need out of reach. If they let people grow it could close that gap. I see this as alot of hype with their hand in the piggy jar offering little real help.

Medical patients tend to use more than the recreational users. I am just worried about the average cost of a patient would exceed what they can spend as many of the people are on some type of fixed income or have spending limitations that would limit to out right eliminate this option due purely to financial limitations.

I also am interested to see what they do when someone comes into New Jersey from another state with broader laws than NJ regarding Medical use and possibly lead to some interesting law suits.

I also feel this law is far to restrictive when it comes to applicable medical conditions. It vastly leaves out many conditions which are covered in other states. Hopefully in time this can be expanded upon.

he said $100 to $150 an ounce. That's cheap. I pay $100 for an ounce of regs here, but $400 for crippy.

I was thinking the same thing. It must be middle of the road mids at that price (but then again they *might* surprise us)

I think that having your card would find you more leniency *IF* someone decided to take up a small grow (personal that is)
But like was said before, time will tell...
