Any glass with a carb will be lower quality. always

making a carb hole weakens the glass, and just isnt functional. you dont wamt the weight of the pd on the joint for extended periods of time though, its got good weight on it.

A high quality piece that functions better without a carb would be nice for this purpose. i have a bunch of videos and pictures of PD and RZ vaporbonging, let me dig out some of them...

I'm a total glass noob and I'm thinking of getting the RX Industries 12" Straight Tube to go along with the HI I'm getting. Think that will be a good combo?

added: I already received an answer from SD_Haze, but a couple of quick questions to go with my original:

The vapor bong video posted by ilovebOObs showed him using a bubbler that seems to have more volume than the RX 12", but he still whitewalled it really fast. Will the smaller volume of the RX 12" limit the size of each hit I get? Or will the vapor just be that much denser?

Will the RX 12" fit a 14.4 GonG connection, as is standard with the HI, without any modification?

What type of hit can I expect from the RX 12"? Smooth and fizzy or gluggy and chuggy?

Again, I'm a total glass noob, so that first question might not even make sense, but I appreciate the help regardless. SD_Haze, perhaps I could convince you to post a video of the RX 12" being used with a log vape similar to the HI, such as your UD Twig?

I saw the video and the rx tube is definitely overall not that much different volume. If anything smaller would be better for more flavor.

yes its 14mm with the downstem in, but the downstems it usually comes with is a 18-->14 reducers, so you cant fit a normal (short) 14mm downstem in there.

Its a hand-punched hole diffuser so its not gluggy, but not super fizzy. Just right IMO, smooth.

And luckily I already made a vid with a log vape & rx tube.
(I made this like the day I got the rockzap so I hadn't had the grind/hit technique quite down)

@ okcomputer. The main thing really is to keep it a low water volume piece. IME the more water you use the more the flavour is diminished. That RX 12" with diff. looks like a good functional and solid piece. It's a good price too.

The thing you have to be wary of is collecting glass. If you found that you are a reluctant vape collector, you'll probably end up as a glass collector too!

JRRT, I appreciate the advice as well, makes sense about water volume. As far as collecting goes, I think I'm out of the danger zone as I'm married now and we're trying to be as frugal as possible in order to save money to buy a house. Of course, we're both recently-converted vaporists (thanks to the PD) and we need to have at least some kind of set-up, and combining a HI with a high-quality, reasonably priced water pipe seems to be one of the best bang-for-your-buck rigs for vaping at the moment. I love the PD, but I'm very curious about the reportedly improved airflow and higher temps of the HI. But I don't see myself owning more than one vape at a time (but I wouldn't rule out a Cloud 2.0 five years down the road or something, haha).

edit: I guess that means I spilled the beans that my PD will be hitting the classifieds soon, so long as I enjoy the HI.

I bought the RX 12" glass and will comment on the use with 14.4 GonG connection.

As another member mentioned it won't fit normal short pieces. The picture on the right is the glass with the adapter. So I bought an adapter to make it work which you see in the 2 pictures on the left. If you buy that glass you will need to buy the adapter to use with the pieces you get with your HI most likely.

Bad pics... SSFG 8-12" Travel Tube (Probably ask them to get as close to 12" as possible), SSFG Small inline... plus the showerhead downstem upgrade.

Can't say enough about Allison and Ray. I may be wrong here, but when a site lists a piece of 8" - 10", you usually get something in-between. Sure, you can make a request, but depending on stock... that's not what you'll get.

So after my 1st phone call with Allison, I decided on a travel beaker (10" request), showerhead downstem and a 14mm male 18mm female mini inline ac/perc. $149 shipped. This isn't a high dollar order, but I feel like I'm being treated like a king. Since I ordered, he made the perc for my piece, the showerstem for my piece and today, Ray can't find a 10"... so he made me a 10" beaker. All brand new, custom glass IMO. This should be sweeeeeet!
