A bit of background. When I bought my E v 3.0 one of the cyclone bowls was slightly out of spec making it impossible for the screen to sit flat. Shortly after I got my E I also ordered a tuff bowl. No more burnt digits, the tuff bowl is all I used until I saw the coil idea. I wound a straightened paperclip around a sharpie to form a coil. Placed the coil in the out of spec cyclone bowl and the screen now fits perfectly on top of it. It works great. All the herb is exposed to the air path. No corners for herb to hide.

Is there a big difference in cloud quality vapeing out of a tube with the extreme and da buddha? The only reason i want the extreme is the bag feature.. I will more than likely use it more on water pipes so which is the better choice? :/

I plan to order an Extreme Q this week. I am seeing them priced from around $165 -299 on Ebay. Whats with the big difference in prices?

I have the same problem with smell, and also notice it doesn't work aswell. I JUST TRIED TAKING IT APART AND it has a lot of dust like residue inside. I had a hard time getting it apart, i cant even get to the heating element. I cannot find any info anywhere on the net about taking this apart. I looked at that vaporpedia you mentioned, but it did't show how to get to the element. I just wanna pull the element out and blow it out with a air hose or dust can. Oh and i blow in my whip all the time. my screen always gets packed so i blow to circulate. I opened the device, till I got to the ceramic element, however this is one is very hard to clean due to the fact that it is wired onto the device. And the hole in the element is very small.
Anyone who has experience cleaning his heating element?

Update: I have disassembled it like described in Vaporpedia.
However I have gone a step further, i removed the heating element + glass cover of the base, which is done by removing 3 screws. Then I tried to completely remove the heating element which is wired to the circuitboard. But the one of the screws won't come lose so this is not possible.
After I removed the glass cover I am now trying to get a wire or something through the element, then I can connect this wire to a small cotton ball drenched in ISO, and pull it trough and hopefully clean it.
I noticed already that there some sign of dirt on the extra ceramic plate under the heating element, to hold it up, which is probably caused by blowing into the whip. Which I did a couple of time, yes I know very stupid.

After a weekof use with my new silicon tubing I have to say its a huge improvement. 5 foot whip that is ultra flexible and the extra length cools the vapor enough to produce huge clouds with no coughing (if you are into that). Cant remember who directed me towards the new tubing but thank you. Well worth it.

Thanks Tricky, the 165 dollar prices almost seemed too good to be true, but as long as it is a NITB EQ then it should be legit. Obviously you want some sort of return policy in case you get a dud.
My IO absolutely would not get going today. Combusted for the first time in a few weeks. Got me lifted for sure, but I cant wait to get back to vaping.

Just wondering if any Q owners know if it would be safe to leave the cyclone bowl to soak in Simple Green? Is there any danger for the teflon(?) sleeve dissolving/degrading?

I got an Extreme Q two weeks ago and could not be happier with it. I have an iolite and wanted something with more options that didn't have a fixed temperature. It's been a blast trying out all the different features and finding the best temperature that suits me. I have been having great success with elbow packing the whip and am digging the bag more and more.

Okay, I am ordering my Extreme Q right after I get off FC. This site has been a great help. Just like Boris the Blade I am upgrading from the Iolite. I paid 250 dollars the IO last year so this purchase seems like a pretty great deal as it should end up being less than 200 with shipping. After I get this EQ i think i will be pretty well done smoking my herbs. Making me feel a little ill at the moment.

Hey everyone!
I was re-reading thru the thread to find out the easiest/ cheapest way to attach my EQ to a water filtration device. It has been great re-reading and taking all kinds of notes, but I would like to save a little time. So far I have read about a gong adapter and an Ehle 500 ML and diffuser. I want a set up that is really efficient for reducing lung burn. I would like to know what is the cheapest/ easiest as well as what will provide the best results. Money isn't really an object, but I consider myself rather frugal when it comes to expenses so I am looking for a good value.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, feel free to email me with opinions if you like!

I was looking to switch to vaporbonging recently, too. Before I spent a ton of dough on some high end glass, I wanted to make sure that it was something that I liked. So I went to my LHS and picked up a basic toob bong (Chinese) with an 18mm downstem. Then I just attached the mini whip to the glass mouthpiece of the regular whip and inserted the mini whip elbow straight into the bong's downstem and I was up and running. I enjoyed it so much that I made the decision that I wanted some really nice glass and bought a great piece that I use daily now.
So my suggestion would be to try a basic bong from your LHS that has GonG fittings, and see if you like it. The Chinese piece I bought was 40 bucks, so you can get into the hobby for very little dough. If you like it, there are unlimited options that you can go with in the glass world.

I've been looking for the same thing. 18mm female pieces seemed to be more on the rare side (and generally on high-end, more expensive pieces) at my LHS, so I figured I'll order the 14mm adapter to open up options a lot more.

Funny you should say that because after I go my EQ I gave my buddy my cheapo Graffx slider (which was about 5 years old ) Wondering if I got something like that for the short term (before I pick my fave glass bong) would I still need an adapter because I am pretty sure the EQ hose (plus a little sealant) would fit in the down stem? Thanks again for the quick reply! I have been checking out some custom Roor pieces for a few weeks, but can't decide which to get...

You could try putting the tubing into a downstem, but I wouldn't use any sealant. Make sure you remove the glass mouthpiece and get an airtight seal and you'll be ok. However if you get a cheapo bong that is already fitted with a GonG adapter (many if not most have this these days), you'll get a much better idea of true vapor bonging and it makes clearing your chamber much easier by simply removing the GonG piece as a carb.
