The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

CuckFumbustion

Lo and Behold! The transformative power of Vapor.
I don't own my EQ anymore, but when I did, I always wondered, is there anyone who has thrown a hydrotube on an EQ? All you'd need is an 18mm/18mm adapter, and you'd be good to go!
I Water above the EQ makes me nervous. I definitely wouldn't use a short 18mm F/F adapter with anything hydro. :2c: I've broken 3 due to heat shock and dropping them during normal use. They don't handle heat stress and tend to break around the center width and end up making 2 broken whip adapters. :D

I guess if the EVO hydrotube itself can be suspended or sit it's own weight on the top ring of the EQ.:hmm:

I receive my cloud EVO with hydratube (turbine) tomorrow, I'll let you know.....

CuckFumbustion (may I call you CF?)...many thanks for the response, but now I'm a little confused (natural state for me...).
Hello @Anna Thetical :wave:and welcome to the thread. You can call, er... type me CF. sure. So, Any luck with your EQ? Feel like you are getting it? Are you trying elbow/basket packing? Do you think there is anything wrong with the EQ you have?
Oh any try smaller amounts, because there is less to heat up and will help with heat absorption.

I've never had to replace the glass cover, but had the EQ apart several times. Often more than necessary, because I forgot to plug the ribbon cable to the board back in after putting all the screws back in. :bang:
I've been searching for a bag valve and found this one on amazon, thoughts? Looks like stock hose will fit right on and has easy on/off valve and quick connect fittings for mouthpiece .
Camelbak HydroLinkTM Filter Adapter,

About one month into owning the extreme q and it has been great. Thank you to everyone for the information provided. I upgraded the first bowl by drilling out the center, then upgraded to 18m female bowl on ebay, then kept everything else stock. Works well for me...
Glad you found something that works for you! :nod:So you modded the stock cyclone bowl. I used my cyclone bowl with the chipped out center as a bag adapter and I cut my whip hose in half. It has better intake I felt plus you have a second whip hose for another project. 3 upgrades out of the box! A few other EQers like the adapter for bag whips. Found a Camelbak adapter in case I feel like expanding on that idea. :sherlock:

OH MY GOD.

Thank you SO much everybody, but especially Cuckfumbustion and kellya86. CLOUDS!

I'm too high to type.

EQ, I love you...(there's a song in there somewhere...!)

And thanks for having me, fuckcombustion!

...floating away...

Edited to add: ...okay, still high, but relatively coherent now. *That* completely works. Arizer should update their manual to include that...it's just so counter-intuitive! That was definitely the best wake'n'bake of recent memory. And it's TAR-FREE now, too, folks! :) (That last is a nod to the last great era of cigarette commercials, where several companies would make similar claims.)

Your very welcome, I'm just happy you see the power of the q now....
I love the post of realisation when people crack it...

Now there is the @DDave mod to consider.....

I love my eq, even though it hasn't been used much lately, due to receiving and evo and vapcap last week....
Last night I put the hydratube from the EVO, onto a heat soaked eq at 200....

It milked up quicker than the EVO would, due to a bit of conduction in the heat soak. But couldn't sustain the thickness of vapour for the whole draw, as EVO gets thicker, the eq gets thinner..

But still my point is that it performed admirably.....

Sure it didn't taste anywhere near as nice as the EVO vapour, and was a bit dryer/harsher tasting, but still, I love the q....

My EVO has to go back this week due to a slight defect....

But I'm not so sad, cause I know the eq can carry the flame for a week.....

Still love the eq....

Glad you have a tool to fight combustion with. :D
Thanks for the feedback! Let us know how things go.

Now there is the @DDave mod to consider.....
It is the shortest upgrade path with less time and money involved sourcing parts. @DDave continues to upgrade his kits with better screens, wands, tongs etc much like EQ continues to upgrade.

DD update - Have a cylindrical tube shaped glass downstem that I attached to a F/F adapter with silicone hose and have the stem inside my D020-d working as a condenser. (The inside of the stem is funnel shaped. which is perfect for this. btw)The D020-d has a lot of inside volume, so I came up with this workaround with the condenser setup. The F/F and cylindrical d-stem work as one piece with the silicone hose strip connecting the two. So my water piece has a female 18mm connection that carbs easier when I pull out the gooseneck hose. Less inside volume, vapor gets condensed just before hitting the water.

Oh, I have a 14mm wand attached to the mouthpiece of the D020-d and a hookah tip.:D To slow down the draw a little. youi can draw as hard as you like. The EQ will keep it's heat in the basket with this setup without cooling it down. :peace:

Wow!! So that's what smoke was like. My EQ combusted a load while using the new EQ balloon setup from Arizer. I figured out why it happened....the screen came loose and fell in the weed, so it over heated and combusted.
I hate smoke. So I lowered the temp a few notches just to make sure it doesn't happen again....

I recently purchased an extreme q and I love it! I noticed after some use a wax has slightly coated the whip. Would this wax be worth it to collect? Also could I condense vapor to make more of it by running the fan on the whip into a container of some sort?

You can definitely clean the oils out of the whip and reclaim it....

Once a month I eat a spoonful of the oil, and blend into the couch for a day....

To do this, just buy some good quality iso alcohol (99.9 preferably), rinse it through the whip, then evaporate the iso, then you get left with some redish brown, stoney oil....

Owned the EQ for over a week now (nearly two) and have to say that I love it.:leaf:
Packing the elbow results in better clouds, but the bud lasts less(at least that is my impression). Also love the balloons, nice to use with friends.
Very satisfied with this purchase, and wanted to thank you all for the help given with this topic.
Does anyone know any reliable shop where to buy the Ddave mod in UK? If not, as soon as I can I will buy it from ebay.

Little tip: (not sure if anyone already mentioned it) Before starting my session, I usually warm the components turning the vape at 220/230C and attach all the equipment needed(cyclone bowl and whip or glass piece for balloons) for only 5 or maximum 10 minutes, then, being very careful as the components are very hot, pack either the cyclone bowl or elbow and wait for no longer than 5 minutes for the flower to produce vapor, and you are ready to go.

Firstly, good move on buying an eq. It's a brilliant vape, and has, and still does, serve me well...

I'm glad to see you are enjoying it, and getting good results, some people take a while to get the hang of the q, like you say, heatsoak is important....

I live in the UK too, I just sold a brand new eq with ddave kit included...would have been perfect for you...

I highly recommend the ddave mod. It really does transform this vape into a powerfull extractor....

Have you tried using the whip instead.? It can be more powerfull than bags, and quieter....
Yes, I use both methods but prefer bags. I ground down most of the ridge on the inside of the bowl and it doesn't really seem to speed up bag filling. I can wait for the fill but bags are noisy when my spouse and I are watching a movie.

Yes it does. DDave's mod improves efficiency and opens up the vapor path, which seems to help bag filling. I use a camelbak hydralok valve. Filling a bag takes around 3 minutes, but the vapor is pretty dense.
I grabbed one of the camelbak hydralok and didn't like it. I found the end cap from some large syringes fit over the end of the bag mouthpiece snugly and work perfectly to seal the bag.

I've got some herb that will cloud like crazy and other herb that gets the job done but is very wispy even at a higher temp. Of the 6 strains I currently have they are all different for the clouds they produce at a given temp.

To warm up the EQ I turn it to 230c and turn the fan on. This warms the unit up in less than 5 minutes. Anyone know where to get bags that are not so damn noisy?
I've been getting 'Vapebags' from puffitup.com 3 times already after looking around 3 different times for best deal on the internet. Best price, fast delivery and friend/member of the FC community.
With my setup,. I can use bags as a finisher to get the last bit of vapor out of an elbow pack without straining myself.

'Vapebags' - the brand are better then stock in several ways for me. Narrower neck, thick crease around the edge and less wrinkle forming material. The crease helps the bag fill nicer even laying on it's side.

Read of this method several times. Been rec'd to me by one user. I'd like to see any pics of this method/mod.

I have never tried bag vaping?
Still haven't taken the plunge eh? Do you have any sort of bag attachment ready? Are you willing to try it once or get some vapebags like I've mentioned. You have the @DDave kit. Just need to figure how you want your setup. I missed out on the newer glass attachment from Arizer and made my own. (the gooseneck mentioned in my sig. Love it.)

The best bag fill is when you get the essence of the materials you wish to vape is in a single bag (or 3) YMMV. :haw: Does anybody do single hit extraction in a single bag? @ataxian , if you have all the parts for bags, just ask FC and me :sherlock: for the rest. Worst case you can have them around when you can't handle whips that afternoon. It is an alternative to whips and water and is nice to pass to someone inexperienced instead of your favorite hydro piece. Bags save glass in group sessions. so some wise FCers have mentioned often in the thread.

Think of a bag a a 'lungful' of vapor. Extracting the full flavor of the materials and mixing in a bag before ingesting.

I forgot the exact temp that your materials will catch fire and combust at. Perhaps 232c? I've have danced to the edge and see single fleck turn red and the rest kick out grey smoke then bwoosh! All carbon :cuss: Time to grab the sea salt and ISO to get the nasty taste out.

LSS. I try not to preheat forget and place the wand in before 230C. Like say my desired temp is 225c. So it goes in the bowl at 230c. That's as close to the edge as I get. There will be a wider scorch circle and possible aftertaste. But not combustion. I like using the 230 and 220 buttons on my remote. It's a no brainer too.

My turbo method is have the bowl and wand preheat on full. My Bowl will fuse to the heater cover if I leave it like that for too long. :D Set the desired temp. While the EQ drops, pack the wand. (I straw draw.) then at say 230c drop it in let it continue to desired temp + 1m. Then GTG. With a toasty aftertaste.

Yes! 'Reclaim' is a subject unto itself. :whoa:You are essentially extracting using controlled heat as a method right? There are probably several forums on the subject here at FC. I imagine. :hmm:

Chose a different whip hose and adapter setup. There is more silicone tubing choices that are temp resistant that are the dimensions that might be more durable and be used at the shortest length and desired width from my D020-d to my EQ and have them sit tight next to each other for the smallest convenient footprint I can use. Less fumbling when turbo heating my bowl and refilling. :peace:

I mostly have a water path !
Still no bag experience?

We smoked joints before bags!
I don't use a whip but once a year !

Sounds like you have a lot to experience then. :D Say have you taken apart your EQ?

Bags can be easier on the lungs than whips. YMMV. Plus, Without filtering the vapor through water and loosing some of the actives.
I have filled a bag and hooked it up to water. Like drawing through a lung instead of a hard device. But bags can be drawn at the persons leisure without being tied to the machine/vape. Pass it around like a joint:myday: like back in the dag. But you can bogart it longer. :haw: Off tangent - Just how old are vaporizers that fill bags anyway? I remember that analogy being around for a while before I had any understanding of vaporizers. how old is the EQ?
I'm just learning?
I'm always learning. ;) Just delve deeper @ataxian Remain curious. Like some of the people you read from. :peace:

Thanks @CuckFumbustion !

I only SMOKE JOINTS staring in 1970.

When guy's were trying BonG's 76 or so?
I wouldn't stand it so JOINTS (ZIG ZAGS) only for the longest time.
Walking in fields for COLAS we just SMOKED.

When I quit CORPORATE life I started VAPORIZING and surprised by the great FLAVOR'S obtained.

Never saw bags even in EUROPE just BEER and WINE.
I was grossed out when I saw people in EUROPE mixing CANNABIS with TOBACCO?
Wasn't a smoker?
I did learn to enjoy wine.

CANNABIS is easy to grow and vaporizing is very CIVILIZED
We never had to pay for it?
I put the Q in rotation sometimes. (work's better with @DDave kit)

But hey we learn everyday!

Bag's I never tried?

SMALL mouth pieces and water path have become a new thing for me about 5 years ago.
Can't combust now? (taste is horrible)?
VAPOR = CIVILIZED

some have used camelback adapters with their bags as a shut off valve. Read about it often never seen a pick.

DD update bought this recently: 1/2" I.D. x 7/8" O.D. Silicone Tubing Extra Thick Wall- Food Grade High Temp
http://www.ebay.com/itm/291764140839?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

I was planning to make a special project out of this like he gooseneck, but wait... I have two near 45 degree adapters lying around and was able to plug each end into that extra thick walled tubing that just arrived. Like the tubing was a female adapter itself. (With some effort.) Put an elbow screen in the 45 adapter that looks more bent. (They were bought in a clean fancy head shop. Don't even know the type of glass.) Plug the other end into the D020-D and GTG. Pretty airtight too. Fan setting 3 on the EQ pushed the water a full inch in the water piece. The tubing is thick and rigid for as expected by it's thickness. Works great otherwise. For reclaim, I could stick a rubber cork in each end and fill it with ISO and agitate it, I figure.

The amount of cloud I can pull from this setup with the right temp settings is amazing. KIM this is a full 18mm x 1ft pathway from EQ to D020-D.
