The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

vape4life

Banned for life
It's not smoke, it's vapour. Light up a bong and look at the smoke, it's different. The Q can't produce smoke. The SSV can. Your not getting the herbs as dark as you like because you're not vaping at high enough temp. I think 215-225 is the sweet spot for the Q. Also the fan browns best I find, especially when I blow bags...gets super dark.

Now don't worry about those carcinogens...the worrying is worse for you. And remember it's not nicotine, so I wouldnt' worry too much.

To respond to an earlier post, I usually do 170 to 195 because I heard carcinogens start around 200 celsius, but is that only if the actual herbs (not the heating element) hit 200?

If I pack the elbow it seems like I get smoke coming out of my mouth after I inhale. Is there a way to tell the difference in an exhale between vapor and smoke? I've noticed if it seems more like smoke that it tends to escape my mouth slightly even if I'm holding it in, whereas the same isn't always true with the light white vapor. Or am I packing too hard into the elbow piece?

I'm definitely getting high, but not consistently yet, and still not getting the herbs as dark as I guess they're supposed to get

Thanks for the reassurance about carcinogens. I am still quite new to all of this.

I understand that its not supposed to be smoking and that smoke looks different from vapor, but sometimes it does still feel different, more smoky and painful and uncomfortable, when I pack the elbow very tightly and am at 190+... is it just a much thicker vapor and I wasn't ready for it? Or...? Trying to understand =)

Putting your recommendations to work in the background, here :0)

sure, the more you pack in there the thicker the vapour will be and if it's hitting you hard it could also be the heat. Try using a water pipe with it to cool the vapour. I find the bags pretty dry harsh and gross unless you go pretty low on the temp, but then it's not thick enough so I can't win.

The vapour can indeed look very smokey, but that's because it's the beginning stages of pyrolysis.

Okay, I'm understanding mroe of how it is physically impossible to get smoke and how it may look smoky, and that maybe I'm just getting a thicker or better hit than before (more at once), but why does it still seem uncomfortable to hold in the throat or I have to cough a lot afterwards/during, is it just too much at a time

Oh... and also...

Will you always see vapor when you exhale or some drifting out of your closed mouth or nostrils before exhaling? Does it stay on your breath like smoke?

saeton,

No it doesn't stink on your breath like smoke at all. It leaves a bit of a gross smell/taste but nothing too bad.

You're coughing because you're temperature is too high...bring it down and the vapour will be thinner. You control how thick you want it based on temp and how fast you inhale from the whip. The slower you inhale the thicker the hit.

Enjoy your Q!

THC is a natural expectorant. A heavy hit of vapor can make you cough.

Please explain to me how this is going to give me more vapor using the Extreme Q because I can't get dense hits no matter what I do; it just doesn't get hot enough! I'm starting to think it's a design flaw with the cyclone bowl because there is a glass lip where the screen sits and when the hot air passes through, it cools and pushes the bud to the sides of the bowl. The weed only turns slightly brown and produces light vapor even at 500F. Please, somebody tell me how can I get thick dense hits out of this vaporizer? :bang: Also, if I buy this how would I fill and attach the whip to this adapter?

Why don't you just try what the electrician has suggested ?, the part is cheap and others that have tried it really think it works well. Using the cyclone bowl to vape your herb is the least desirable method IMHO, at least use the elbow pack method using parts you already have.

my extreme q arrived today thanks to a great person, and i love it, i am using the 3' whip so that i dont have to move to fill the ballooon, very convenient, did not like smoking from the whip but whatever. another thing, the bags leak a little bit from the connection and they r small, 3 -5 puffs and its out, but so r u!!! so whatever!! thank you.

i hope u find a problem to the bag's opening, maybe engineer a lid of some sort...

HEY kifenehma3ak!!!! when i read this i finally decided i had to signup for an account, just so i could say CONGRATULATIONS! i'm glad your enjoying the E-Q as well as i am.

I cleaned my whip out earlier so i could start collecting some clean honey in the one elbow piece that hasn't broken yet. i'm really anxious for it to build up so i can fix up my own personal $60 gram ^_^

i hope you and your new eq have a long and happy relationship. CHEERS!!! lol

at first, I was also having issues with not getting "thick dense hits" off my E-Q.. its been about 2 weeks now and daily reading on tips from other users. these are my results;

I've switched from only using the bag method to now being devoted to my whip.. I'm finding with my unit, the sweet spot is between 200-220.. higher temps producing thicker vapor that leaves me coughing and I'm generally "good to go" after 2 cyclone bowls filled halfway to the black-tapered section.

vape4life was spot on when he recommended turning the temps up abit higher

Higher temp = more release of cannabinoids = more stone (or at least more cbn/cbd). I've been back and forth between the whip and bag. I like the massive amounts of vapour in the bag that is effortless and definitely feel it hit hard, but don't like the dry nasty taste sometimes, although new fresh bags make a huge difference.

The whip can produce some serious thick good hits for the first few, but then after the vapour is thin and weak and I find I can't get lit like the bag.

Ofcourse, I think attaching to a water bong and shotgunning into the lungs might be the most effective and efficient :)

I didn't realize the EQ could be turned sideways. I turned it sideways and used a box style whip and got better hits. This proves the cyclone bowl is useless. The weed sits too far above the heating element creating a venturi effect which cools the air as it passes through the glass lip holding the screen, the screen, and then the weed. I plan on buying the adapter you posted, replacing the glass elbow and just using the existing tubing and mouthpiece. Turning the EQ sideways and using a box style whip is currently the only way I can get it to produce decent hits. I get barely any vapor when it's sat upright. I still haven't figured out how to get dense hits, but hopefully this new adapter will help. Thanks electrician for the information.

The vaporized cannabinoids released effectively block or counteract the carcinogens. There is literally no association between cannabis smoke and lung cancer or oral cancer, so you don't have anything to worry about there. And in the proportion of cannabinoids to carcinogens that you'd be inhaling from running your vaporizer at a higher temp, you are probably reducing your risk of developing lung/oral cancer to below that of the general populace. In other words, you are lowering your risk of developing cancer even if you are inhaling some carcinogens. The net effect is still positive. The only downside to smoking weed is that it is less efficient (~50% of cannabinoids are lost due to combustion) and the particulates (smoke) that get in your lungs, which can cause chronic bronchitis and emphysema in the long run if you smoke a lot. Also the smell, which some people don't like.

If you're getting smoke, you will taste it. You should smoke at least a couple times just to get a taste for it so you know exactly when you're at the edge of burning your weed.

What you're probably seeing is vapor. When you pack the elbow the vapor will be much more dense than in the cyclone bowl and even after holding your hit for 30+ seconds, you may still have unconsumed vapor visible when you exhale. Take shorter hits and hold them longer by inhaling a little fresh air every few seconds.

Cannabis vapor is an irritant and when you take really dense hits, it can cause you to cough. Gotta work on your iron lung if you use the elbow pack method.

Edited Post : I did not want my comments to be taken as more than MY Opinion. I did not inted to say anything misleading or malicious toward any manufactureer or thier product. Only talking! ;) :)

Greetings All !

I am a well experienced Canadian herb enthusiast and have used a few units, I am looking to buy my very first vaporizer! Actually funny enough... I was in the glass blowing industry for a long time.I was never a glass blower, just the design and bussiness guy!. I lived in India and designed and manufactured glass bongs/pipes/bowls/glass-on-glass ect while my business partner wholesaled here in Canada... he still does ... my path lead a different way. ...lol... anyway...!

I have used a few units b4 and I am looking for a few things-

the best possible vaporizer for my health
the best possible vaporizer for my money
-reliable manufacture/customer service
-most reliable/safe unit on the market

I know I ask a lot. But IMO this is the way to be!

I have used a Volcano b4 and I am not satisfied with only bags nor am I quite so certain about some of the parts used in its construction... IMO

*IMO* Da Buddha is expensive Chinese junk. :2c: This is my opinion only, many think it is great and I also think it is much much better than many other units, I am just not sold on the manufactures info of the product. To me it seems unclear who is actually making the unit.. Again I am not 100% sold on the components of the unit or their composition. Only My opinion. Although I do like the SSV..(quality unit) they are not for me.

IMO.... I have used some box style including HotBox and VaporBros box style knock offs including the GotVape Aroma classic which IMO is a cheap unit with a whip with glue in it !! I have seen one melting b4.. humm... yummy glue vapor?!?! IMO some of the people that I see use many of the box styles over heat and vaporize more than THC... (but that is NOT all people or all box units!) .. IMO .. Most of them are put together with the lowest quality parts available. IMO ... :2c: Although there are quality box style vaporizers out there!!

Now after much reading and video watching and e-mailing, I have decided that this is the most unbiased, informative and best communities and resources for vaporization and it's tools. So many companies set up completely biased uninformative BULL SH*T web sites, review sites and shamelessly "kick-back" consumers to make seemingly "unaffiliated" reviews and post videos. IT IS ALL GARBAGE!!!!... I just want to get the healthiest, safest, best, priced and best preforming unit on the market!! And want to find more people that agree with such than just the manufacturer and companies, consumers profiting from the products! Mind you , I do realize there are some genuinely happy consumers that rave and post vids about products only because they love them!! It is just hard for the average joe/jane to wade through all of the information... I mean come on there is sites and sites, and reviews and videos, and pod casts and blogs and and and ....... I spent days going through all of this junk before I could get anything real! There are not many unaffiliated sites out there that have many users and manufactures and retail companies all posting in great harmony! *** WAY TO GO FUCK COMBUSTION!!!*** :2c:

I have got my choice down to two ( and I will prob end up owning both ) and I need to decide what to do for my first one!

Extreme Q - I am most impressed with all that I have read about it and the company and its customer service! Also I have had some great contact with Debbie @ Arizer and she had a direct and timely answer for me when I asked about the materials mmainly concerning the metals in their screens. She said this:

Thank you for your email.

All our Screens and made to our specifications, they are made of Stainless Steel / Titanium blend. We have carefully sourcedpartsfrom all over the world and have gone to great lengths the past yearsto source and use onlysafeparts, from glass to silica free ceramics, there are no glues, pcb's are lead free, all accessories are medical/food grade etc...All structure materials used inside are ofsafenon-toxicmaterials and are temperature heat rated much higher then the heater can go at maximum temperature. Boththe Extreme and V-Tower are assembled here in Canada with parts comingfromUSA,Germany,Japan, Korea, and Taiwan.

If I can be of further assistance please let me know.

Have a Wonderful Easter Weekend."

Best Regards
Debbie

The main concern I have is the materials in the metals.. I know that titanium is very resistant to reactions with heat.. it takes extreme temperatures to produce and vapors or gases... The stainless I am not so sure about... it is made with chromium and can react or oxidize at a much lower temp.. but I am not sure. .. also wonder about lead free solder and parts on the inside??

Can any one help? I have asked for some more info from Debbie.. I am sure she will get back to me... just looking for some 'third party' info!!

I am biased towards this Canadian company because they are very local to me and I like to support my country. Not to knock Americans or products made in the USA!

Vapor Bros. - I really like the ceramic screens and the new ez change whip and they also claim to have there elements and screens tested by third party... although no one can find the reports!..lol..... all and all they seem to be a health conscious... assembled in the USA and seems to be used and supported by the medical marijuana community..

Although I am sure both good units.. I am looking for some thoughts and opinions on the two and the Metal screens mostly.

In know both of the units that I mentioned are completely different, in style and composition. I was hoping anyone with experience with both or either can offer some thoughts, maybe Some one with some scientific knowledge about the metals in the screens used by EQ could weigh in on this one? Like I said I am probably going to eventually get both if I can...although I am only going to buy one now... and I am sure it will be while until I can get another unit.

Since I am posting this in this forum, and by the tone of my post, I am sure some of you know which unit I have semi decided on.

Some units also seriously Considered:

Herbalaire-Extreme seems to have way better reviews.... any thoughts? (I did read the comparison forum already)

Purple Days- Would like to get one eventually .. wait list to long for immediate needs.. may look @ Pandora unit in the future. Looks like a health conscious unit. Unit seems extra solid for travel needs.

Aromed - Little out of my price range right now.. maybe one day.

Thanks.. looking forward to buying one ASAP !!!..lol... :brow:

Well long first post... but.. here I am. Happy Vaporizing All!!!

:peace:

UPDATE APRIL 4: Steve got back to me already and filled me in on the exact type of stainless they use in the screens. Great people this Arizer company!!!

Steve here, thanks for your email and comments.

I'm not sure on the ceramic screens, I have some but they seem to char or the resins build up quickly.

Our screens are simply 440 Stainless Steel / Titanium blend, the best we could get made. I'm a very picky person and from all the options we looked this was the safest and also most functional. We've played around with glass screen idea's but haven't come up with any thing that lasts.

Both Vaporizers.ca and Rockwise will treat you right.

Enjoy!

Steve

Quick question (new here). Why would anyone pay the $299 retail price when these are all over ebay for $220-$230 shipped, even with some being authorized sellers of Arizer vaporizers? I just want to make sure the 2 year warranty and all that is still valid with an ebay purchase. I just can't justify spending $300 when I can spend only $220. THanks!

You might want to check with what ever seller you are buying from to make sure you get your warranty. You may find some of those cheap extremes might come with difficulty when deal with warranty.

Thanks for mentioning this Devo.

If you are seeing an EQ with an advertised/listed online for $220-$230 you should be weary of such sellers, as Arizer will not honor warranties for units bought from these unauthorized dealers. for all warranty issues Arizer requires a copy of the receipt you received from the reseller. do not hesitate to ask resellers or Arizer if the resellers are Arizer Authorized Dealers. i think Steve at Arizer may be compiling a list of authorized online dealers, but don't quote me on that!

Da Buddha is expensive Chinese junk? I know that this is the Extreme thread, but that statement was, in fact, a bit extreme. I know you said, "IMO", Ginni, but to anyone other newbies to vaping that may be reading this thread, it's important that you know that of all the users here at this site, that Ginni stands alone in this opinion. While not everyone is going to like the Buddha, calling it an expensive piece of Chinese junk with questionable parts and glue is just wayyyyyyyy over the top and if stated as fact, would just not be true. As a matter of fact, stating that it has questionable parts and glue is not an opinion but a stated fact and the fact is, is that it's parts and glue (do they even use glue?), is no more questionable than that used in any other vape on the market. The vapor path in the Buddha passes over nothing but glass within the vape, so I have no idea what questionable glue or parts that he, or anyone else should be concerned about. Makes no sense, whatsoever.

Sorry to the Extreme users and potential buyers here, but I had to elaborate a bit on Ginni's post.
