I'm starting to wonder why many of us (it would seem) only have interest in one of nature's healing herbs.
Do you really wonder that vtac? If you do, then you're not vaporizing enough (or high enough quality) Cannabis. :p

Haha we love it for just what it IS. That's all I can really say on the subject.

If you want to know what herb is and what this thing is all about, then welcome it into your body and your life. Then you'll know. I'm sure it's different for everyone, but in some way you'll know. Some people choose to walk away after that, for whatever reasons in their life and history that make it feel just so, but no other person is ever going to be able to GIVE you that first experience you can take judgment from...this you've got to touch for yourself-- failing that your opinions regarding Cannabis are unfounded, regardless of how much scientific datum you've combed over (this is just my opinion, of course). So to put it simple we love IT for just what IT is. Put a label on that if you'd like to try to, but for me it's as elusive a thing as the "normal" state of consciousness I (we) was born into. Herb is a special place you find yourself, and so many people love it and give it welcome into their life for a reason; it simply won't be I who tries to hold that reason in his hands.

That being said, I know what you mean...and I'm what you might class as a "plant person"--a lover of all things vegetal--so I have some personal interest in exploring other herbs. I just highly doubt we're ever going to find the next Cannabis: there is almost certainly no such thing and people need to stop looking for a Cannabis "replacement" (not saying that's what we're doing here--since it's not--it's just an attitude I often see lofted around sundry smokeable ethnobotanicals). In fact, what needs to happen is we need to focus our energy on the other part of our society that wants Cannabis repressed. Change opinions about Cannabis rather than trying to replace it with something "safer". Cannabis is special and there's no replacement for something unique... Just like we've all lost lovers, well you can't just replace your lover...you never can, despite the efforts of a lifetime. They were unique in your life, just as every person after them will be. Cannabis is unique, just like every other plant is unique.

There is surely more interesting and valuable plants like this to be discovered, so this sort of research you guys are doing is really awesome. I ought to try it more than I do now...I read lots, but barely ever actually try most "questionable" ethnobotanicals. I thinks that I loves IT far too much for that...

So to make a tragically long diatribe blissfully short: We love Cannabis simply for what it is, and nothing else. There are surely other plants out there worthy of adoration, but that Cannabis has something special about it which many many people have turned to is almost unquestionable. Glad to see threads like this and that people are doing the leg work into new plants (surely they deserve the attention), but don't expect to find another Cannabis (not accusing anyone of thinking this either, just getting it out there): you might find something MIND-BLOWING, but it's not going to be like Cannabis. It too will be unique. Keep yer heads open people, see ya there.

PS: Excuse me if that post feels very removed from the flow of this discussion, but for some inane reasons I felt it had to be said, here and now. If you disagree and think those sentiments were unnecessary, please proceed with telling me otherwise
More than I bargained for there. :D
Do you really wonder that vtac?
To be honest, not really. :/ I've never really had a desire to try other herbs, and the commercial blends are somewhat off-putting to me, especially those legal buds you see advertised in mags. But reading these threads, seeing the interest, kind of makes me wonder if I'm being too closed minded on the idea- seems hypocritical considering my respect for nature. I don't expect anything even close to a replacement, even something to compliment the mj seems like a strange notion. But again, that's where I question my reasoning. Hope that doesn't make my last post seem insincere.

Glad to see threads like this and that people are doing the leg work into new plants (surely they deserve the attention),
What I meant to say. ^

Edit, added in your full quoted post, took me so long to finish this I was 2 posts late! Must be tired, goodnight. :ko:

I say don't knock it 'til you've tried it. ;)

I, and others, aren't looking for a marijuana replacement. However, having access to a vaporizer allows us to consume stuff we otherwise wouldn't think twice about.

Smoking this shit? Never. Gross.

Vaping it? Why not. It works. Throw down 20 bucks and you got a 6-month supply of cheap thrills. Not to mention a lot of the effects have certain medicinal benefits which would appeal to many.

I've managed to give up tobacco (I live in the UK and was a heavy spliff smoker)... and I have not found a substitute for tobacco that produces the effect you want.

In my opinion, you basically have to quit tobacco... And deal with it.

That being said, the 'something missing' that most of us experience when we quit combusting (especially when mixing with tobacco), definitely disappears after a few days of quitting tobacco.

Basically, for the first few days you have to be completely committed to not combusting, and it helps in the first few days to be in a situation where you can keep hitting your vape until you are incapacitated and completely stoned: it helps you realise that vaping still can get you high. After a few days/ a couple weeks you won't miss nicotine.

I should also add, something I absolutely recommend to anyone who is trying to quit smoking is to read 'The Easy Way to Quit Smoking' by Alan Carr. When I was trying (many times) to give up fags, people suggested the book and I thought "bollocks, how is a book going to help me give up fags"... And then I read it! It definitely worked on me.

And you just made me realise it's a year to the day that I Fucked Combustion and quit nicotine!

You can quit fags, defo try the book

Peace

No problem buddy, and good luck. Tobacco is actually quite easy to give up, despite what everyone thinks. It's all about how you think about it really, and that's where that book helps.

I'm in west wales pal. And yes, I have more than one vape- I started out with the vaponic, then MFLB, then I got an enano for at home use (which I hardly ever use at the mo). Then I got the lotus, EQ and Vapcap... I've been hit hard by VAS (Vaporiser Aquisition Syndrome).

However my advice to you at the moment would be to go for a Vapcap. Its currently my favourite and most used vape, and to me it's the most similar to smoking, in terms of using it, and effects. You heat it up with a torch/turbo jet lighter, it clicks when it's ready to go. Very simple, and very nice to use. You can get the basic glass Vapcap for £30 from vape fiend, or order it from America for $35 + shipping, although I'm not sure if vape fiend currently have them in stock. There's also a titanium and wood Vapcap, and an all titanium Vapcap (called an Omnivap). To get more of an understanding, I'd head to the Dynavap Vapcap thread on here.

As for smoking bud on its own, no I don't, I don't smoke/combust anything at all anymore. Strictly vaping bud only, no e-juice or any of that stuff either. I highly recommend just giving up nicotine cold turkey. The great thing about quitting combustion completely is that after a while your tastebuds/smell recovers, so that vaping tastes better and better over time (as well as food etc). Now, to me, smoking bud tastes horrific, where as I loved it before. Vaping bud tastes AMAZING.

Peace

Storytime. Cannabis doesn't affect me unless I eat a good amount of it. Idk why? Anyway I'd be a fool if I was in public with it in my state either way. But, that's perfectly fine because one day I'm hanging out with my friend, and we decide to go to some store that's supposed to carry holistic healthy food n stuff. I found a mint and lavender flavored chocolate bar... completely commercial, nothing weird about it. ......Until we each had half. She was fine, I was GONE.

My mother was home, took one look at me and freaked out a little. Ok a lot. But I still had some brains and assured her it was not drugs. Friend helped. Without her backup I would have been plunked into some unnecessary rehab. I still live here, I don't know when I'll be able to afford moving out but it doesn't look near in my future.

I guess I'm sharing the story because everybody is different in chemistry etc... I could tell you that something works for me, but it won't work for you the same way. Idk what I'm on about. Stress also makes you dumb. Me dumb. Apparently.
