It's funny you mention that. I've always considered the VapCap the Aeropress of vaporizers. Especially the OG model, it's so simple and quite similar in construction. A tube within a tube, with a cap and a screen (or paper filter).
Never thought of it that way, but it makes a lot of sense.

, I couldnt see it before through the glass it isnt what I thought it would be like- it is wide all the way down, not narrower at the end by the tip, like the pictures of the ones on the website, which have a narrower pointed end as it goes into the tip.

Can anyone tell me if this is how it should be? Does it need to have a narroxer end? I want to email George again admitting my mistake, just want to get clear first.

The parallel condenser is George's newest design for the OG. Below is a link to his post explaining condenser function and this new upgrade. The website is displaying a picture of the old condenser.

Celebrating international? Coffee day with the Vapcap, my Aeropress and lots of coffee.

Right on!!! I love my Aeropress! Simple, tiny footprint especially compared to an electric drip coffee maker and the coffee is produces is superior....all for a fraction of the cost of other coffee makers.

I see a trend...in all things, simplicity and functionality wins out every time.

Long live the Vapcap and the Aeropress!

This is how I've been using my OG, it fits awesome in the 18mm male to male. Much better than using the 14mm reducer or even a 14mm rig I have...

I found a fun game to play with my OG + Dynastash. I'm calling it Popcorn.

Here's how it works.....

1. Load a bowl of finely ground material. Pack loosely.
2. Vape bowl until it's done.
3. Place OG on Dynastash magnet.
4. Slowly lift the body off, leaving the cap on the Dynastash. If the material was dry enough and ground finely, it should fall into the cap when the body is lifted.
5, When the cap hits the cooldown click, it launches the material in the air like popping corn.

+1 bonus if both cooldown clicks launch material in the air.

I'm easily entertained. :haw:

I can confirm that this works with the omni

I'll have to see if it works my og now, I'm sure it does but I just need to be sure..

@Copacetic That Damascus looks very, very nice, what did you end up doing to make the 'grain' pop??

So I take some LSD and then the grain pops? What happens when the acid wears off?

;)

Acid was involved :science::

George did a deep etch at my request which resulted in a pronounced texture (very grippy), but a fairly uniform greyish matte colour:
2FHl5MX.jpg

It had looked like this before the deep etch (don't know how @VapCap achieved this finish, but I like it too):
dnSFCuS.jpg

Heating the body as hot as my domestic oven would go (about 400 C), and then dunking it in a test-tube of the gun blue (outdoors, with great care!) turned the whole thing a matte black (took about 3 cycles of this process, heated in oven each time), which made the texture very hard to see, but then I 'polished' the raised ridges of the Damascus with fairly fine grit Wet-And-Dry (2000?) glued to a stiff backing (tongue-depressor type stick) to achieve a dark/light contrast (no pic's of this stage, sorry).
I imagine Emery Boards could conceivably be used too.

I then thoroughly scrubbed the interior of the body with scotch-brite pad to rid it of the black oxide surface formed by the hot-blue process, and finally boiled the piece in oil to seal the surface inside and out (sunflower cooking oil was the safest thing I had to hand, but I'd have used a coconut oil/veg oil mix if I'd had any coconut, If I'd had any reclaim I'd have used that too!).
That produced this:
P87AFGk.jpg

This surface is a lot less grippy, but a lot more satisfyingly tactile and smooth feeling.

Rinse and repeat.

I asked for my Damascus body to be etched to expose the grain as well as opposed to the polished finish. I have no idea exactly what process Jason @Dynavap used to expose a raised grain finish, but I love it!

Your Damascus is a beauty Squiby, maybe a similar process?

IMPORTANT SAFETY EDIT:
Forgot to say that I also packed the body with sodium bicarbonate and boiled it in water after the hot-blue process to be sure that all the acid was fully neutralized before I boiled it in oil.

Greetings!

What an action packed week the past 2 weeks has been. :)
We now have our laser up and operating. Still a bit of tweaking to do to get it dialed in, but oh boy, to just see the first laser cut caps come out of that machine. Well, it more than made my day.

Here it is.

So then there has been the follow up with the vendors from the IMTS show. Really cool things ranging from new and improved cutting tools, robotics, and some of the most advanced manufacturing machinery I have ever seen. In fact, as I write this I am on a plane on my way to LA to go look at some of it right now.
When I think about what this type of equipment could mean for Dynavap, I get excited. Then here comes what I think is the best part.
Development! Probably one of my favorite things about this project is how it enables me to focus on design and development, and at the same time it is now providing me access to technology and materials I have only dreamed of being able to work with. What will I be able to do with an 8 axis CNC machine? More titanium and other exotic materials? Only time will tell.

And check out this OmniVap with a blasted mouthpiece.

There are some really exciting things coming!

Thank you everyone for helping me get to this point.

Cheers,

George

When i am filling my VC i am DOC, then when i use my VC i am HAPPY, then DOPEY and later SLEEPY.
When i sniff my VC i get SNEEZY and when my lighter runs out of gas i get BASHFULL. When i cannot use my VC i am GRUMPY.
Think i have multiple dwarf disorder?

And where is snow white?

Visual would likely require some kind of electronics, which would go against the simplicity of the vape. Sometimes I have the home theater cranked up, and even without being able to hear the Vapcap, I can feel the click in my hand. So visual, no. Tactile, yes.
I don't hold my vong though, so it being tactile doesn't help.

Man this new equipment is super exciting! Looking forward to seeing which new goodies and ideas you have when you return! :D

An 8 axis CNC and more metal options has me drooling: I'd love to see some 14mm ti vong mouthpiece tips designed to be compatible with the dynavap range, seems like this should be something possible with all this new equipment? More metal options for components would be wonderful!

With all the time I spend using my omni, I find myself frequently thinking that a titanium on glass adapter style mouthpiece attachment would be very welcome for those big cloudy concentrate hits :D

So remembering some posts here on FC, I made a vapcap heating station out an Ecig I usually use to vape hash. I am blown away by how well it works. It removes all the skill/technique you need when using a torch. Now it never overheats or under heats, and i can hit it while heating if I want.

@PeteSeattle I would really love one that had a 70's candy dish vibe to it, like what google shows for "70's green color":

Maybe a tiny bit darker:

Hopefully this wasn't an obnoxious post.

Looks avacado to me. I have jade but its not the 70s vibe (posted photo way back somewhere).

I'll look for avocado next time I'm buying colored glass tubes. I agree, I like that 70s vibe ... my childhood!

Interesting, care to share some pics? I've got a ton of various ecig gear laying around & my current torches aren't ideal. Got a triple & dynastash ordered but I don't think it's shipped yet.
