Fan update:

After opening up my EQ, I noticed the air flow of the fan was blocked by the heating element's glass shield. It appears I inadvertently twisted that piece which has a "spout" for a lack of a better word which directs the fans airflow up the heating element. After realigning that piece everything worked great.

So what if I dont really care about reclaiming anything? What if I just want to clean stuff? Can I just soak the pieces in water and it dissolves? You are looking at 100% complete rookie here.

How do I clean the screens and what is ISO and what do I do? Soak them in this stuff for like 12-24hrs and then how long do I wait before they are dry? Do I just leave them out for 12-24hrs and they will dry fine? Sorry for the newbness questions. Like I said, Im not really interested in reclaiming anything, just keep it clean.

Still love the machine, just looking to keep it running really well and smooth.

Replace stock tubing with silicone tubing from US Plastics or 7th Floor. I swish my dome screens in everclear and burn everything off (holding screen with hemostats). The cyclone screen normally does not need cleaning.

Iso=isopropyl alchohol (rubbing alchohol) try to get the highest purity one on the shelf (usually around 92% alchohol) and make sure the only other ingredient is water, water by itself will not cut through the resin......alchohol dries super fast but for good measure run the vape a bit to burn off any excess

I have about 10 elbow screens in rotation. I change it every few grams, put the dirty one in an old wine glass until they all are dirty. then I cover them with iso and stir for a few mins. rinse with hot water. iso again. then rinse again. all clean

Persona Non Grata,
I have been experimenting with my Q and tried the elbow packing technique (where you pack the mesh cup that fits in the glass piece the whip attaches to.) It works great! It gets you to where you want faster too. I definitely recommend it. Does anyone have any materials or something they use to cover the bags? I feel like the company should sell little rubber stoppers that cover them or something. I know they are all about glass but honestly I wouldn't mind some plastic if it meant i could cover up the balloon.

Why plug the balloon? You're supposed to vape it! lol Seriously, why bother letting it condense on the bag? Regardess, little plugs exist somewhere because I have one that I found around the house somewhere. It looks like the top part of a pen, that insert sort of cap on a bic... except it's a rubber type material and fits like a glove. Try a hardware store maybe?

I have also heard people use ear plugs! :)

It will not dissolve in water. But you can use hot water (from a kettle) to unstick it and get out. I think asolutely solution for you (fast - much faster than dissolving in iso, no chemistry, but no reclaiming).

No hot water actually flowing through, I want to reclaim this.

EDIT: So I've collected it. Got a little more, than before second time. I've just tested a half rice seed sized product in my MFLB (mixed with some THCless weed). So vaked (The taste is not very good). So I recommend collecting it instead.

I have been using Arizer products for a couple of years now. I started with an extreme V Tower and have now moved on to an EQ
I really love this vape and am totally baffled when I read about pre heating times etc being a problem. Mine is ready for use in under 3 minutes. I can kick out thick clouds immediately after a quick heat. I have never had a problem with this Vape and found the customer service to be quick and efficient.
The EQ hooked to a bubbler is a great choice if you like big milky hits!

The heater does reach temperature quickly. The recommendations for longer heat-up times are to allow the glass to heat up as well. The benefits of this aren't so great that you shouldn't start using it when the heater reaches temperature. You can try it both ways and see which you like better. It's all about what works for you.

I set mine to 430 or so and run the fan for around 5 minutes and all the glass is piping hot and ready to go then i dial it down to desired temp, this produces much thicker vapor than just setting it to my usual temp (380 for elbow hits) and ripping it when the screen says its ready

I wait until the cyclone bowl is hot to the touch, then it is ready. takes like a minute for the screen to read the correct temp. but 5 for the glass to be hot and give good hits

You might try Glad Press'N'Seal. It has a sticky surface that's safe (it's used for home food packaging). Just cut a small square or tear off a strip, it wraps the bag mouthpiece easily and is easy to repeatedly take off and put back on. One box will last forever.

FWIW, I use the bag with a bubbler. I just remove the elbow screen after filling the bag and put the Q's elbow into the bubbler's GonG joint. The water chamber stops any vapor from escaping. Enables nice, long, leisurely sipping.

And btw, there's a video ref'd on this thread in which the user recommends using the Q's glass stir stick as a stopper. It's true that it fits perfectly in the bag mouthpiece. But I tried this - gently - and still broke the mouthpiece. IMO not a good idea.

Hey so I might be wrong but the whip can attach to 14mm and 18mm right? Does anyone know if it attaches to 29mm effectivly? Is 18 the preffered way to go?

Are you using 18m?

The stock glass elbow is a male 18 joint. When using the bag, I remove the elbow from the cyclone bowl, pull out the elbow screen, and insert the elbow into the bubbler GonG female. When using the whip, I use a second glass elbow instead of the stock mouthpiece, again just inserted into the bubbler female joint.

You can use a 14mm adapter with the whip, the type that has a tapered end that inserts into the tubing. Or you can use a 14male/18female adapter on the bubbler into which the stock elbow can be inserted. I've never tried a 29mm adapter.

I've made a cheap water filtration. Supports direct connection with a bag or whip. Only one PET needed.
Needer some tubing, so I've cut it from the whip. Well, it's still long.

Wow, that certainly does not match my experiences. I have owned 3 Q 4.0's. currently have 2.

If I turn it on and let the heater reach temp say 200 and blow a bag I get barely any vapor.

If I turn it on and let it set 5 minutes after the displays indicates its reached temperature and I get thick vapor.

The difference is huge. bag A will barely have any noticeable effect where as after 5 mintues that bag will really medicate you. There is a enormous difference. I haven't seen anyone here saying you can just turn it on and 2 minutes later blow a bag. If so all 3 of mine must be defective. weird.

I don't own any Qs. I never blow bags. I don't like thick vapour. I hardly ever set my temperature as high as 200C, and if I do it's because I am stepping up from a lot of vaping at lower temperatures.

I start my Extreme v3 at 160C. Granted, I don't hit the whip immediately after the heater reaches 160, but I have often hit it without waiting as long as five minutes. I don't get visible vapour, I get a nice tasty hit which definitely affects me. Even after 15 minutes of heating, the vapour at this temperature is barely visible. Perhaps the Qs won't work this way, but in my discussions with other Q owners and from this thread, I concluded (possibly incorrectly) that they were similar to the v3.

Did I forget to mention that it's all about what works for you?

The EQ will work after a short warm up of 3 minutes or so, however not very well. I find that a minimum of 10 minutes (I usually let it go for 15 - 20) is necessary to get all the glass parts evenly warmed for optimum performance.

This has been my experience as well. I let it heat up for 15 minutes.

That's my experience, too. 15-20 minutes gets the bowl very hot, the elbow very warm. Also pre-heats the herb. I've backed off from the 210c I started off with, now using 190c which with my material delivers great vapor while being easier on my windpipe. :)

I let it heat up for ~20min, or whatever happens really haha. I turn on the EQ when i'm thinking about it and usually forget until 30min later, so warmup time is never a problem for me haha. I just keep my vape at 200* all the time from start to finish, never higher and only lower when I'm vaping some hash or keif. By never turning it up my edibles later are delicious :)
