....I believe that most of the problems folks are experiencing is related to the "draw"...people want to pul this device hard...to produce the"most clouds"...it's the opposite..a soft controlled pull ..easy..produces more than enough volume ..

Those who have it--anything new from that second build? Once again, I'm sure it won't be too long before the public will have it. Getting antsy I guess :)

No obvious new features that I've noticed. Just the Power Tuning feature.

I'm also waiting for that app update. :brow:

I'm hoping that that 10% power increase will be just the thing to kick the vapor production up a notch and make it easier for anyone to get a nice draw.

It is and it does. It's pretty hot when you use it on High.

I never get the solid blue light. When I tried to use the FF with a half charged battery (the extra one they gave me) it worked until that battery died and then couldn't be recharged. It will connect to the app when on the dock. Maybe the dock is bad, but that seems unlikely.

It actually could be the dock since it happens with both batteries, the FF worked fine, and there are a few users that had dock issues. Try a different USB block as well. I've had varying results with different blocks.

I am in decent shape but just couldn't walk and hold breath for thirty seconds.

I keep forgetting that thc absorption seems to be immediate so no need to hold breath at all. I still do holding when i am on autopilot cause that is what i have done uselessly for years. More important is to finish with fresh air to drive the vapor deep into lungs to where it can be absorbed.

Does the FIREFLY 2 have good flavor like the first one?

Best IMHO.
Sorry for appearing to be a bad person?

I blew it so hard with the first FIREFLY.
The first 2 or 3 weeks the taste was amazing.
I bought it on flea-bay. (I know IDIOT move)

Sometimes I really mess up?
Dam button does not work.
I obviously got a counterfeit!
Nice design however cheap parts.

I was burnt! (my fault)!

Buy from an approved dealer or direct.

One day I hope to own a FIREFLY 2!

Right now I'm so embarrassed! (bad mistake)

You people who have one (smart move)!

FLAVOR is very important! (no GonG) also! I break them.

Could be your USB block. When I first got the unit I tried using an Apple one. It took forever to fully charge and I felt it got a lil wonky. I'm gonna echo @mitchgo61 here--I think it is involving the dock, or, which is more (extremely) unlikely, the charging "pins" on the unit since it "worked until that battery died." The batteries not recharging whatsoever--not even for a hit--does not seem likely that they're the culprit, either. Hmm. Interested to hear back after you try some trouble-shooting with the dock/USB cable/USB charging block (what goes in the wall).

The flavor is excellent. As has been mentioned earlier, it's a little less cool temperature-wise than the FF1 due to the glass lid vs. the steel lid of the 1, but the actual flavor rivals the 1. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I think I used an ipad block and it helped, perhaps due to its larger transformer load over the phone block. I had pretty lousy luck with my dock...it was just temperamental as hell. I've been using the old FF1 external charger, which is a way better way to charge for a variety of reasons.

Cloudy...
So I have been testing my unit and my old battery and it seems like it can hold the charge, but I'm not sure if this battery last as much as it should. It's a shame that I only have one battery to test. By the way, still no answer from the CS about the refund, the changes in my unit or my missing battery... That's why I'm gonna go for a refund, next time I have another issue I don't want to be MONTHS to get it sorted. My contact is on holidays this week, CS isn't answering and the COO who they told about my case seems to not give a shit because he never got in contact with me. My worst experience ever with a CS and exactly why I want a refund, I have ALL of my emails stored and it's really annoying to see how every single one I have sent to the CS hasn't been answered. They only answer back when my contact (thx again @mitchgo61 ) tells them and it's just to do what she tells them, NEVER answering my questions. In fact I just checked my mail and since JULY there are 8 unanswered emails from the CS, ridiculous.

But let's go to the testing itself:

1st Charge: Finished charging Saturday morning and lasted until Monday night. Huge improvement, now the battery doesn't draind by itself. Got 20 hits on high and 4 in medium, connected it 4 times to the app always disconecting after setting temp. Battery lasted 24 hits in total and 2 days and a half

2nd Charge: Finished charging Tuesday 2am, lasted until Wednesday 4:40am. Got 2 hits low, 4 medium, 2 Medium high and 16 on high. Connected to the app 5 times. Battery lasted 24 hits and 1 day.

3rd Charge: Finished charging Wednesday 13:30, lasted until wednesday late night. Got 27 hits on high, no connections to app.

So it seems like this battery only can give me around 25 hits. How many hits are you getting on a full charge guys? I have the impresion that around 25 is less than most people is getting here, but can be wrong.

Stay charged, my friends
I just had a thought regarding manual control of the FF2. I don't own one myself and the only reason is reliance on the app to change temperature profile. It would be an annoyance for me to open an app every time.

So, why not give the user the ability to configure the device for two temperature profiles based on one button vs two buttons pressed/touched simultaneously? E.g., one button for med-high and two buttons for high.

And on another note, should I call them buttons at all? Capacitive touch locations??

Great idea; I would appreciate that for sure! Also I wish someone would make an FF app to work on a laptop. Someone did that for the Crafty and it's very useful...

Absolutely, this is 100% doable from a technical standpoint. In fact it should be very easy to do considering they already detect each button press independently as left or right from the app.

This is a little less likely because it's being hosted on an app platform. I'm not sure how they handle the firmware inside the device and exactly how the app interacts but what's clear is that it requires the use of bluetooth.

As far as I know there aren't currently any android or iOS emulators that support bluetooth so custom software for the PC's must be created.

I would say that the only way I see them pulling off PC controls with the Firefly 2 is by selling their own USB bluetooth device that uses software coded by them to control the firefly 2 the same way the app would.

If they try to code only the software it forces users to buy their own bluetooth transmitters they will more than likely run into compatibility issues which in turn leads to more development time and costs.

All of that leads to a giant loss of $$$ unless they do it right. :2c:

Now hypothetically if they were to decide to use Wi-Fi in the Firefly 3 instead of or in addition to Bluetooth they could mirror their current app over to use Wi-Fi and have essentially unlimited possibilities for future software updates that include interaction between devices of any operating system including PC's :science:

@b0 I actually nerded out when I first got it, logging, and was getting an average of 40 hits per battery. I was mostly concerned about leaving the batteries on the dock overnight [Li-Ion and Lithium polymer are both sensitive in the first few charging/discharging stage, meaning, it's not good to fully charge or fully kill (0%) the batteries. Please do your own research--there's a lot online]. I will say, typically I would get less than 40 hits when I temp-stepped. When I ran on HIGH, with no temp stepping, it was just under 40 (oddly, I think it was 39 for multiple battery charges...) When I ran on MED, with no temp-stepping, I got close (someone said 80 if I remember right??) to the numbers others were quoting on one battery--roughly 40-60 hits.

@mitchgo61 -- I also had lousy experience with the FF2 dock. And I, too, bought an external (somehow found one!?) charger. I was going crazy trying to keep at least one battery charged solely using the dock charger. And, I smoke (read: vape) too much for that I guess. The dock limits your charging AND smoking (again, read: vaping) opportunities. #PITA

I've been wondering about this...I was a smoker vs. vaper since this top of the summer, and like you, have always adopted the colloquial "Inhale and hold the smoke in as long as you can" to get the most out of medication...But with the LSD, and me usually hitting the FF2 until the green light auto-shuts-off (@b0 -- this might have effected my hit count, as I usually pull until it auto-shuts-off) I often feel stressed, as in suffocated/feeling the need to breathe, holding in at the end....I think you're def on to something with the fresh air helping with absorption. I usually let go of the buttons right before the end or just hold until then, then, suck a gasp of fresh air (a la smoking) to get the vapor down in there.....anyways lol

I agree. Only thing is--I think WiFi eats batteries (read: high battery consumption). Totally agree, though. I'm often right by my computer when at home using the FF2.

Hello fellow fireflyers!

Just picked up a new black FF2 and thought I would share my experience so far. I am very experienced with the fly and used FF1 as my only toking device for about 2 years. I loved it.
  • the new plastic mouth piece is very disappointing. All I can taste is plastic which is a dam shame because FF1 had all metal mouth piece and the taste was fantastic.
  • so far I am not getting the rich thick dense vapor that I was able to produce almost everytime with FF1. I have been getting more whispy and much less dense vapor. I am flirting with new draw speeds, but so far what worked for me with FF1 is not working so well with FF2.
  • My draws seem much cooler which I am saying as a bad thing, with FF1 you could feel the heat start to build in your throat when the vapor started getting thick. With FF2, it feels ice cold and the vapor thickness never comes. In this case I miss the heat!!!
I see many people talking about how you can't expect large clouds from a FF, but I will tell you first hand that is wrong bigtime. I had 3 FF1 units and they all produced the biggest clouds I could have ever wanted. Right now I use a Cloud Evo as my go to machine, which is an incredible machine BTW, but I can honestly say that FF1 produced richer thicker vapor than even my Cloud evo, which sounds crazy but its true.

Obviously I purchased FF2 with high expectations considering I had such great results with FF1, but so far I have not been getting the same results as I did with FF1.

Hey there, this is my first post here, and thought I would chime in with what I recently discovered with the firefly2.

This does happen to be my first vaporiser. I more or less knew what to expect as far as super long inhales, from what I had read and saw in videos, and also understood that there was a learning curve to get a good vape. For a while I was hitting the greens in concentrate mode just to get a good hit. Then I learned a bit more and moved down to high. I've been relatively satisfied with the performance, though still felt that with the amount of high pressure sucking I do, the over all the vape production is lackluster, even if I still enjoy the high.

The other day for some reason I decided to see what happens when I pinch down the lid with my other hand while vaping, and BAMMM!! Now I'm getting really big hits, and the vape is warm! As much as it's supposed to be an airtight lid, when you are sucking in with that much pressure (enough to hear the wistle sound), then inevitably a lot for air is coming in through the lid. You realise this once you really seal it tight with pressure, and can feel the diference while doing it. I pinch the lid at the front, with my thumb underneath, soo now it's a two handed vape. Not sure if anyone else posted about this, but I had not seen it, and with this technique you do " feel the heat start to build in your throat when the vapor starts getting thick"

Do you guys think there is a difference between the consistency of the pre order ff2 and now the full production model? Have had mine for about 3 months and it has not been as consistent as of late, was thinking about selling my old one and getting a new one. any input would be appreciated

I think you're right, I even have caught myself doing this from time to time. It's funny how counter-intuitive it seems at first but once you feel that thick vapor from a slow draw you'll know it's working.

You are correct.

I'm also hoping for something along the lines of at least double or triple the battery life in the next model... An optimistic vape fanatic with chronic VAS can dream I guess

I think you kinda answered your own question. It's probably that your draw is a bit too hard which as you noted causes much more air to flow which cools down the heating chamber. Slower draw, hotter heating chamber. Too slow a draw and there isn't enough heated air flowing to heat the chamber. Gotta find that sweet spot :brow: (it's really not that hard to find tbh)

I do remember people saying they tried pressing down the lid and found it helped, but I think trying a little bit slower of a draw will probably help you immensely as well.

Possible but I kinda doubt it. If I were you i'd start with a good cleaning, ensure all of the heater holes are fully clean and unplugged, ensure the seal on the lid is still in good working order, take out the mouthpiece and ensure it isn't clogged.

Try some of that stuff and see if it makes a difference, if not then...

Welcome to FC!

Yeah you shouldn't have to squeeze the lid....make sure your seal is free of debris. (Mine has no difference between squeezing the lid, and not squeezing the lid.) The magnet should be strong enough to create a correct seal.

You may note many pages back this was discussed at length....a lot of "if I squeeze here, this weird thing happens". It was pretty amusing.

So it's 40 hits what most of the people is getting here from a full battery?

My unit is not even close...

FF2 arrived today, I was both excited and a little nervous due to the negative posts recently. Stuck it on charge for 40 mins and had a quick look at the box etc. First go visible vapor, same as the MFLB I had, now is this just me being lucky or is it because i'm an ex smoker? either way no complaints at all, works great.

b0

Cloudy...
When it's not acting weird I can get 70-plus hits from a full charge.

When it IS acting weird it can be as few as 20.

How you make it stop being weird? It seems like my range is between 25 and 30 hits so far...

But some good news! Still no answer about what was wrong with my unit but I got am email telling me I will get a refund for the custom fees and a new battery is sent to me. Hope it's a new one and this way I will be able to compare with my old one.

Right now I'm not sure if my battery is wrong or was damaged by the constant drainage it suffered, but it seems like something is still not right. But pretty happy to see that I got roughly the same number of hits using the unit in the same day or in the spam of 3 days, so it seems like there is no more battery drainage!

Now crossing fingers for the new battery to work properly and will be almost set!

'How many hits' is almost impossible to quantify between different users.

I know it's not an exact science and some people is gonna draw 15 seconds, others the full time and some will even need to take a longer draw; but a rough estimate will help
