Has anyone tried out the Aluminum VG's? Just noticed them on the VG website
metal.JPG

From what it says, the top part is wood like the classic CG, the only new part is the pipe body is aluminum.

Haven't tried it. It looks alright, but it's really redundant as the top fits on about any metal screw pipe bottom. I've been using my classic wood top on a metal pipe for most of the time I've had it, it's way easier to use and clean than the wood base.

... Boom Shiva !
So which is the best VG to go for wood or aluminum or classic ?
Glass is breakable so out of the question

I just got mine! the aluminium VG! ordered Friday received Tuesday! (in France)
great! I also order a classic bottom part (for party or concert...), a t shirt,
and a cleaning kit!
only surprise was the arrival ... a customs tax of 30 ...
I use a vaporstar since 9 months, I definitely love it ... I quit smoking with! I will take a ehle 100ml ice bong to make it definitivly for exclusive home use!!!
But I needed one more all-purpose and easy to carry ...No bong-like so!
so I wanted to take a VaporGenie since some time and when I saw this model aluminum, I cracked up!
1st impressions: It is really beautiful! compared to the classic
that is really pales next!
only the top part let me a few suspicious about the finish!
1st test successful, the steam is easy to get fresh! Effect is here!!! that not become to hot! no problem for fingers!
a little training will still be necessary ... I still made a little little soot on the filter on a small corner of the ledge!

glass version tempts me a lot too ... with all the money I save since I quit smoking ... you can let go! (and maybe a volcano or extreme for my 1st smokeless anniversary!!!)

Gat Vaked! and Ciao!

@VapoBreizh:
I don't want to talk you into anything but I've got the volcano and since bout a week I am a proud owner of de verdamper. If you're looking for a big hitter vape go for the verdamper it outperforms the volcano in all means ;-)
Especially if you try quit smoking and miss the ritual. Using the verdamper is more like smoking a shisha - just not smoking but vaping.

I recently got a bare naked VG. I chose bare naked so my natural dirt/oils would stain and finish the pipe. Anyone else have a bare naked? how long have you had it? and how does it look now? any pics would be cool.

Wow!!! This new Aluminum Bat looks AWESOME! I want to get one of these so bad..I might just go ahead and spend the 50 bucks on it even though I have a glass one..this looks like ultimate portability, plus it just looks really cool...check it out:
http://www.vaporgenie.com/Aluminum-VGs/View-all-products.html

They say that it is easier to position the flame because the hole is on the side, so I guess you just hold the lighter straight up and position the bat next to it...wow this is so cool!

My one concern is that it might be hard to tell if you are building up soot on the ceramic filter since you can't actually see the filter (at least I don't think you can..it's hard to tell by the pictures). Do you guys think the filter is sunk deep down in the top portion, or farther up near the hole? oh man, I really want to order one of these...it looks really easy to clean too

Edit: after looking at the pics closer, it looks like the ceramic filter is at the bottom of the top piece (near the bowl), but there is also a cylindrical black piece that you can see inside the flame hole..I wonder what that is?

here are the pics from their site:

Even im on the same note .... planning to order a VG exclusively for use with pressed hash. I was looking at the aluminum one myself ...... please give some insight.

what is the difference between the aluminum bat VG and the aluminum pipe VG? which would better suited for hash

:o can't beleive there a new one since yesterday!... :o

And it look interesting for me... pfff can't beleive it! at least i can wait for review!:ninja:

For the moment i'm pretty happy with my new VGs, i do some test with alu or classic...alu seems to be few better! But i have to say i'm not sure of my heating method! too accustomed to VaporStar that i consider for the moment more efficient than VG! will see with time!(i notice yesterday that mouth piece goes well in vaporstar! that make it realy tiny vaporizer!)

(@rhygin sure i notice it, and that remind me there is the herborizer that gives me the eye for a while!)

Have a good vape, Bye!

edit : i just test alu-VG without mouthpiece and heating seems to be better, giving biggest and stronger vapor hit!
re-edit : it goes well to well!:science::evil:

On the VG Bat, maybe the black cylindrical piece is to further break up the flame so that the soot will deposit there instead of the filter? just a guess

Bet it would make a great travel pipe, can soak it in alcohol to clean compared to the wooden ones.
and compared to all other vapes, 45 bucks is a loss that is much easier to swallow if you are forced to leave your pipe where you travel to.

So I got my handcrafted teak in today and man, that shipping is quick! I ordered it Sunday afternoon and here it is Wednesday. Pretty nice.

Appearance wise it looks pretty cool other than the top half is much darker than the bottom.
Not a big deal, just not as pictured.. Someone else stated theirs was like that too.

I tried it out today and it took me a while to get the hang of it but I have it down pretty well now.
I can get some pretty big hits without torching so Im pretty happy. Ran out of lighters quick though.

I let my roomate try it and he burned it, even though I told him to be patient and not hit it hard.
Now, i have 2 black marks on the top portions filter. He sunk the flame pretty deep in there..

Can I clean that part?, does it make a difference? Also, my high didnt last long, does it not work so well with regs? Thanks for reading.

Damn, I still kind of miss my VG. It is nice to be able to visit it every now and then when I visit my buddy who I gave it to. When I hit it, its like we never parted ways.

I have one, I never really got into it, I guess I'm waiting for the next blackout. Seriously I bet it's great once you get the skill of using it properly together.

after 2 days using VGs, i have to say it works very well...
The Alu is very pleasant to have in hand and mouth, it's very sweet and makes a gentle heat! It's also very stable!
Vaporizing aspect is good, no burn (i think it's difficult to burn with VG), good taste... but I cough frequently because I'm often too big puff!
And also it's very easier without mouthpiece! (and especially helped me to understand how well heat it!)

I would bet that the aluminum ones taste a lot better than the wood ones. I have the original VG and the main thing that I didn't like about it was the taste as compared to my home vapes.

Lwien, have you ever tried the Ubie? It's a glass into glass simple vaporizer using a lighter with the same principle as the VG.

I tried it a few times a few years ago as my first foray into vaporizing and put it aside after took the plunge and got a SSV and a VG but I always thought it had potential. I think they cost about ten dollars.

yet I do not notice the taste of wood with the classic (I have the black version and in fact it does not feel the wood at all!)
But I think the taste is slightly altered compared to the aluminum model (and vaporstar more (I found it more powerful in both taste that power...so VG is cool 'cause VS get me vaked too much!:whoa:))

Ok,got the VG today!
Actually it must have arrived a week or two ago, because I sent it to my dad's work and they couldn't find the package:|
Anyways,I got the 45 $ rust model that was overstocked plus pipe cleaners and screens.
I'm not that stoked on the brown color finish, but since its my first vapor tool I'm just experimenting.
Don't have anything till sat so I'll try it with tobacco tomorrow :/
I tried a couple of angles for the flame but I doesn't look that difficult to do since I'm used to cyloom pipes.
How do you take the mouthpiece off? I don't wanna jerk it off. Oh yea , sorry for my ignorance, but I have no idea how to clean the vg with Iso!
Will let you know the results after I vape italian weed!! :D

1. If you can find a torch lighter (they are very cheap on eBay) you should try it out because it uses butane at a slower rate.

2. It stinks that he deposited some soot on the filter, I hate it when that happens. I use a torch lighter and vacuum cleaner to suck air through the VG and superheat the ceramic filter until it turns orange..then the soot burns off easily. There are other methods, such as pouring boiling water through the filter, but I haven't tried anything else.

3. I love vaping regs/schwag in my VG because it works much better than smoking the same stuff. The problem is that the bowl is so small that you need to vape a couple or few bowls of schwag to get a good effect. The huge bowl of my glass VG solves that problem though

Hope this helps

You aren't supposed to use alcohol/ISO on the wood so you just clean it with pipe cleaners..just run a couple through the pipe portion and then use one to clean out underneath the screen

Ok,just tested it with tobacco, did 5 hits.
the first two didnt work at all, and I think the flame touched the inside of the filter cuz there's some black stuff that wont go away.:( fucked it up already ;)
The other hits were good, Im using a normal lighter, but the only problem is that I cant work the flame well cuz the tip of the flame doesnt go inside that well and I cant tell if its touching the filter. I tried turning the vg at other angles but its the same thing. Will try with weed tomorrow but I want to try to get the technique down today.Any ideas?
