I do like the Volcano very much in certain circumstances. They are indeed different and it should come as no surprise that the EVO gets a lot of love in the EVO forum. But, while I think we can have preferences in vapes depending on our personal use case, I can't support dissing the Volcano. Its a well crafted and well performing machine.

The Volcano has been a good choice for medical patients for years. Stable platform. Almost an appliance, like the EQ. Also a good choice if you want to fill a bag to pass around.

I can always go back to black/naked and wristbands. The heat shield does makes it easier to grip and might add some insulation. Do not want any slippage when I turn it upside down and put it in something tall with a long cord attached to it. In fact I added a few silicone wristbands with indented lettering in their design for even more grip.

I'm think it's more like hand grime and heat stress than ABV. Oh wait my hands are covered in ABV half the time.:haw:

Yea, black hides dirt. True. However I am trying to reverse the amount of black in my place and with most of the appliances and things. It is more of a challenge since most things sold are by default, black.
I'll get to know the fabric more. Have two other shields to experiment with. :science:Plus the wide wristband could be used with the black so it stands out more. :peace:

I have both an Evo and Volcano. I consider them to be top in class vaporizers, but not necessarily competitors. Evo is king for massive rips, while the Volcano is great for group sessions and also a simple tool for a patient who desires simplicity and reliability.

Having said that, this thread really isn't the place to have this discussion. This type of vape comparison should be kept in Ask FC.

O.K. I took off the EVO's skirt and found those velcro straps and decided it was time to clean the heat shield. Took some gentle laundry soap and rubbed it into the fabric until the soap is pushed itself through the fabric. Since I have an old fashioned glass washboard, rubbing the soap into the foam material took seconds. Pretty much got the results I guessed I would be getting. Most of the grime is gone. But there is a small amount of fraying where the foam and the outer material meet. Burnt it off with a lighter and it is almost as good as new. I supposed I could have done a little more to get it just a little better.

Now to use the velcro strap full time. Which kind of protects the glass part of the bamboo on the bottom of the vape. Have the EVO warming up and drying it's shield in the process. Once it is dry, then I put all of my wristbands and clutter back on. :haw:

Do you all clean your xnails after each use? I'm getting a lot of build up at the bottom of my nail and am afraid I am burning all the old stuff along with my new rosin in the nail during my hit. Thoughts?

No prob after about 10 uses or more I clean them . After my hit though I turn heater to high and let the residue burn off for a minute , than cool and reload , never got a bad taste . Having multiple nails of course helps keep them clean . Some pbw diluted in some water in a zip lock bag with 30 seconds in the microwave usually gets them brand new again for me .

I'm pretty new to the EVO, I have been using the nails just one hit, then into IPA bath, and clean with a cotton swab. Easy to clean, and the flavor is off the charts.

Not for me, mate. UPS, with Signature Req, makes me drive 35 city miles to get a package held at their main local distro facility. FedEx let's me have the package held at any of a number of local FedEx/Kinko stores.

I suppose this is just different for each locale.

It's not so much them being problematic as much as it is their website and delivery system obviously run on a delay compared to UPS. If I make a change on UPS it doesn't add a day to the delivery process, bit with Fedex it does.

I can hold either at locations nearest UPS store is 10 minutes fedEx is a 35 minute trip. Despite longer trip Fed Ex seems to treat them better so I use that. Plus gives me an excuse to get food by that FedEx lol. Both are not as good as USPS fme and prefer that to either.

But I came here to say:

EVO + GSC = CIVILIZED Sunday morning!

Had some really nice, soft, creamy, red seal hash in the evo last night...

Tasted of nostalgia.....

Took me back to the days when I could only get hash.... And awful quality at that....

I'm glad that hash in the UK has been forced to be good now...
To compete it has to be really...

No one would buy soap bar now....

i burn mine after each use. let it sit in the unit for a while. the white stuff at the bottom comes clean with couple of drops of apple cider vinegar.

Arizer Solo mate. Took me a minute. I had to read your post twice. I knew that was what you were curious about. For some reason I read your post as a poem :lol:

Also, not sure if anyone would be happy to learn you can still get your OctaEd Hydrafoot from Vapfiend over in the UK. Also of note, the OEM home site now lists the chandelier as sold out also.

I ordered mine with Ot money while on business, didn't realize they ship out of Pa. Think it took a day, but no one was home to sign. Then had FedEx hold 4 days for me to pick up coming in town.....what a week but boy was it awesome indulging once I had the chance and I sped home knowing it was waiting :lol: made it all th sweeter

I used my EVO so much the other day before bed that my eyes felt like glue in the morning :lol:

I hope this remedy works , on that white chalky film
that I get on my quartz bangers . So far , I've been scrubbing
out my banger bowls with iso+salt and pieces of steel wool .
