Mods please delete my previous (stupid) post.
My real question is, is Newport butane an acceptable brand? I was looking for Vector at my local smokeshop but they don't carry it. Guy recommended the Newport that they have in stock.

Went on a trip to puerto rico recently (reason for SOME of the absence)

But the junior was an awesome travel companion!

Anyone have an opinion of the Ronson JetLite torches?
Not a stupid question, and imo the ronson jetlighter that I have (flip top grey single flame) has been working solid with my Vapcap for over 6 months now WITH good butane. not Ronson brand fuel. However with the sticky brick requiring horizontal or upside down lighting, the Ronson Jetlight fails me. hope that helps.

If God is the answer, then the question is wrong
I use my Sticky Brick only at home. Is it worth it to get the junior then?

I use it only at home / garden but I preferred Jr because of the top part hiding/protecting glassware.
When closed it is absolutely stealth (kids around) and I guess quite resistant to an accidental fall down too (again kids around :) )

I still love mine and use it quite often. I am back to native way (single flame and screen instead of 4flames + mighty capsules) and I like it (more session style) but I hate to stir and to clean the screen.
A dirty screen is no good at all/restriction and dark spots are inevitable consequences.
Also screen isn't very easy to pull it off in order to clean.

A j hooked kind of tool in order to remove screen entering from carb hole could be a nice partner for Jr

What intrigues you about junior?

And do you EVER vape outside the house?
It looks a lot smaller and easier to walk around with in the house. Also, since the vapour path is shorter I assume this will be slightly more harsh than the OG version which I won't mind since I hear a lot of good things about this. VAS is getting to me...

And yes, I vape outside the house on weekends and sometimes during my lunch breaks or after work. I don't think carrying a Sticky Brick to work would be ideal :D. I have the Mighty, PAX 2 or GH for that occasion.

I'm having a hard time getting even extraction with the Junior, even after stirring a few times in a session. I'll put @ 0.1 in the chamber, and on the first 1-2 hits, the vapor is amazing but the load gets baked very unevenly, so I stir, hit it again, it's still not even, so I repeat it just to get more even extraction but by then, I'm just drawing blanks despite still having pieces of greenish herb mixed in with the brown AVB. My hits are all in the 8-15 second range. 1" flame on the lighter, and I pulse the flame towards and away from the intake just like others have recommended.
So it feels like I can either A) get awesome hits with big clouds and just deal with the uneven extraction which makes me feel like I'm wasting herb, or B) stir and vape until its evenly cooked, but those last few hits are nothing but wood taste and I'm wasting butane by trying to get perfectly even extraction. This dilemma happens whether I use coarse or fine grind.

Anything I can do to reduce this occurrence? Should I or shouldn't I tamp the herb down?

Despite that gripe, the vapor out of this thing on the full hits is SERIOUSLY nice. Very smooth, full of flavor.

(not combusting at all).

Yeah I mean I always stir after every hit in these vapes, but to help get an even extraction during a hit, try wiggling the torch a bit in a slightly circular motion when heating, that could help you because I do get what you're saying

Though it may sound counter-intuitive for obtaining well done abv... try dialing your torch down a skosh but also slow down your draw. I use a pretty small flame these days compared to when I started. I think the woody taste comes from the intake hole more than from the bowl area, a smaller flame and draw should minimize this and it's nice to have the ability for tasty, low temp sessions. My intake opening was charred some initially but that area is then insulated by the charring and it does not advance further and the taste subsides. I had similar results early on but now only if I'm really going for it with a larger flame.

Yep circular motion good tip, also I think the mighty caps keep the load hot with full extraction and good taste, just flip and turn the cap a few times during session. Also my Jr is extremely clean now using caps only

Oh yeah i saw a Daisy posted with those caps, didn't know people were using that system here now for herbs, are they expensive? Does it add conduction to the bowl? That'd make sense if it's helping produce more even extraction

@mccringleberry actually, having the flame further vs closer helps improve vapor quality for a hit so it could help with even extraction as well, then it's more up to your draw at least, controlling temp to prevent hot spots (but I like a lighter extraction typically, so if you want to get it all darker then this might not help... Unless you compensate with draw that is)

Yes some conduction added with the capsules, I didn't notice a difference in taste so I rolled with it. The caps won't set you back much I think mine were $10 for a bag full. I just enjoy my sessions more now since they are quicker with less hassle and mess using the mighty caps imo.

Here is my abv just now from full cap flipped 3x and rotated 4x for around 10 min session of purple indica (a sativa blue dream or such would be lighter abv).
