Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

kellya86

Herb gardener...
I held off on sending back the EVO until after the bank holiday, or its just gonna sit in a post office not getting used.....

I will send it in first thing Tuesday morning...

I have to say, it is still impressing me everytime... and as my fresh harvest cures out slightly, the taste just gets better....

My routine is this....
Turn EVO on 12 o'clock for about 15 mins till it's touch hot at the top...
Then I insert my loaded elb...
Wait about 1 minute....
Have a purge draw to clear the empty air and get the juices flowing...
Then have a massive draw....
Remove and stir basket....
Turn to 1 o'clock....
Wait 1 minute....
Go again...
Then I dump the avb and it's a nice even, golden colour....
Then I switch it off and relax........

So my EVO never sees max temp, nowhere near, will the help prolong the life of my EVO?

Any issues with my method????

@XeroRespect I'm glad iv influenced you to go EVO, I'm so glad I did it, even with my slight issues....

Depending on how much water you have I'm the ht, you can change at what pressure the whistle kicks in.... so if I fill it a bit above the slits, I can draw a bit harder before the whistle, just an observation....

I don't see the point in this step. I think you are just allowing the terpenes to evaporate.

Good point, maybe I shouldnt do this...
I was used to letting the herb heat soak a little in the eq.....

I usually leave it in at least 30 seconds to let it soak in some heat. I thought this doesn't cook/evaporate the bud.

The glass gets quite hot & this heat will transfer to the ELBs. Terpenes evaporate at low temperatures & the hotter it is the faster the rate.

By 'heat soaking' ELB you may get vapor a second or two earlier but that hot convective air will bring a cool ELB up to temperature very quickly.

I don't think this really does anything. I mean, if it doesn't cook the bud then what is the point in the first place? It's not really gonna start warming up until you draw.

There's really no reason to avoid the highest temp setting AFAIK. Some of the VXL people, at least, vape their concentrates at that temp. It's probably faster to set it to the high setting, wait for it to go green, then go back down to noon for a decent heat-soak. You'll still have that first primer-draw that's not so milky but after that it's ready. If you prefer to wait longer (some do) then it won't hurt anything.

EDIT: As far as leaving the ELBs in or taking them out: unless you're going to be taking long breaks in between rips I really don't think this makes any significant difference.

possibly, but I honestly wouldn't worry about the EVO seeing max temp it's designed to use it.
Max can be used to burn off the residue left in the bottom of the nails.

Any issues with my method????
None whatsoever if that's your preference :)
There's really no need for warming the herbs before hitting though
Only time I ever leave my herbs to warm up is if I'm distracted :leaf:

I personally go with a 5 minute warm up sometimes 10. If 5 I'll usually turn it to max temp than back down to about 1 when I am ready. I am sure not keeping it at max temp will help prolong the life a bit but I personally don't know. I don't preheat my Elbs though. When I am ready to hit I just put my elb in , take my hit and remove the elb right after each hit. My 1st hit is always the lightest vapor but right after that 1st hit its all huge clouds. Sometime I will take a primer hit with no elb in but not sure if that's doing much , possibly helping heat the glass bamboo up a bit. Sorry you have to send yours back so early but def glad you are enjoying it .

All comments taken on board, nice to know my method is about right, and that I'm not doing anything wrong that may harm it....

So who has got the oldest EVO here, how long will this vape live.? The eq is basically, potentially immortal...
Once the warranty has passed, can I buy parts, (like bamboo),and fix this vape myself..

Will be cool to see who chimes in regarding the oldest EVO.

As far as repairs, scroll down to the end of the following page under "Other Information" and you'll find repair costs for each part: https://www.vapexhale.com/pages/warranty-information

@Stu might have one of the oldest, but @stonemonkey55 has the oldest! He's the creator!
I run my EVO from8am till10 pm daily and it normally lasts over a year. As long as its under warranty they fix it as long as you don't rinse it in the sink or decapitate it. Then you'll pay

I would like to hope mine lives more than a year....

if you put an hydratube on the EQ (and crank the fan) then you will be surprised at how bad the EQ can be! It would certainly test the EVO - for sure!

Just did this, without the fan (I feel it just dilutes the vapour), at 200 with a bit of heat soak, milked up instantly, much quicker than the evo initially, (due to the heatsoak I presume), but unlike the evo, it then faded off as I seemed to overpower the vapour production...

Result, I got a huge hit, but it was nowhere near as tasty as from the evo, it was harsh tasting.....

And structurally fragile.... won't be repeating....

I just took a tasty dab in my Evo,
Yes I just took a tasty dab in my Evo,
And now I'm burnin' the nail clean,
Burnin' the nail clean,
Oh yes I'm burnin' the nail clean in my Evo :)

Yep, that's exactly me right about now . . . . :freak:

Whistle while you work, folks.

:peace:

**EDIT** Sorry!
The EVO QUARTS NAIL'S = WOW!

I'm lost in the solar system!
Maybe 2 would be fine?
1 downstairs
1 upstairs

I would put that temp at 230 to get that real badass kick (but then again that's just me!!)

Anyway, just get me right, by that I mean- I AM NOT saying the Arizer is better than the EVO, per se!
Indeed I rarely use ours, but as I said previously and will continue to say, the Arizer EQ can certainly do its thing, and I whilst I actually agree the Hydratube is more suited to the EVO, as that what its primarily manufactured for. All that I am saying, for the avoidance of doubt, is that Hydratube can be used with the Arizer EQ for GOOD results, although I KNOW that the waterpiece most suited to the Arizer EQ is actually the vacuum one.

Btw, I tried to post a few pics, but as I said before, all the messing about to upload pics from my PC, just ain't worth it! Besides, and more to the point, I am AGAINST posting any of my things via a third party - who maybe (or not!) fronting for the Feds, (like Facebook et al)! So I'll apologize for no pics but at least I've explained my self!!

Anyway just to say; I have had my EVO for a while now and I know from empirical testing, that it's good at what it does, (when it does it) which for me is mainly only evening/night work! But so is the EQ and the notwithstanding the Mighty, Plenty and the Volcano - which I am about to load up right now!

I guess it all comes down to the knack and technique!

Not saying;), Just saying:2c:, Without saying:)!

Many of us turn the unit on at max and then turn it down when it hits green. There are no issues doing this. This will get the unit to the ready point faster. If your ABV is golden brown, there quite possibly are some CBD's remaining. You might give a try at taking the first two hits at 1, turn up to 3, stir, and hit; you very well may then get 2 more pulls. Your ABV will be a solid brown. Btw, I wait a while before I take the hits at 3. That way my first 2 hits are more THC heavy, and the second 2 hits mostly CBD's. Makes for a nice continuum in the experience.

I've had my unit since Nov 2013, prior to public release from one of the earliest batches. So it's nearing 3 yrs. I know that @Stu and a few others have units a little older, but not by a lot. This is not counting beta units, given that they were not the finalized design. Mine continues to perform flawlessly.

I agree with your assessment, however for what it's worth this is my take:

The "Q" is pretty amazing with a @DDave kit.
However I don't use bags and never have.

The EVO is like a BENTLEY compared to a RENAULT?

I love cars so please forgive my analogy!

@kellya86 I have custom made HYDROTUBES made for my EVO (CLOUD) 4 years ago.
Finally got one. Funny because my wife was tried of me breaking GonG's everyday.
Since she is from FRANCE we have CASTLE FLOORS (DURANGO MEXICO CHEAP). (carpet is uncivilized to her).
She bought me the EVO because of the Stainless Steal Baskets. She has never par took of CANNABIS? However she supports me doing it? I added the QUARTS NAILS and I love them!
Plus I love effect however flavor is also important. The EVO fit's my life perfectly.

I hope you find a use for the EVO as I have?

What's going on, Ataxian? Vaping something new today? Look at all the extra verbiage!

I had a little adventure with my Symbiartic Chandelier. I decided to finally use some PBW on it because of a little spot in the lattice/honeycomb that persisted for months. I was wary of the stains PBW can leave with too much dwell time but it worked really well, almost instantly in fact. It's pretty cool how sparkling it gets glass.

Before I was done with the cleaning I placed it back on the Hydrafoot where it promptly locked for the first time. I don't know if it was the liquid or the PBW but I was able to finally solve it after finding a tip here of FC.com. I used a wooden spoon to tap around the circumference of the foot and it popped out with ease.

It's nice to live in the internet age when so many problems can be solved with a quick search.

Thanks, guys.

I use PBW when a piece is new.
ALOCOX as it gets older.
I bought some GRUNGE online to try on a old piece full of GUNK on the perk.
Clean glass improves the flavor of the vapor.

When I make a piece custom I fix the HYDROFOOT to the piece.
If the HYDROFOOT is detachable I'll break it!
I would buy one off the shelf however they don't offer attached HYDROFOOT?

After my nap and EVO session I'll post a photo?
I'm currently reading a book on writing (non-fiction) it say's, "not to waste words"?
I have a lot to learn!

Mine is 3 years old as of Thanksgiving. I use it daily. It stays hot most of the time and has never failed. It has been sent in twice, once because the bamboo got loose due to a little pressure from some noob lips getting a little too excited (can't blame them, can you?) and another time just for an updated bamboo and firmware. Both voluntary, neither necessary, both were an impressive improvement.

Early on, I had a much more restricted bamboo. I thought I wanted that forever. I'm so glad for the added airflow.

I've purchased a few pieces of glass over the years but my daily driver is the early bird special turbine on top of the hydrobomb, or is it the hydra foot? Dunno any more. I fucking love this thing more than ever. It's still the king.

Only thing I want is a VXL portable. Seriously. You simply cannot improve on this rig.

Hola FC @Stu :
I had the pleasure to be, in a kind of strong earthquake, at Stu's place at Cali. We had an awesome time with @Buildozer , we shared stories and great times. I'll like to see those "dragon clouds" videos again please!!!!
Is it possible to save the link?????
Even after your "Devastatorgate" you kept your coolness ;)
You helped me in many ways, and you introduced me to, in my opinion, at my moment, the most versatile loading/dabbing tool, as cheap as, shipping probably more expensive than one unit itself.
If any of you guys are going to order, go for a bunch and give them to your friends.

First photo is a comparison of size/load.... No need for extra explanation right?? ;)

Here's a photo of loading the tool...

This is why I like it so much, it fits perfectly inside the ELB... Just dump it there, no spills...

Load it and ready to go... One hitter...

Enjoy your weekend and stay vaped my friends...
OMG, that rubber chicken is perfect as a stopper  Where did you get it?

How'd you clean the bamboo air-way when it gets messed up?
I spilled some of the contents of an ELB into the airway, and the draw is cut-off and i get the green flashing light after a short tight draw...
The air-way isn't visibly blocked, i'm not sure what to do.
