Convinced my parents to...

...partake in vaporizing my favorite herb with me! I will be using my Launch Box with some very kiefy bud. Any suggestions on making the situation run as smooth as possible?

I don't want them to become too elevated and distraught by their new experience. For some people the first experience may be too intense and uncomfortable, turning them against it from then on forward. I don't want this to happen since my mother has some ailments that would be greatly alleviated from the medicinal aspects of cannabis.

I am in need of advice.

Thanks in advance! :peace:

Go with the flow. Be mellow and comfortable, the same way you would if you were vaping with friends. Play music they like and if they are drinkers, have a few beers or a glass of wine first.

Then wrap a belt around your arm and mainline some horse. :o

Remember it can take up to 15 minutes for first time users to feel anything at all. Sometimes even longer. Just take it slow and they'll know when they reach an appropriate level of medication.

I would concur on this point. I've seen many people over do it their first time vaping. Doing it too your friends can be humorous, but not doing it too the 'rents... that wouldn't be that funny, unless they were trying too get that messed up.
I always tell people who vape for the first time too take a few hits and wait 15-20 minutes before they hit any more. I often liken it too taking shots of liquor. They are best done over time and not back too back, this way you don't consume more than you are prepared for.

kind of reminds me of the rules of eating a pot edible. Wait and see how it affects you before you partake in any more. God knows I've eaten one too many brownies, and that was not fun.
"I'm not feeling anything"
"Well eat another"
"Really? You Sure"
"Hell yeah Dude!!! go ahead and eat another, or two, or three"
one and a half more brownies and 45 minutes later.... "Jesus Christ man, I think I am going too throw up"

The problem with giving them a few adult beverages as you ply them with vape, they may not know which is hitting them: the booze or the dope.

As a non-drinker, I sometimes see a symbiosis, where the combination of the two drugs (alcohol & dope) seem to hit folks more than if they'd done either one just by itself. Of course, its just my observation, and I very well could be wrong.

Good point macbill.

If they are drinkers though, it might help to loosen up the situation. Then, the next time the parents vape, they can do it sans alcohol.

I envy aero's opportunity to vape with his parents - mine would NEVER go for it. Well, never say never - but it's highly (pun intended) unlikely.

wasn't implying you give them alcohol.... I was comparing taking a bunch of vape hits in a back too back manner can f@ck you up, just like doing a bunch of shots of alcohol back too back can. Before you know it you consumed way more than you can handle. That is all I meant by bringing up booze.

my intent was, don't let someone take a bunch of hits their first time Vaporizing. Vaping the first time can knock even the most seasoned smoker on their ass if they take one too many hits. That is of course, if they are shown how too hit it correctly. Some people can have a hard time if the don't know how too hit it.
so show them how too hit it correctly. Let them sit a good while and see how they feel. If they like it ask them if they want more. Ease them into it, don't let them jump right in.

My mother is not a drinker and my father is only an occasional drinker (rarely). So alcohol won't be present. Many mangoes will though.

I imagine that having them both blazing at the same time (my mother and father) will make it less stressful and a more cherished moment for them too!

I don't think I have enough for myself to join them, so should I get some more for myself or should I let them enjoy it themselves?

Also, what is something that we can do that will preoccupy some of the time? We will definitely talk for a while, but I also want to do something really relaxing and fun! Nature walk?

Thanks again for all the suggestions everyone! You sure make this community a great place to be in. :D

EDIT: I think the nature walk will be a great thing to do. I want them to experience the elevated patterns of thought that are characteristic of the plant, not just a nice body sensation. Walking through the forests around here has always been awe inspiring and left me with inspiring thoughts and insights. Washington is a wonderful state when it comes to the great outdoors!

I'd say let them enjoy it themselves, and sit back and enjoy watching them enjoying themselves. I would love for the chance to seem my folks vape while I sat there sober. Turnabout...

Alright, I will do that then! I'll be more able to control the situation that way (drive somewhere, for example).

Dude.. Are you serious?? I had a feeling that your dad would try it at one point but never thought your mom would agree.. If they do, im sure it will be an eye opening experience for the both of them and bring more understanding into the familly. This will be fun to hear about. Let me know how it goes when you do it.
