Micro-dosing

Yeah that makes sense, I'll look for one.
Amazon. Name is something like Gemini.
Comes with tweezers and tiny measuring pan (which is really handy!)

Wait what? They don't!? Is there a reason for that
I kind of see their point.... 1) maybe lazy, 2) time consuming, 3) cost of containers.

I can split it into two strains.

However, this time I'm glad I didn't!
Do you have any recommendations for TBreak length?

I tested clean after about 3 months, though I'm pretty sure the effects of any THC had long since worn off.

I would only be guessing but would say if it's to lower tolerance, that there are plenty FCers here who have more experience than I.

Good points, I wasn't thinking about containers. I guess 2 isn't so bad though

Yeah I'm sure there's already a thread about it, just figured I'd ask since we were talking about it anyway. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction for the scale too

No worries. I've only had 2 Tbreaks in my 'career'. And the last one was 15x longer than this one... :(

It's an awesome scale! Really helps!

:o Damn! Is that a typo? I can't imagine what 0.005 would look like, is it even a single calyx?

In my MFLB, .1 will about fill the trench so I sort of divide down based on that and .01 will get me a good few puffs and get me decently stoned, you'd be surprised. It's all about keeping that tolerance down haha

It really takes nowhere near that long to get your receptors to recover. For most a week will do, 2 weeks - a month if you're a really heavy user. What's really hard to break is the mentality. Getting your tolerance low is easy, but keeping it low is hard. It's hard to put .01 in the vape and not want to increase that pinch size a little, until you realize you're back to regularly vaping .1 a month later. That definitely happens to me often since I don't weight it out regularly.

For me, my tolerance always falls quickly but I didn't vape for 3 days this week and that was enough to lower my tolerance a good bit from .1 giving me good effects back down to .025ish giving me similar effects and leaving me feeling much better all around. I would suggest starting with just a 3 or 4 day break and see where that leaves your tolerance and try to keep it down from there. Most people try to reward themselves after a tbreak by blasting off to outerspace for the first session, which is great, but sets you up for falling back to a habit of heavier doses.

Wow! Props! My tolerance is a bit high right now since I'm pretty new to vaping and have been over indulging, but I discovered the microdosing ways in my smoking days. I was excited at how much more efficient vaporizing has been, and how I'll be able to use even less for my single hit doses. Never thought it would be that much more efficient! I'm getting a vapman soon so once that arrives I'll probably test it out a bit before t-breaking, then I'll see if I can't get similar results. Although I don't have a 3 decimal point scale. Hmm I have to guess with those numbers... about 2 or 3 months? Btw how long was your break?

Very good milligram scale with calibration weights and other accessories. I own one and am very pleased with it. If you want to accurately measure to centigrams (e.g. .03) then you need precision to milligrams to give any confidence in the centigram accuracy.

@Vaked420 Do you use the finishing grinder? or some other method of super fine grind? I see a lot of people who say .1 fills their MFLB, but I feel like mine takes closer to 0.2, unless I use a coarser grind. I've never weighed it though. Must be differences in bud density / moisture content.

That's how I always felt when I was smoking, anything longer than a few days to a week seemed to give diminishing returns. I was actually arguing with a friend of mine about this recently, he was trying to convince me to go 3 months. I'm planning to do a week probably.

@Baron23
Do you know if different scales are significantly more or less accurate? The one DDave suggested is pretty much half the price of that one

Honestly it's taken me more than a week before, but never more than two. What I have done tho that I highly prefer is for one month to vape no more than once a week. It takes a decent amount of self control, but isn't hard to manage if you have a busy life and decent self control. And those once a week vapes will be pure bliss. Even if your physical tolerance doesn't change, the joy of vaping after building the hype all week is a fun change from it being a more regular habit. At least in the short term haha

RUDE BOY

Space is the Place
Over a period of a couple weeks (last summer) I brought my consumption down from 2-2 1/2 grams a day to between .05 and .30 with no t-break, all I did was limit myself to vaping no more then .20 a day for a week or so and my tolerance seemed to reset itself.

... And I was a pretty heavy smoker from 1973 through 2009 when I discovered vaporizers that worked but still went through 2-3 Oz a month vaping. Now an Oz seems to last forever.

I am mainly using now for medical purposes and the smaller doses work as well as a few grams did, but once or twice a month I'll recreationally do up a gram in a night and be as high or higher then when I was vaping grams of herb daily.

At $19.99, it seems like a real bargain--if it is solid

Nice, I remember for the first year or two I smoked I would only smoke approximately once a week, on the weekends. Great memories! That is the best way to use it recreationally IMO, but after discovering how well cannabis microdoses with a glass one hitter, it was too cost effective to pass up the medicinal benefits. I've wanted a vaporizer since I found out about them and this site, around the time I started smoking, but it wasn't until the negative effects of combustion started to be all I was feeling that I forced myself to get one.:goon::whip:

I see a long, fruitful road of microdoses in my future

That's the scale I was referring to. Just didn't have link handy, thanks @MinnBobber

Comes with everything needed and calibration is easy.

EDIT: forgot to mention a great feature... the box! The box that the scale comes in is solid and had a magnetic lid. Easy to use storage of the scale and associated pieces!

0.001 g accuracy would be nice. Wish I would have gone right to this level.
0.1 g seemed like it would suffice but...
0.01 g worked better but...
0.001 would be even better.

Typical session for me is about 0.013, where 4 sessions total about 0.05 g

Agreed! My first attempt at microdosing was 'ok', but only because I wasn't able to accurately measure dosage. I had a .01g scale.

Problem with a .01g scale is that you can't tell the difference between .01g and .019g. So an almost double micro-dose shows up the same as a single microdose.

Typical session for me is about 0.013, where 4 sessions total about 0.05 g
0.05g is a typical Monday - Thursday daily dose as well.
3 x 0.005g
1 x 0.035g

My weekend doubling that does not seem to impact tolerance on weekdays.

Very nice being able to cut loose on the weekends and only use 0.1g

No, I really can't say anything about accuracy of these scales off the top of my head. All I know is that I have bought ones in the past that were 1/2 the price and still needed to buy this one. I also note that there are many milligram scales out there that are much more expensive, like an order of magnitude more money. These are true scientific scales.

Along with this wide range in price is an equal wide range of performance. To be accurate to a milligram, scales should have precision at least a decimal place beyond milligrams. But, consider.....is how much performance do you need out of this scale? If you can meet your needs at 1/2 the price then that is what you should do, yes?

While not always true, I believe its generally true that you get what you pay for. I bought the scale I referenced NOT to weigh out milligrams but to be confident of its accuracy to centigrams. To me, trying to measure dosages to a greater precision than 100ths of a gram is right up there with debating how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. YMMV

Unless you're Ddave doing .005 gram bowls haha. For reference I have a .01 gram scale that isn't the most accurate, I would trust it to be accurate +- .01. I weighed out .08 and eyeballed fractions of that nug to get an estimate of my bowl size. For me I'm not too concerned with more precision, but if I had the money I would be haha. I didn't realize until ddave was talking about measuring each bowl that I realized it's much easier to track my consumption and keep it reasonable if I actually know how much I'm consuming vs. guessing

Just did .01g of a strain my dispensary called Killa Gorilla. Looked it up, couldn't find it. Also, know it's got to be named wrong... this stuff should be called WipeOut!

Dayum! :mmmm:

*** Note, maybe this should be posted in the What's in my vape now thread? But it's not in there now, so nope. Or a strain related thread? Couldn't find it by name on internet, so again nope. Possible great candidate for the Mystery Strain thread, that's for sure!

Hey ddave I was curious if your .005 weekday dose is once daily or is it a multiple times a day thing? Ive been holding my sessions down to around .01 or so, but I've had trouble with having less than like 5 or 6 of those sessions a day hahaha I still highly prefer that over blasting .1 or .2 in one go and then .5 when i wanted to go all out. In retrospect what I thought was tolerance was really just getting used to being too high haha

Hey @Vaked420

In all honesty, that depends.

There are crazy busy days where work or life dictates only time for one 0.005g session.

Then on the other end of that are the days when I can get 3 of those sessions in.

Average, 1-2 x 0.005g sessions on weekdays. Nightly dose 0.035g on weekdays.

Weekends if doing activities that permit it, the daytime done can be doubled to 0.01g a evening dose to 0.05g or 0.07g.

Cool thing is at those levels, so far I haven't built up a tolerance. From a weekend dose level, I can go back to weekday dose without perceptible loss of effects.

Good luck on your microdosing! Very worthwhile indeed when an 3.5g can last weeks....

I guess as soon as you hit less than 0,1 a day you won't build up tolerance.

I went from 0.25 to 1 a day recently and am trying to get back down.

I don't measure each dose, but I grind with a space case and use a dabber tool... the little tiny spoon side. I give two or three of those and go high heat.... One solid long draw, medicated.

Ya that's what I've noticed. I was keeping it to less than .05 per day and even now that I'm up to 5 or 6 sessions that add up to .1 per day my tolerance still isn't really going up. This is awesome! I think down to about .05-.1 per day the saying less is more really holds up! I'm definitely getting more stoned more consistently and I get way less side effects/cost. Also as I'm turning 21 soon in Washington I'll more than likely make the transition to legal herb which will be quite a bit more expensive, but I will have access to ridiculous variety!

I plan to start working with micro's this Friday. This will be my first time using this method I've already taken a week off completely.

I'll be using the take one micro approach then waiting 3-5 min. after the first pull for effect if none one more micro. Then doing this 3 times a day. On day six I'll step the micro up by another half of what ever dosage I've been using.

From what I've researched this will guarantee those first time blasts we all remember and cherish and hold so close to our dear little cannabis loving hearts. Me likee me excited!

Kudos to the human body resetting itself and producing more available cannabinoid receptors and kudos for nature keeping us healthy and happy while working so well with our human meat suits.

Does anyone have a pic of an 0.05 pile ground up? Or any amount 0.2 or less. I dont have a scale. I saw a pic in this thread of 0.04's but im looking for a closer-up pic with maybe a coin next to it for reference. this will help me determine what i actually vape per day.
