The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

My Cyclone bowl was stuck on the heater so I put it away. When the bowl got knocked back, the heater got pulled up a bit so the top of the heater is sticking out of the vaporizer by a few millimetres (higher than the outside edge). The heater still gets warm when you turn it on but I didn't have enough time to test higher heats. Is this bad and do you know how I can fix it? Should I just leave it (couldn't push it down with a gentle but firm push)?

If it still works, I would probably just leave it. Test it out thoroughly, and if it still can function with no problems, I wouldn't mess with it. If not, see if you can get a replacement from Arizer.

Stu,
Extreme-Q Further Thoughts....

In previous comments, I recommended the "elbow pack" loading approach. Upon further use of "The Q", I would like to revise that recommendation. "Elbow packing" works, but we prefer loading the Cyclone as recommended in the owners manual. The hits are strong and powerful and the herbs can be stirred after a few hits. It is difficult, if not impossible, to "stir" the small amount of herb in an "Elbow Pack".

It has been nearly 1 week since receiving our "Q", the 4th Vaporizer we've owned over the last 4-5 years. We prefer allowing the herb to sit in the Cyclone, warming up for about 3 minutes before drawing the first hit. The hit can then be taken passively, OR using the Fan to push vapor into the tubing for 3-4 seconds before you deeply inhale. This second method, referred to in the manual as "forced" really delivers a powerful hit.

Experimentation will continue, but right now we prefer loading the Cyclone, and using the short burst "forced air" technique.

Overall, this is the "best" vaporizer we've used and the "hits" result in the strongest impact.

We've ordered longer tubing since the tube that came with "The Q" is a bit under 3-feet and just a tad short for our location.

The one vape I could not do without is the Q. Every morning I turn it on to about 220 and the fan on 3. I leave it like that for a few minutes and it's ready to go.

I then load up with some sativa (usually Widow). I use the cyclone bowl- modified with a stainless wire to raise the screen a bit. I find this eliminates the need for the elbow pack, and from stirring. I then turn off the fan, drop down to 190 and load a very small amount into the bowl. I run the tube through my bubbler for perfect, tasty hits.

I get 3 or 4 huge rips at 190. I then bump up to 210 for a few more, and milk it at 230 if there is anything left. All set to start the day!

I love the Q. I love all my vapes but really need the Q. My PD is great for finishing off some indica before bed, but I would not want to use it exclusively during the day. MFLB is perfect for hikes, skiing, and running around town. I again would not want it as my home vape.

All good vapes in all good times!

Welcome to the board! got a DSLR? what kind of camera?

hope you enjoy the Q

Yes I have a D60, I love my Q, thanks for the welcome!

Nice camera, I love photography, but don't have the money to dedicate to a nice camera, so I shoot with a little point'n'shoot 10.2 megapixel...oh well :-/

Happy vaping!

Month into vaping with the Q and I love it although I feel like I'm cheating on it now that I got a MFLB. Anyway my buddy it's a wood worker and is going to build me a custom box for my Extreme Q and all it's accessories as well as some place to put my stash and ABV. I'll post pictures when it's done. Ive told him about this site and said there may be some others here that might want something similar. Not sure if that's true but if so I know he'd like to get into doing custom orders and not just for vape cases. Hes built two drift boats and a canoe by hand and they are very high quality. In fact his boats are quite the envy of the river when we go fishing.

Once its done and pics are up shoot me a message if interested and I can facilitate contact.

check out the Sony Nex-3. Bought one for my honeymoon. It is a combination SLR and point and shoot. Even takes 3-D full panoramic pictures. The lenses are removable and iterchangeable like an SLR but it has settings like a point and shoot. You can put it into full manual mode or let the camera do the work for you! Best pictures ever! Will post some pics later (not from honeymoon)

@HumboldtGuy1

.... had the Q for about 2 weeks. Wife and I prefer the elbow pack. Although you can not stir, we seem to get great vape even around 160c. After 12 good pulls, we just remove the ABV from the elbow screen and put it in the cylone bowl, load up a new elbow pack (with freshly ground medicine ), turn the Q up to 190 and enjoy. Two elbow packs gets us through the night.

We used to blow through 1-2 grams a night in our bong. Now, 0.2g in the screen can last over an hour... same amount used to last one bong load... if we feel like pulling tubes, we heat the Q up to 250 and can get four milky white bong vapor rips out of an elbow pack. We know vapor is wasted with the big bong rips as the lungs can only absorb so much vapor, but who cares, we are still blowing through less than 1/2 the amount of medicine.

@ hery happy

how do you like the MFLB. I love my Q but cant keep it in the car (although I have thought about it). My car does have an outlet in the center console that does works even when the car is off. I could vape without wasting any gas.

Do you find yourself getting the same effects from the MFLB? Is it somewhat comparable to the Q? It kills me every time I spark up the lighter to the glass piece i keep in the car. I work long days and usually need to take a smoke break around 4:20 (day often starts around 7:30AM and doesn't end until midnite)

My lungs have appreciated the move to vaping and I feel it much more now when I combust!

Ready to convert 100% vape!

Personally, I started with an EQ and just recently got a MFLB, a winning combination in my opinion. Its also great to have around when you don't feel like waiting for the EQ to warm up.

I too love my EQ but find myself using my MFLB a lot as well. I love them both equally, but they serve different purposes and I like having the choice of what to use depending on my mood and/or circumstances.

I had never vaped before last month when I bought my EQ. Absolutely love it. Right now its my weeked vape now that I have the MFLB. EQ is smoother in my limited experience but I'm still getting used to it though. Its portability is perfect and as I go through the thread from the beginning you can tell Magic Flight is a quality company that geniunely cares about their customers. Its refreshing. So are both vapes. Overall I think someone said it best they are perfectly compliment vapes. Off to vape an elbow balloon, dump, grind and drop in MFLB to finish off.:D

Hery Vappy,
I've had my EQ for two months now and I love it. I start at 145c and go up 5 degrees every other bag. i get 5+ bags not even filling the bowl halfway - the efficiency is unreal. My product tastes great, exactly how it should. My only gripe is the lack of a valve on the bags; i like to throw the bag to a friend instead of handing it off.

I could not agree more! One week ago we replaced the Evolution V7 with the "Q" and were stunned (as opposed to 'stoned') at how much better the effect is. We use the 'whip', and I replaced the stock tubing with a 4.5-foot length. This allows us to use it as a "party vape" which can be shared. We were also surprised at how quickly the "Q" reaches our desired temp (165) compared to the Evolution and the Super Vapezilla. We use the fan to deliver a 3-5 second 'hit' before drawing deeply. The result is very powerful. Overall, the "Q" is a major Upgrade (at half the price!).

Yesterday we received the MFLB. It took a couple of hits to get the technique down, but I'm very impressed! We got it specifically for travel, but I can see other casual uses. The "hit" isn't as intense as the "Q" with the fan going, but it does the job very nicely.

As others have noted, the "Q" and the MFLB complement each other very well.

Hello everyone, I am new to these forums and I just recently purchased the EQV on ebay for $165 shipped. After smoking out of bowls and bongs for prolonged periods of time, I could not be happier with my purchase and will be making the permanent switch to the EQV if I have my choice. Now, I plan on replacing the whip tubing in the future with the 7th foot tubing, but what about the tubing that attaches to the elbow you use to blow up a balloon? Does anyone know the dimensions or have a link?

On a side note, I like to blow bags up starting at 180c for 1 minute and then turn the heat up to 230c then after using only fan speed 1. This was recommended by the madscientist or whatever his name was. Seems to work like a charm and my weed turns nice and brown which tells me I have extracted all the goodies. I've been using the elbow to blow up bags instead but will switch it up with the cyclone eventually. As for the whip, I prefer to use strictly the elbow pack method starting at 190c and moving up in increments of 10c finishing the herbs at 220c.

I have heard this a lot (about the Q and MFLB compatiability), and have also realized that a vape isn't just an extra piece, it is the piece...Since having my q for a couple weeks, I have sold all of my glass except for two tubes (one repaired today)...And now I am getting the 'vaporizer fever' I guess you could call it...I have spent a lot of today on the MFLB thread, website, and vaporedia page...I have now concluded that it will be my next (non-herb) purchase!

While I don't mind waiting all of 3 mins for the EQ to heat up, nor do I really mind occasionally repacking the Q in the box and bringing it to a friends house, I am starting to envy the instant use of the MFLB...

As soon as I get the money saved I will have another vape in my collection!

It's the same tubing used for the whip.

Have you started vapor bonging? It is amazing! Our second elbow was broken (the balloon filler) so we removed the small piece of tubing. We ordered a new elbow but meanwhile, we attached the small tubing to the mouthpiece end of the whip. Then, turn the Q up to 250. Pack an elbow. Make sure you are well preheated. Get an EXTREMELY clean bong with fresh water as you do not want that nasty combustion bong water. Remove the male piece of bong. Insert the small tubing into the female piece of the bong and take a fat rip. You will get a milky white bong load like never before. As big and hearty as in the combustion days. An elbow pack (about .2g) will get two fat rips, and 4-6 more lighter pulls. We then drop the temp down to 165, pack a fresh elbow and puff for two to three more hours. RUMOR has it you can drink the Vapor Bong Water. I have not tried as we are using a bong that used to be used for combustion. I plan to go buy a new bong with a double filter, order some custom pieces for the Extreme Q to attach so I can start enjoying vapor bong water.

On a side note... I cooked with my ABV last night. Rocky Road Canna Fudge made with 14g ABV Canna Butter. DELICIOUS and I woke up high! I will start to post pictures and recipes on the Cooking With Cannabis soon. My buddy is heading to Humboldt to get me some trim and shake for cooking in about two weeks.

The efficiency gained by vaping is outrageous. I now vape the herb, turn the ABV into oil, butter, and tincture. Soon I will be drinking vapor bong water. Is there anything a VAPE can't do???

Ordering the MFLB this week.... Thanks to all for the advice. Third week vaping... I'm HOOKED!

Is that white tubing? Interesting. Also, what size did you order for the Q? I need to get some new tubing. Mine is getting grungy.

I have had my extreme Q for a few weeks now! This is my 2nd vaporizer, ... I absolutely looove the extreme Q!! Definitely meets all my expectation and vape needs! All I have to say is that Im so glad I made the change from smoking to vaping! Also I thank GotVape.com that originally turned me onto vaping! I've had the best experience going through the guys I bought it from! Very helpful and informative! Anybody know about the V-Tower? looks pretty similar to the Extreme Q. ... :ninja:
